They ended out defunding the entire project. :/ I believe about 13 almost 14 clinics have closed in the last month, the entire thing is so dumb.
The premise of the entire thing is about the anti-abortion campaign, and how Govt. Perry is obsessed with it, when the whole point of Planned Parenthood is right there in the title of the organization.
There IS a rather large sum of money called Title X in the government funding that is designated for family planning, and there's some lady trying to get a hold of it so that it can be granted around but a majority of the WHP in Texas is looking like it's going to be replaced by a state government set up TWHP. Which doesn't even seem possible to uphold because they're talking about this program increasing the patient capacity by 67,000 clients when the number of Doctor's hasn't changed at all which is WHY women went to PP and through the WHP because there are doctor's who don't want to see them because they have no insurance or no money to pay for their medical needs.

ended defunding? So the stopped not funding the project? As in the are funding the project?.....*logic error breakdown* But either way family planning clinics are essential for controlling many things, things which get much more expensive if not controlled (not just babies, but other sexual things). I do believe it is very important. http://www.familyplanning.org.nz/our_clinics/clinic_feesIn NZ they are free to people under 22, and cheap to people over with the CSC (A card to help people on low incomes)...and not really that bad for anyone else. I believe in prevention (for many reasons, but the fainancial ones should be obvious to a govt). And definitly family planning is needed.

"Ended out" Ended - Ended Out - Meant that sessions are out.
So they ended discussions, and bounced TFO and are not talking about it anymore. It's been passed, so everyone else is trying to pick up the pieces.
See that's a good thing. 3nodding From what I understand, the health clinics will still be able to stay open if the Title X money gets handed out, but it's all still going to be rolling down the tubes anyhow. They're trying to cram everyone into medicaid because the government can directly manage that.
Okay, these are not my feelings about abortion. The state of Texas is obsessed with abortion and the fetus' "feelings" and s**t. But once the infant is born the state suddenly stops caring. They feel like it's so wrong, but the state sees nothing wrong with that child not being able to afford shots in the future if born to a lower income family, or even their education.
They just want that kid born, no matter what. After you're out the uterus, the state is basically like, "******** it. You're on your own."

Citrus Novii They just want that kid born, no matter what. After you're out the uterus, the state is basically like, "******** it. You're on your own." it was pretty much the word "defunding" specifically the "de" part which got me. But I knew what you meant ^_^. The problem with conservatists is they are idealists.....Hmm that sounds wrong. But what I mean is its "nice" to have a idea, but yeah unless you think the idea all the way through, to even after the idea isnt being thought about. Then you cant really understand the consequences or repercussions of said idea. And basically as you said, those idealists dont really care about what happens at the end of thier idea.
