Rules for becoming an Instructor/Lead Instructor
- You must complete the Instructor/Lead Instructor application and submit it.
You must be an active member of the Academy. This includes coming on about every day and participating with events and other people.
You must have at least been in the Academy for one month before participating in the selection process. For Lead Instructors you must have been an Instructor for at least one month before participating.
You need to have applicable knowledge of your element. There will be a test that is given to test this knowledge on this skill level.
Must pass the Instructor/Lead Instructor review board.
There can be only 1 Lead Instructor position for each element. Instructor/Head Instructor positions will be posted as needed in the proper place within the tread. Be sure to keep checking for any postings of any new Instructor/Head Instructor positions that become available.
Rules for the Instructors/Lead Instructors
- An Instructor/Lead Instructor shall enforce the rules of the Academy, however, an Instructor/Lead Instructor can only issue out verbal and/or written warnings to students. An Instructor/Head Instructor cannot ban and/or suspend a student from the Academy. A Lead Instructor has the power to issue out both sets of warnings to Instructors and other Lead Instructors.
An Instructor/Lead Instructor is responsible for the well-being and proper training of their school’s students.
An Instructor/Lead Instructor is responsible for submitting any instruction materials and instruction curriculums to the respective God/Goddess of their school to be looked over and reviewed.
A Lead Instructor is responsible for submitting monthly student reports on the students within their element. These reports are to be turned into the Master of that element. If a Master is not available then a Lead Instructor shall submit the report to the Head Master of that element. If a Head Master is not available then a Lead Instructor shall submit the report to the God/Goddess of that element.
A Lead Instructor is responsible for the behavior and conduct of Instructors appointed under them. If a Lead Instructor is not on duty at the time then a Master/Head Master shall take responsibility. If a Master/Head Master of that school is not on duty then the respective God/Goddess of that school shall take responsibility.
An Instructor/Lead Instructor shall report to a Master when they are to be away from the Academy for an extended amount of time, i.e.: being sick, injury, travel, school, etc. Extended amounts of time are to include any portion of time of which a person is to be away from the Academy for more than 1 week.
- Failure to report to a Master of an extended leave of absence from the Academy shall result in the Instructor/Lead Instructor being placed on a probationary period of no less than 14 days. Upon a second failure to report to a Master of an extended leave of absence from the Academy the Instructor/Lead Instructor shall be removed from their rank and replaced.
If the length of unreported absence is justifiable, then upon return of the Instructor/Lead Instructor from the first offense, no punishment shall be made. If upon the second offense and it is justifiable and the position of the Instructor/Lead Instructor has been filled, the former Instructor/Lead Instructor can request either a vote from the school populous including the Gods/Goddesses or hold a bout to decide who will keep the position.
In the result of a tie in the votes, a special tiebreaker bout will be conducted and officiated by the God/Goddess of that element.
