Basic Information

The weapon is essentially a single shot, breech loaded, side opening 40mm or 25mm grenade launcher, the design capable of being applied to both rounds. Based off of the M320, and designed to use caseless rounds over traditional cased rounds, the weapon is made of high strength polycarbonate composites, to allow the device to be lighter weight and smaller. The weapon essentially utilizes the same caseless rounds as in the 3GL and other series of weapons, which further reduces the weight and size of the loaded device.

The polycarbonate material is based off of the Defcom XL200, although the functioning of the weapon is different. This material has, for the most part, proven it's capacity in firing the low pressure rounds, and the high to low pressure firing mechanism is capable of reducing the recoil as well, the rest of which is largely absorbed by the weapon it is mounted on.

The weapon is approximately 13 inches long with an 11 inch barrel. The weapon operates on the same basic high and low pressure system as the M203 and M320, although operates more similarly to the M320. The design opens outwards, to allow the rounds to be directly loaded into the weapon. The weapon can be utilized as a stand alone weapon or be fitted as an addition on the rifle. In general, the weapon is lighter and smaller than the M320, designed to be specially fit on to the M8 series of weapons, and capable of adapting to rounds used in the 3GL, or lighter weight rounds.
