The Great Battlefield remains torn through the ages, broken pieces of its legacy left behind on the ravaged field. Many areas have become unstable, especially beyond the stretch of hills spanning north, leading towards the deeply Tainted lands where none dare to enter.
All is quiet, until from equal distances away from each other, banners unfold. The Kings' armies. Several look around for signs of the Kings themselves, while other Kings are much more clever, unwilling to sacrifice themselves quite yet. It is quiet.
A presence appears, unlike any other, invisible and yet so prevalent, powerful. The Voice. "Fight for your Kingdoms. Fight for yourselves. Fight for your Kings so that one may be crowned the True King. For those who fall, for the Kings who lose all their warriors, they will also fall. A King without their pieces will no longer be King. A True King leads their army or commands by it, they are as powerful as they are wise. This call to battle for many will be their first and last but the glory from the victorious unfathomable. Seeing as Ying had stormed off ahead of her brother, she actually found herself on the battlefield first. She looked around, seeing people coming in behind her, but a thick frown crossed her face. Had she ... just put herself on the frontline? Uh oh. Even Ying knew that people on the frontlines never lasted long. In fact, they usually didn't last at all. Her mind flashed to her brother. She was mad at him, but even she didn't want to die without saying goodbye and that she loved him lots and lots.
A shaking hand pulled out her gun to defend herself. Oh god she was scared. She was really, REALLY scared. It was pathetic how scared she was. She didn't even want to fight for the Watch, why had she run out here like this?

Taima wasn't noble. To say that she was here to fight for G's memory, for his naive ideals, would have been inaccurate. The truth of it was, it had been a long, trying day and she just really wanted to hit stuff.

The battlefield, which would soon be smeared with the blood of both allies and enemies. Possibly her blood. She almost hoped for it now. More than ever, she was ready to face it. After the fall of a man who deserved no such thing, the woman was ready to put her mind at rest. A mind that was busy guilting her. Saying she could've done more.
She did not draw her weapon. No, not just yet. Until the enemy came at her, they would not be aware of what she was packing. Her arms simply stayed out in front, prepared to protect her vital points if the need arose. If she was going down, it wouldn't be without a fight. There was still time to add a few more notches to the death tally. Perhaps it would earn her a coffee mug in hell.

She entered on the heels of Bastion, whose name she knew in passing but not much else. Regardless, he was gold and he was her comrade, and for that simple fact alone he was now her partner. She knew there was strength in numbers and she, for one, did not want to fail their king as miserably this time as she did the last.
"Don't get too far ahead," she called, hurriedly taking a few steps to catch up with him. Her bright eyes glanced around, trying to see who might have beaten them onto the battlefield but she only saw a few in the distance. Better safe than sorry though, right?
She muttered a spell under her breath, calling on her great expanse of magic knowledge, and smiled to herself as the air fluttered in a haze around Bastion. It was a small defensive spell, but it might help.

The sound of a voice, a female voice, made him turn around quickly. His peace turned to turmoil, and he stared at her for a good minute. He recognized that pretty face, but he'd never tried anything with her - and in fact, that might be exactly the reason why she felt it necessary to defend his measly life, and subsequently take a hit for him.
"NO!" This wasn't how it was supposed to happen! He wasn't supposed to be the cause of ANOTHER innocent woman's pain! His face screwed up in such rage, that he lashed out at the culprit, despite it being - of course - another woman. He couldn't see anymore, past the sight of red.
This woman, this.. gods help him, he couldn't remember her name, was it Red? Ruby? Rose? This rose had been there to protect him.
This rose cared.
Bastion rewarded her with revenge.

Scarlett never saw it coming. One moment she was surveying the world around her and the next, she felt the bullet. It struck her low in the shoulder and could have been fatal if it weren't for her natural shield. She felt the loss of miasma, a wisp of faint gold as she weakened, but had no time to spare.
With a grimace she turned, surging after Bastion, and murmuring another spell low under her breath. The air literally turned solid and surged forward, striking the girl that had come from no where like an invisible bullet.
It had begun.

It was a surreal feeling, to be walking into a battle royale for every kingdom. Jason nervously looked around the area, already seeing a few going at it. His kingdom included. He needed to get his act together as well. Join the fray and fight against the enemy.
With his stone in hand, he summoned forth a golden blade and looked for a opponent to fight. He saw a young woman nearby, and his heart faltered. She didn't even have a weapon and she was here in this place. Didn't the girl know she could die?
He sighed, conviction warring inside him. To fight a unarmed women was wrong...but then, if he didn't fight, their kingdom would fall.
Clenching his mana sword, he charged forth, swinging sword and aiming to strike her shoulder. Perhaps he could just get her to surrender...
