Again, you reach another door. The door reads 'To enter, sacrifice all that you speak'. As you enter inside, you can no longer say anything. You can no longer speak nor hear. As you move, you see others walk around you, but they feel like nothing more than shadows, unable to truly communicate.
The walk upwards becomes slow, painful. You feel a heavy weight pound against you, as all your senses tell you to stop, but your other newly awakened memories and feelings tell you to move forwards no matter what.

When you hit the 150th step (or higher):
The Voice is louder, but because of that, it also sounds more dissonant. Strange. It doesn't have as much pull or power over you. "Remember your Kingdom, and why you were created into this world. Without it you will be lost. Without it you will become discarded and thrown away. You are a fragment that I created. Without me, you will cease to exist in this world."
When you hit the 200th step (or higher):
You notice a slight tone of desperation. It becomes almost pleading, cajoling. "I create this world, and thus I can give you anything. Reflect on your choices now, and remember that I even have the power to make you become the greatest Kings. I could rebuild this world around you. Everything will could be yours." The promise sounds empty however, considering everything else it has already promised. While a part of you wants to abandon it and join the Voice, the other parts says 'not yet'. Not until you see what lies at the very end.
When you hit the 250th step (or higher):
"If you tread further, then you will see only disappointment." A sigh, you feel it, tiredness. Resentment. "I wish only for one True King. I do not wish for anything else. What will you gain from reaching me other than what you already know?
When you reach the end of this floor (step 300), after responding to the prompts (above), both AT LEAST ONCE, move to THE THIRD AND FINAL PART OF THE TOWER

She knew it was coming. Here, she couldn't even hear her own thoughts. Riley's head started to ache with the muffled density of silence, and her body felt the heavy weight resting down against her. Gravity worked to keep her down with every step, and she fought it. She'd felt like this before. She knew that eventually, each step would feel like the last she could take.
And then she would take another.

On and on moved the shadows that floated up each step, marching forward with their slow and steady beat. She couldn't catch up to those in front of her, anymore. Equally, she realized that no one was passing her anymore either. Or if they were, she couldn't see them.
Her eyes dimmed. She couldn't see much of anything, anymore.

On the step that the Voice penetrated her mind, she felt forced to stop. Her entire body clenched with the sound, languishing in the volume the Voice had to use to get through to her now. It felt like knives in her psyche, and she didn't really approve of anyone being in there without her permission. It was speaking to her of her Kingdom, and she tried, with all of her will power, to shut it out. She was NOT a fragment of this world. When the Voice was dead, she would be fine.
And so would Xiu.
It's words only served to inflame her further, and she surged forward with new strength.

No, no, no..no voice either now? But she couldn't stop, and couldn't turn back. What would be the point? It would have been a waste, all that effort to get this far. No, she would show that she wasn't useless, even if she was not real..a determined fake.
She almost laughed at that..not that she would have heard or made any noise anyway.
She wasn't sure if was fatigue from the first 100 steps she'd walked or what, but these seemed harder to scale. Every step felt like an effort, and tired as she was, she hardly registered the sudden appearance of the Voice again, though there was something different about how it sounded.
I did not exist anyway..what can I lose? I am nothing..but these damn stairs.
No hearing meant that she was unable to speak - for who else would be able to hear her? Standing in front of the second door, she accidentally let out an undignified snort at the door. What kind of idiot would want to speak after they had lost their hearing, as the same of the rest of the members who found their way in.
She was fine without her voice. She barely used it anyways. The most important person she reserved speech for wasn't here, anyways.
She kept going.

She heard the song she'd been singing to herself, in her own head. Except, she knew she wasn't actually hearing it, she was simply going mad from the lack of hearing, the lack of sight, the lack of..
Where are you now, Voice? She tried to think, as hard as she could. What do you have to say for yourself, now that you have failed to stop me so far?

Enough, she told herself. The faster she arrived at the top, the faster her senses would return. It had to be - or else, the faster she could kill The Voice and return to her proper self. That was good enough for her.
She surged forward, trying to imagine what the world looked like back at home. Even that was hard. It angered her to think that this could tamper with the recollection of her memories like that.
She'd lost enough of those already.

There. She tripped when she heard the Voice returning to her mind, and was horrified at the realization that she almost welcomed it. The sound was missed, if she was going to be honest. It made her stomach churn, and that, too, was missed.
