Who or What are the Gaian PossessedThe Possessing Daemons of Gaia are hard to pin down due to their illusive nature. They often change forms or hosts regularly, it is only of late their existence was uncovered. Of all the towns Durem was the most accepting or perhaps it's best to say least bothered by them living among them. As the name suggests the Possessed own no physical form themselves, they must take on a host. When that host comes to a end, be it via the act of the daemon or naturally the Possessed moves on. Not all Possessed move from humanoid or living host to host some choose inanimate objects, often allowing them to play mischievous tricks on unsuspecting Gaians of any race. One of the Possessed spent much time as a tea-kettle, only lately did they take a humanoid host.
The nature of the Possessed varies. Some of prideful, some nasty, some kind. One thing they all seem to share is a mischievous streak. They also love bartering and offering trades, or in some cases offering and never giving what they say. They prey on wants and desires of humans to try and trick them but they are not all malevolent. It has been many years since a Possessed caused the death of another creature.

O.R.R.G's DatabaseA point of interest is that if a Possessed should have a child to another race or Possessed the child has a high chance of being a full bodied daemon or half daemon. At the natural death of the body the child possesses, however, the child or adult as they will be, will be able to find another host if they so wish.
