A large, empty field for training purposes. The field was apparently cleared out by the current Mizukage, along with a few other Jounin in order to have a proper training place for the Genin.
After having selected a halfway decent mission, Kenshin walked to the training grounds. On arrival he noticed there were a few people around, he had to wonder who his contact for the technique was, being blind most people kind of looked the same unless he knew them or heard their voices.
'What to do what to do?' The question plagued Kagu as he walked down the streets of Kirigakure. He'd been in this village for little over two years now and still wasn't exactly comfortable with the change in environment. Luckily he'd been able to catch up to speed by watching how the other nin of Kirigakure genin and chunin behaved. Speaking of chunin the exams shouldn't be that far ahead. 'Training doesn't seem like a bad idea. Might as well.' He shrugged at the thought but still traveled over to the training grounds. It was different from the one he grew up training on in Konoha but he'd have to get used to the large cleared-out field. It was just another of the many differences Kirigakure brought. Still, Kagu couldn't bring himself to complain even if that meant he was stuck eating sushi while steaming hot miso ramen was miles and miles away. Kagu let out a small chuckle as his stomich growled at the thought of the thin noodles and rich broth. Sooner than later he'd have to travel out there and get some grub.
'Well no use in thinking about that.' Kagu shrugged the thought of food off of his mind and scanned the training grounds. A few other shinobi were making use of the field. Kagu's smile faded into a frown as he began paying attention to the techniques they were practicing. 'Looks as though I won't actually learn anything new from them.' He already had a basic understanding of the ninjutsu he was watching. His hope was to catch a jonin training out in the open though, that didn't tend to happen much. He shrugged and walked over to an empty section of the field, far from the gaze of others. Kagu's breathing slowed into a slow deep pace. His eyes closed as he focused back on one of the few lightning based jutsu he'd seen. Kage folded his hands together to form the monkey hand seal as he concentrated on chakra in his body calling forth the lightning chakra from within himself...Nothing...Kagu concentrated harder running through the technique inside his head. Within a few seconds he felt the slight twinge of pain he associated with lightning release begin to travel his body. Kagu had to resist his habit of throwing the chakra away as a lightning bolt; instead, he concentrated the chakra into his arm. The twinge of pain morphed into an annoying pulsating smirk as Kagu released his hands allowing them to form the sign for dragon. Kagu felt the chakra start to leave his arm causing him to concentrate harder in an attempt to bring it back.
Kagu groaned as he felt the chakra distribute back into his body. 'Second time's the charm.' He took a deep breath and once again formed monkey. Kagu concentrated the lightning chakra into his arm...Nothing...He relaxed a little as he felt the pain return. Kagu kept loading the chakra until he felt he could maintain it. Moving quickly, he formed the hand sign for dragon. Kagu smiled as he felt the chakra continue to build up in his arm. He concentrated until he heard the slight crackle of lighting in his right ear. Happiness almost broke Kagu's concentration but he kept his eyes closed. As Kagu felt the lightning start to dance across his skin he slowly opened his eyes. He glanced down to see the electricity flowing across his arm. The arcs traveling the length of Kagu's arm were a bit larger then he remembered causing him to relax a bit more and restrict the amount of chakra in his arm. Apart from the tint of orange from his chakra the technique looked about right. 'Only one thing left.' Kagu ran forward and allowed his right arm to hang down and sway left and right. He brought his arm up to strike before spinning around sweeping his leg out at his imaginary target. konoha reppu. Kariyou no Jutsu Kagu launched out an open palm at his now airborne target. Perfect! To relieve the pain coursing through his arm Kagu made contact with the ground letting the electricity jump from his hand into it's new conductor. The need for contact is going to be a downside. Kagu thought as he ran his left hand down his right arm checking for any injury. Out of the corner of Kagu's eye he noticed a black bird flying overhead. He knew he's seen the bird before but never in Kirigakure. He watched at the bird flew in the direction of the Mizukage's office. 'Odd. Let's see where it goes.'
Aki continued to carry a disheartened Ayame into an opened area within the grounds that lacked a lot of equipment beyond a few target dummies. Ayame knew she had caught the scent of the Mizukage in his office, yet maybe he chose to ignore her calls because he did not wish to be bothered by her. “He could have used all his kindness for me by letting me live here. I should not be expecting more than that,” She thought silently in the dark regions of her trouble mind. While sliding off of Aki’s back she thought back to the day when she arrived at the gates of Kirigakure. Back then she had been welcomed with open arms as a new kunoichi of the village despite her obvious origins within Konohagakure. Staring down at her feet she figured that she was probably seen as pathetic here and would eventually be kicked out of this village too.
Sensing his mistress’ distress, Aki made his way to Ayame’s side to bring her a bit of comfort and if need be to scold her for her lack of confidence in others. Standing up on his hind legs to reach her better, Aki began to gently nestle his nose into her hair. Ayame did not want to be comforted and let him know when she tried to push him away. Still he remained firm in messing with her hair until her endeavor ultimately failed. When she only cracked a small smile, Aki pressed more of his weight against this small girl. She began to laugh as his cold wet nose tickled her neck. “Okay okay. No more pouting I get it.” After gently scratching his nose she looked out at the vast grounds. Aki was right. This was no time for focusing on upsetting things. How could she ever expect to outdo her clan members if she remained the way they saw her.
Now which technique would she learn today? Reaching into her backpack she pulled out a slightly damaged scroll that had been one of the gifts from her mother upon becoming a Genin. Ayame held it up to her eyes to reach the faint print written on the seal. “Looks like this a B-rank technique,” she looked down at Aki and excitedly continued, “Lets do this one! The Human Beast Combination Transformation: Double-Headed Wolf!” She spent a few times going over the scroll mainly due to Aki constantly having to get her back on track rather than read a line and attempt what she did not understand. Once she placed the scroll back in her bag she placed it on the ground so that the contents of the bag would not be damaged. Hopefully the two would be able to perform this technique correctly without it completely wearing Ayame down. Besides Aki was going to stop her after a few tries to make sure that she also did not simply physically injury herself or him. For now they would just practice it with minimal movements or running. If she got it then eventually they would move on to if this was a situation within a battle.
Ayame paced a ways from her stuff with Aki following close behind her. She bounced up and down with puppy like excitement until her sleeve was caught in Aki’s teeth. “Right… sorry.” she said with a slight flush on her cheeks. Breathing in for a moment, Ayame tried to visualize how this technique was supposed to look like. There she had it! Quickly she jumped onto Aki’s back and made the necessary handsigns. A huge cloud of smoke appeared all around them as the two were formed together. The dog head of Ayame went to bark out proudly, but only a tiny yip came from either mouth. The two had formed together, but instead of gaining a substantial increase in size and strength, they had formed into a tiny puppy version of this technique. Aki’s head sank with an annoyed expression at having been reduced to a size he had long since forgotten. Ayame could not hold the technique for very long so released it. Once separated she fell to her knees panting from the sudden loss of so much chakra from her body. This was more than she was used to dealing with in such quick bursts. At most she knew how to perform a C-rank so this technique could not be used very often unless truly necessary for her to do so. “Again. I’m not quitting…” she said in between pants. Her body shook slightly as she stood back up with a determined smile on her face. Aki could already tell that she was only going to last this one last try if she just focused better. When Ayame was ready, he barked at her and gave her a serious expression with lowered ears so she knew to be serious this time. Ayame took a moment to charge up her chakra as best as she could before performing the handsigns again and resting her hand on Aki’s head. Poof! This time Ayame and Aki appeared to be the normal size that this technique produced. They had done it, but still Ayame could only hold this for a minute before they had to return to their separated state. Ayame fell over happily with a wide smile on her face. “Yahoo!!! We did it!” she called out as she fell to the ground. She was not too badly hurt; however her body was still dealing with the loss of so much of her chakra.
Aki laid down next to her with concern in his eyes, but she did not care at this point. “I promise we won’t use it often. At least not until I get better.” She patted the top of his head then slowly picked herself and moved onto Aki’s back. He was a bit less tired than her so he did not mind carrying her back to the place where he knew she wanted to go; back to the Mizukage’s office. Having a mission right now would be out of the question, but learning what team she would be on would not be troublesome. Plus there was no harm in reporting her progress. Slowly and carefully, Aki lifted himself and Ayame up and made his way slowly out of the training grounds. Ayame decided to doze off at least till they made it where she was being taken.
'What to do what to do?' Kagu was the first to arrive at the training field. He looked back at watched at the other three made their way to the same location. 'Humm, didn't think I'd be able to beat them here. Oh well, maybe training's paying off.' Kagu's stomach growled alerting him to the need for food. He ignored the thought and looked around. The crater he left in the ground from his previous training was still there surprisingly. His chakra levels weren't full but he still had enough to do more. On top of that his arm was starting to feel better and all traces of pain had retreated. Overall he was still feeling refreshed and the feeling was only intensified by the fact that he now had been assigned to a squad. Kagu looked back at his other teammate as she arrived. 'She doesn't seem to be at her full strength. Bit of a drag, I was interested in seeing what she could do.
Ayame walked slowly back onto the training fields in a different section than she had been in before. She was still drained from the intense loss of chakra while learning her newest technique so she fell behind her teammate, Kagu. Maybe after a bit more training, she would no longer be so greatly drained by something like that, but until then she would have to deal with the after effects. If need be she could still do some minimal things as long as Aki did not stop her from doing so. Right now he seemed more interested in getting a decent nap without Ayame becoming excitable or wanting to do any training involving his presence. Looking around slowly she noticed a gaping crater within the grounds. "Wow I wonder who did this? Kagu-kun did you do this before?" She walked towards the crater and sniffed around for a bit. The smell had become very faint by now, but she could smell that he had been here at one point. However, if it was recent or a few hours ago she could not really tell. Not much of her chakra was going to be directed to her nose at this point though.
xxxxxxxxxxxKamechi was the last one to make it to the field, she had taken her time as the group was making it's way through the village. She wasn't in any sort of rush and she was still mildly drunk from the massive sake consumption earlier, had she had known that she would have to train to keep herself entertained, she wouldn't have drank so much but she didn't, so she'd have to suffer through it. She watched as the two gennin walked in front of her, a slight smile on her face. She had wondered why they had followed her, but it was probably so they didn't have to wonder off aimlessly on their own. She didn't mind, she didn't like being alone anyways. She adjusted her mask and crossed her arms around herself, seeming to almost be hugging her own torso. She looked at the two gennin as she stopped near them.
"I don't exactly know why you two followed me, but you can watch me train if you wish or train by yourself. If I'm in the mood, maybe I can spar with you two." She smiled lightly behind her mask, even though the facial expression was hidden by the plastic mask over her face. Her heart momentarily raced at the thought of someone watching her while she trained, but she was sure the gennin would opt to do some training of their own. She would have competition someday, the boy in front of her, Kagu; he was strong. He could see it in his eyes, the eyes of the rinnegan, the eyes of the sage. She had heard briefly of the rinnegan before, but she didn't know much about it personally. She also didn't know much about this gennin boy, she had only been introduced in to the ninja world when he was in the academy.
Of course, even then, she could tell this boy was going to amount to something great some day. It almost made her lose confidence in her goal to get stronger, knowing that this boy would most likely surpass her. She didn't know him physically, but she could see it. In the way he moved and presented himself, he has hidden potential. Of course there was Ayame too, she was going to be a great ninja some day as well if she kept up how she was going. She had an amazing bond with her pet, and if she remembered correctly that was good for an Inuzuka.
Ayame turned her head to watch the masked chunnin walk into the field a little while after her and Kagu had. For the first time since she had met this young kunoichi, Ayame really looked at her in full view. She had called this woman beautiful before, despite not having seen her face. But, that was based more on her figure as a whole and the way she presented herself even in a drunken state. In her hyper state, Ayame had not noticed the mask so that when she did finally take in the mask she was surprised. When was that thing ever on her face? Then again if she remembered correctly, Kamechi had never removed her mask. Let it slip a few times, but never enough to expose even the slightest bit of her real face underneath. With a bit of excitement returning to her, the young Inuzuka walked towards this masked woman.
Without flinching she stood before the woman she felt a sot of instant bond with a broadened smile on her face. "I'll take you on Kamechi-senpai! I want to see how much better I've gotten!. Aki glanced up at her from under the shade of the tree. Even though he did not want to see Ayame over do it, he knew only injuring her would be the only thing to keep her from challenging someone stronger than her. She was at least not completely drained of chakra so if she stuck to just basic combat then she would not have too much trouble.
For a moment, she had nearly forgotten why she had made her way over to Kamechi in the first place. "Senpai, why do you wear that mask? Can I wear one too?" She folded her fingers together and placed them against her face trying to make her own mask. Ayame was slowly starting to see Kamechi as a someone she wanted to be around and be like. If this match proved great then her desires for this chunnin to become her role model would be cemented.
Kagu rubbed the back of his head a laughed a bit at Ayame's question. 'Didn't think she'd notice that."Oh uh yeah. Got a little practice in earlier. No biggie really." Kagu shrugged a bit. The crater was a bit bigger than he thought looking back at it. Maybe he was getting a bit stronger. It was a satisfying feeling. Slowly but surely he'd get to his goals…He would be known for more than his eyes. Kagu glanced over at Kamechi as she entered the field. Her senses seemed heightened. Maybe I'll get a show after all. Kagu glanced the woman over and smiled. His eyes closed as the small smirk made a visible imprint. "It wasn't like I had anything better to do so I figured I'd do a little training with you guys. Hope you don't mind." Watching other trained was one of the many things Kagu had to get used to in order to survive in Kirigakure. Having learned many of his techniques from Konoha nin, Kagu had to observe and learn the basics of Kiri nin quickly, luckily his eyes helped with that.
Kagu's eyes widened as he heard Ayame's challenge. His eyes scanned the girl in question. She looks really tired but she's still willing to spar with someone of a higher rank…She's going to be a valuable partner. Anyone willing to push themselves in training is worth working with. Kagu jumped back positioning himself an equal distance from the two girls and closed his eyes; making sure to keep his ears open for the sound of an oncoming attack. "Sparing? Sounds like fun.'Alright Kagu relax and take this easy. It's not a real fight, focus more on observing the techniques being thrown at you by Kameci-Senpai. Looks like you'll be able to see what she can do after all. Most importantly pay attention to Ayame's fighting style. You're going to have to fight along side of her, best not to get in her way. Have some fun. Kagu slowly opened his eyes and reached into pocket; gripping a small scroll.
xxxxxxxxxxxKamechi slowly felt a smile slip on to her porcelain face, her bright red eyes sparkling from behind her mask. She gently places her hand on the two katana at her side, the other, index pointed, touching her mask. These might be two gennin, but they were strong, and it was two on one. She wondered faintly if she would lose. She had long range attacks for Kagu, doubled with kenjutsu, and genjutsu for Ayame which would hold her up for quite a while. When Kamechi spoke, there was excitement and amusement behind her voice. "A spar it is. If you can knock the mask off my face, you win. If you two get exhausted and can't knock off my mask, I win. Either way, you both get treated to food! Now, I won't be fighting at my best, because of my own conscious, and for the fact that I might be still a taaaaddddd drunk. Either way! This'll be interesting!"
With that she jumped back, her pigtails catching the wind, before landing quite a distance away from the duo. She looked at the two, took a deep breath, then let her shoulders slump. She felt the tingle run up her spine, then collect in her shoulder blades. After that, there was a quiet moment before the screeching of air nature chakra before large black and blood red. semi-opaque wings burst from her back. They were black at the base, slowly fading to a hazy blood red as they reached the tips. Kamechi let out the breath that she was holding in and rolled her shoulders, the wings stretching a bit. She smiled widely behind her mask, taking out Kanimaru. The katana was black, with a bend in it towards the hilt to act as a guard. The sword itself looked insanely sharp, as if it were made from pitch black obsidian. The length of it, as Kamechi rose her arm over her head, was from the tip of her hair, top the middle of her thigh. Kamechi brought her arm and her sword over her head so that it was on her other side, facing out towards the duo.
Kamechi smiled, making a beckoning motion with her sword, she didn't have to worry, Kanimaru was duller than a stick of wood though it looked dangerously sharp. "Well c'mon then."
"Yahoo! I'll get that mask in no time!" Ayame declared with a fist in the air. She determined that she would get mask off and see Kamechi's hidden features even if she collapsed from exhaustion. "Shikyaku no Jutsu Performing the quick handsigns as forest green chakra flowed from her body as she fell down on all fours. Her toe and fingernails extended out to sharp pointed claws and her fangs extended in length as her appearance became steadily feral. She snarled and bared her fangs in Kamechi's direction as her pupils become slits and her hair stood slightly on end.
Without waiting to see what her teammate was going to do, Ayame charged full at Kamechi with her increased speed. For a moment she considered driving herself directly into her opponent's body, but she was unsure. If she jumped in the air she would not be able to dodge Kamechi's sword movements as easily. She stood a better chance trying to close the gap on the ground until she could do more. Plus she knew nothing of sword techniques so she would have to learn as she went. Hopefully the excitement of this battle would not completely take her focus from her. With the gap closing, something would need to be done shortly. She pushed off from her back legs to force an increase in speed towards the side of Kamechi's waist. Directly would not get her very far. Ayame figured that if she could get her legs and waist first then that would limit a bit of her movement. However, she did not think about what would happen if Kamechi simply moved out of the way. With arms drawn back she extended her claws ready for the slightly under thought attack.

'Alright all we gotta do is get the mask. Sounds pretty easy over all. Wait…nothing's that easy.' Kagu moved his hair out of the way of his sight and focused on his opponent. A flash of green hit Kagu's peripheral causing him to glance over at Ayame. His eyes widened a bit as he captured the look of his partner. He noticed that her teeth, nails, and eyes all changed. 'Sh-she looks even more like an animal. It's pretty impressive what the Inuzuka clan is capable of. The way their techniques mimic their partners. Now the only hope is that she doesn't just charge at Kamechi.Kagu sighed as he noticed that what he hoped wouldn't happen quickly became reality. 'Alright have to move fast if I'm going to catch her off guard.' Kagu quickly snatched two scrolls marked with a silver horizontal bar. He opened the two scrolls as they floated beside him. 'Alright let's see if you can dodge these as well. Generic Sealing Technique. A stream of five shrunken flew from each scroll; each of the shrunken attached a slim wire to Kagu's fingers. Kagu positioned the two perfectly so that they would miss Ayame. Fighting with weapons wasn't really his strong suite but he had a basic understanding, enough to control a few ninja stars.

Kamechi blinked lightly as Ayame rushed right at her, she had to admit the girl was very head strong and seriously fast, but she should have though that Kamechi might move, which she did. She side stepped the girl and watched as she flew right by her, a few seconds later, shuriken followed the gennin in her path past Kamechi. How weird, did Kagu purposely miss? Kamechi started her approach of the gennin carefully, jumping up as her fist enveloped in a strong flame. As she made her decent down, she picked up speed and came down quick on the gennin boy with a flaming fist. If the blow hit, it would cause a moderate amount of damage, and if it missed the force would cause the ground to crack and break where the punch landed from the strength alone. "Kyah!!"

As Kamechi side stepped Ayame's attack, she found herself sliding and skidding from the force of her attack until she lost her footing and tumbled for a few inches.Aki glanced up and watched as his partner tumbled across the field. He just shook his head slowly and rested back down. At least for now he would continue to let her do this battle on her down. So far she was maintaining her transformation well enough without it faltering. Standing up on all fours slowly she watched as Kamechi made her way Kagu with a flaming fist.
Stepping back Ayame built up the chakra following from her body again. This it looked like Kamechi was going to be a bit more distracted from her attack on Kagu. For a few seconds there would be an opening for Ayame to either be the inflicter of an attack or at least a big enough distraction for Kagu to maybe do some possible damage. That attack looked to be powerful enough to cause some major damage should she miss or should she land the blow. If that was the case then maybe losing a bit of coordination would be enough just to get her off balance. Before waiting too long for hit moment to pass, Ayame charged at Kamechi's back with fangs bared. She would try to latch onto arm with the flaming fist to try to use the attack against her. If this did not work she would try to do her best to rebound quickly without sustaining much injury.
'Couldn't say I didn't see that coming.' Kagu watched as his partner's move missed. Luckily his ninja stars missed both of the ladies as well, he knew he had more in store anyway. Who would want a trick ruined and reduced to a simple attack. Kagu's eyes watched the chakra in Kamechi's body shifted to her arm raptly. 'That is so freaking cool!' Kagu's eyes scanned the technique Kamechi preformed. He stood a little too long allowing her to get closer and closer before he realized 'Oh yeah she is kinda planing on hitting me with that. Before moving he glanced past Kamechi at Ayame and watched as she quickly approached. 'Humm that might just be helpful. Gotta time this just right.Kagu waited to the last possible second and jumped back, feeling the heat from the flames, and quickly closed his hands into fists. As he fingers closed they pulled on the shrunken, causing them to crisscross and return to him. If all went according Kamechi wouldn't notice the wire or Ayame and Kagu would easily catch her in his trap. The only issue was how would he catch Kamechi without Ayame. 'Looks like we might not be able to fight fire with fire.'
