I didn't even think they were going to make a PS4 eek I don't even have a PS3 yet o= I have been thinking of getting it but I don't know what PS3 games to get on there except the Metal Gear series since since I get most video games for the Xbox 360. I would most likely use the Ps3 for Ps2 games and Ps1 anyway lol :3

However, you can BUY PS1 games from the online store.

I don't know how it worked for them. The PS4 is said to be backwards compatible though, so you can wait for that

I just recently bought a PS3. Used. For cheap. (I know buying used tech is a no-no, but I really just bought it because my brother's 360 is dying, and we bond through video games. He lives 8 hours away from me.)
I struggled with the decision because I knew the PS4 would be announced any moment and would be released this year. In the end, I got the PS3 anyway.
I will definitely get a PS4, but not for a couple of years. PS3 has some major games coming out this year, and it will continue to be supported through 2015. Meanwhile, you never want the first wave of a new gaming console because they're always so buggy/glitchy. It will also take awhile before really good games will be designed and available for PS4.
.....That's my thought process. I'm sure my reasoning is faulty, buuuut I'm mostly trying to convince myself that even with the PS4 coming out, I didn't waste a ton of money.

I personally hate 3D, so I would definitely root against that...
I'm not a huge fan of where video games are going in general, though. All the interactive crap is lame, I think. Video games are sit down time, not jump around the room time. At least, not until they get fully interactive video games, like the kinds they have in futuristic movies and such.

I am very disappointed with the PS4. While I understand it's supposed to be more gaming-oriented, their refusal to support music CD's and DVD's is complete bullshit. They got rid of the free-to-play PSN, and most of the games are composed of 90% DLC-exclusive material.
Aside from the penny-grabbing bullshit, though, the games that are supposed to be coming out in the next few years are looking pretty tight. I've got Thief, Shadowfall, Metal Gear Solid V, and Infamous right now, and aside from MGSV, they were all worth every penny.
