(( I hope you don't mind that I play this as before Saya got her pokemon, so she won't have one and will be basically straight out of hobo-hood. ))

Saya wandered the halls of her new home, "Team Rocket Headquarters," they called it. The man that brought her here was gone, and she was alone. Not that she minded one bit. She didn't know who he was and didn't care if she ever saw him again. She preferred to explore by herself anyway.

The place she was in was HUGE! It was like her forest home, but instead was enclosed with walls everywhere. Saya placed one hand on the wall as she walked, carefully tip-toeing barefoot on the linoleum tiles. Her new shoes felt weird on her feet, so she had left them back in her room when she had first tried them on.

Saya was wearing what they called a "Rocket Trainee uniform." It was of the brightest red possible. She stuck out like a volcarona among caterpie. The other Rocket people in different colored uniforms passed by without one glance towards her, however. She was self conscious and made a mental note to make the uniform less bright, somehow.

Before arriving at Team Rocket HQ, she kept close to the entrance of any store or marketplace she was in for easy escape. Now, that she allowed herself to go further into a building, she found that she was quite lost. Which way did she come from? She stopped and looked back at the way she had come from. She frowned at the dozen pathways leading from the main one. How was she ever going to find her way back! Where were the distinguishing trees, the tell-tale pile of pokemon droppings that told her it was the wrong way?

She caught a whiff of something delicious brewing and instantly forgot her despair. Food was more important. She dropped to the ground, crouched low, and briskly made her way towards the smell. It led her to a large open room, with many tables and many people.

Saya pin-pointed the closest person, who was sitting down with a plate of food in front of her. An apple. That would do, even though the aroma in the air suggested there is better food somewhere in the room. She didn't have time to scout. Get in, get out.

She made her way up to the girl with the blonde curls, and swiped the apple from her plate as the girl preoccupied with a bowl of soup. Saya ran.

(( Feel free to spot her and chase xD! ))

"Oh!" Fifi squeaked as some of her food suddenly grew a girl and ran off. "Um, excuse me?" The girl was making tracks away. Fifi grabbed a roll and tossed it at the girl. "Hey!"

Something hit her head! Saya ignored it, as it didn't hurt and disappeared into one of the side hallways, hoping it didn't lead to a deadend.

It did. Dammit. She turned back quickly, but she knew it lost her time.

She composed herself and acted like she was just stepping out of one of the rooms at the end of the hall.

Fifi rounded the corner and wasn't at all fooled by the act. "Hey! You...ohmygosh,so cute! heart " Fifi exclaimed, overwhelmed by how adorable the smaller girl was. "You were just hungry, weren't you?" she cooed as she started trying to herd the small trainee back to the cafeteria. "Did they forget to show you how to use your card to get food at the cafeteria? Don't worry, I'll help you! I'm sorry I threw the roll at you, some of the people here can be big meanies, and I thought you were one of the ones that picks on me. Don't worry though, I'll be your friend," Fifi babbled, seeming to not even take a breath.

"Ahh...No, I was..." Saya gave a cry of protest, but the girl dragged her along, persistent. "I have to..." She couldn't get a word in, as words flew out of the other girl's mouth a-mile-a-minute.

She struggled to get away, but perked up at the word "food." Maybe she'll go along with this, if it can get her a decent meal. Saya wished she had her pocket knife on her, in case it led to her having to use it.

They reentered the food area, and Saya's stomach rumbled at the delicious aroma. Then, she remembered normal people had money, and she didn't. She couldn't pay for food.

"I don't know what you're talking about, girly. I didn't steal anything from you. You are mistaken." She finally managed to say, as she edged towards the exit. Too many people around. Worst of all, she got caught and the attention was on her.

Fifi managed to keep a surprisingly strong grip on the other girl as she drug her along. "Oh, it's okay, I don't mind, here, just swipe your card, don't worry if you haven't gotten your first paycheck, I was totally worried about that the first day too, but it's totally part of the package, Team Rocket takes care of everything for it's people, isn't it great!" Fifi rolled right over the other's objections, recapturing her when she tried to make a break for it and steering her towards the scanner again.

"Free... food?" Saya asked, unsure. She had never heard of free food anywhere other than in the boarding house she was from back home, where she was sure they were only providing because it would be illegal to not feed the children. That was the worst crap in the world.

She was shoved towards the line of people.

What was the other girl talking about, "swiping" cards? Then, she remembered the card they handed her on the first day after snapping her photo. She was sure they were going to turn her in into the cops after that, but surprisingly, they didn't.

Saya dug into her pocket and took out the ID card. She stared at the machine. And then her card. And then the machine. And held her card out over the machine, as if it would do...something. She didn't know what.

"Yeah, isn't it great?" Fifi said perkily. "Oh, like this!" She swiped her own card through the reader, getting a mechanical 'Beep!' in return. Fifi beamed. She loved being a mentor!

Saya followed suit, amused by the machinery. She stared and wondered where the food came out of the machine. It looked so tiny.

When nothing happened, she attempted to shake it. Maybe it was broken.

"Oh, it's supposed to beep, don't worry! What did you want today?" Fifi asked as she shoved a tray at the smaller girl. "They have soup, salad, and rolls over there, and burgers and fries and stuff over that way, and hot cereals and eggs and bacon over there, and a roast and veggies and potatoes over there, and a dessert bar...." Fifi babbled as she pointed around at the various food stations. "Just help yourself!" she said, beaming happily.

Saya looked the plastic board all over, wondering what it was for. It was given to her, so she decided it was hers for the keeping and held on to it.

"Help myself?" Saya walked over to the buffet of food. "So I just take it?" The small girl quickly swiped a french fry with her nimble fingers, testing to see if anyone would yell at her. She was so used to having to steal that free food was a foreign concept to her. No one noticed.

Saya saw the other Rockets around her placing their food items on their plastic board and placed her one fry on hers. She crouched low, making her way through the food lines and swiping one of everything she could grab with her hands. When every inch of her tray was filled and toppling, she even put some rolls into her pockets.

Fifi followed, taking a plate, utensils, and a napkin, and helping herself to this or that as she followed the other girl. It seemed she wanted to try everything. Well, if this was her first visit, it made sense to see what she liked here!

Fifi paused. Oh! How rude of her! "Okay, well, now that you have some food, you pick a table! I'm Fifi, by the way!" Fifi belatedly introduced herself as she led the way to a table and sat down.

Saya saw the girl grab some utensils, and walked up to the same station.

A fork. It will have to do, Saya thought as she armed herself with it. She had to have a weapon in case a fight broke out. The girl did throw a roll at her before. The knife besides it looked tempting too, but she decided against it since it was too blunt to cause damage. Napkins, those were useful. She grabbed a whole stack and shoved them into her pockets as well.

Saya held the fork in her mouth and the full tray with both hands. She cursed herself for being so greedy and not having a free hand for her weapon. The other girl spoke, but Saya was too preoccupied with assessing the situation and looking for possible dangers that she was only listening half the time.

Suddenly, the girl was gone! Saya looked around, preparing for a possible attack, but she spotted the blonde sitting a few feet from where she stood. A few chairs surrounded the empty table, and Saya chose the one right across from the girl to watch her every move.

Even though she was starving, Saya waited until the other girl took a bite first before picking a noodle off her own plate with her fingers. She thought about using the fork for its intended purpose, but decided it was much more important as a weapon and instead, held the fork in her right hand, ready for any attack. With her left, she stuffed food into her mouth.

"Fifi? I'm Saya." Her gaze never left the blonde.

"Nice to meet you, Saya!" Fifi said cheerfully after swallowing her own bite. The poor girl had to be hungry, Fifi thought as she saw the way she bolted her food and looked ready to stab anyone who came near. She was so adorable, Fifi just wanted to hug her, but thought it would be better to let her eat first. She looked a little jumpy. Hm, Saya hadn't grabbed a drink. If she kept eating that fast without a drink, she was bound to choke! Fifi opened her juice and passed it over. "You didn't get a drink! Here, have my extra!" she said brightly.

Saya pushed her chair back and lifted her fork into the air in one fluid movement, preparing to defend herself from the sudden reach towards her. And then realized the girl named Fifi only offered her a juice box. The small girl lowered her fork and slid back into her seat. She paid no attention to the people around, who were staring.

Upon close inspection, the juice box seemed safe. The Fifi girl had opened it with her watching, so she couldn't have slipped anything into it. She lifted it and looked all around for any signs of tampering. Having found none, the girl took a sip. Her gaze still fixated on the blonde. Saya was still not convinced this girl wasn't going to attack her.

The food on her tray was half gone, but Saya couldn't finish the rest of it. The girl took out a single napkin from her pocket and wiped her sticky hands on it. Then, she grabbed the tray and started to head out towards the exit. She needed a place to store the excess without anyone finding it.
