Ranking Up: A How To
In Way of the Shinobi, the Ranking System is a bit different. We ask you to be patient as you must meet the requirements listed below:
How to Rank up: From Genin to Chuunin
To Rank up from Genin to Chuunin, we have been shown in Canon that one must take the Chuunin Exams and in WoTS we are going to uphold the Cannonical precedent. Every once in a while, when four or more candidates are put forward by their Kage; the other Kage will travel to the hosting village or Iron Country with their candidates, if there are any, and judge the exams themselves. The exams will be different every time and we will try to have them as often as possible.
Like in Canon, the Kage will discuss whom they believe is worthy of becoming Chuunin. So one, many or even none of the candidates may advance. Absence on a participants part without proper reason or notification will lead to an automatic disqualification after 5 days. This disqualification does not stop you from taking part in future Chuunin Exams.
There are two ways of being nominated for the Chuunin Exams:
1. Max out your jutsu cap and approach your Jounin instructor. If they believe you worthy, they will nominate you to the Kage and the Kage will judge whether or not you are a good candidate.
- or -
2. The Kage will automatically put forward Chuunin Exam candidates they think deserve the chance without a Jounin recommendation. SO DO WELL!
How to Rank up: From Chuunin to Jounin
Unlike the Chuunin Exams, promotion to Jounin level is not a public affair and is held within the Candidates own village with no foreign rivals. In fact the exam is a complete secret consisting of tests and trials set down by the candidate's respective Kage. To be considered for the exam a Chuunin must max out their Jutsu Points and prove themselves to hold the title. Once this has been done, the Kage will invite them to take the exam.
There must be at least two particpants to take part in a Jounin exam and failure to be active without notice or good reason will result in instant disqualification after 5 days. This disqualification does not stop you from taking part in future Jounin Exams.
How to Rank up: From Jounin to Kage/ Kage-Level
Advancement from Jounin to Kage will be impossible unless certain things happen. If the Kage is killed or steps down fromk their positions then the current mod team will select a candidate or candidates to take over the position. If there are multiple candidates, the Mod Team will come up with some sort of challenge or test to prove which one of them is more worthy to take the position.
How to Rank up: Becoming a Missing Nin
Although becoming a Missing Nin is not quite available yet. There are a few ground rules that must be covered for when you may actually become a missing nin. To become a missing nin not only must you leave your village but you must commit some sort of crime in character as you do so. Why? Well if you just leave the village you aren't a Missing Ninja. You're just a Ninja who is missing. So, remember Missing Ninjas are criminals for a reason. You don't just walk out your village and become uber-powerful.
Also, no ninja ranked below Jounin may become a a Missing Nin. Why? I hear you ask. Well, think of it this way; if you commit a crime, someone is going to come after you and someone who could most probably stop you with little or no effort. So, if you want to get away, you're going to need to be skilled enough to do so. No Genin is going to escape a party of pursuing Jounin. So please, when Missing Nin do become available please do the right thing and in character make it worth our time to put you in the Bingo Book.
