✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖

                                  Regret, along with Content, apparated into the apartment's living room. A cozy fireplace, tall enough to fit a grown wizard, sat in front of a set of couches and chairs. The neutral colors of the walls and furniture contrasted the red-bricked fireplace nicely. His mother had a knack for interior design, after all. To the left of the couch was the front door, and to its left was the dinning table, which was unused for quite some time. Dust collected over its polished wooden surface showed just how long ago Regret dined there.

                                  The kitchen, too, wasn't used for quite some time. Regret never really cooked for himself either. Well, he never really learned, since he never had to. Tucked right in the middle of where the kitchen and the living room met was a corridor that led to the bathroom and the three bedrooms, one for the couple and the other two for the kids. Content would just have to use his parents' room, Regret guessed.

                                  "I'll unlock the bedroom where you'll be staying. If a room is locked, do not go in," he said. He was mainly referring to Yen's room, but since he would be keeping his own room locked, he thought it would be a good idea to include everything else. With that said, he walked off to the end of the corridor, taking his wand out and proceeded to whisper a string of counter spells and charms.

⚔ ⚔ ⚔ ⚔ ⚔ ⚔

One moment, Content was outside, in that lovely children's park that she loved so much, and, the next, she was here. Without knowing, exactly, where 'here' was, Content was a little taken aback. She had thought that the prim and proper gentleman Regret was more of a manor man. He had the look and attitude for it. Then again, she had once thought that his name was Bartholomew. Looks weren't everything, she told herself. Even though he dressed posh and acted like he owned the world at times, did not mean that he had a mansion or a manor or even a private island. In fact, Content had not seen him where anything but that outfit that he had worn the night in the alleyway outside her old apartment. He didn't seem to have anything else to really change into, which sort of depressed Content. If she was limited to one outfit, she would have pulled her hair out with boredom. Content would never be accepting of limitations. She did not accept the word as truth, and would go out of her way to find a loophole, or a new outfit. The ends justify the means, if you prefer.

Which is why, when Regret told her to stay out of the locked rooms, she would respect his wishes, but her mind was already buzzing with curiosity. Already scheming ways to pick the lock, find a way in. She hated 'no' and hated being told not to do something. Her fence once told her that stealing a particular artifact from a museum was impossible. Well, Content did not take well to it and took it as a challenge. She managed the artifact, with more to spare from that museum. Sticky fingers went a long way, but so did her ability to sneak around with and without magic. It helped her get the things she wanted and needed, but she never killed using magic. Never. Mostly because she did not want the Ministry's eyes following her around. Despite being a wanted thief in the muggle world, the Ministry still possessed a bit of indifference for muggle matters, which was how Content was still under the radar, so to speak. As long as she didn't cross over into wizard territory, or unforgivable curses, Content was fine. That's why she had her lipsticks; they were great alternatives to magic.

She took the bag off her shoulder and dropped it on the ground with a nice thud. Looking around, Content inspected her surroundings. The dining table was covered in a nice layer of dust, which made Content wonder if this man ever found time to eat. If so, where did he eat? The couch? She looked at the furniture and bent down to inspect it. She didn't notice too much dust on the cushions, so she assumed Regret sat on these things, perhaps in front of the fireplace while a fire was burning. Content got an image of Regret sitting on this couch, eyes focused on nothing in particular of the fire, with a face full of contemplation. Did he spend his nights alone like that? Sitting there in thought, wondering how life could have been if his family had still been alive? Did he eat there, too? Perhaps this was the only room he found even slight comfort in? She stood straight up, and looked at the walls. The color was calm, subtle, but nice. It complimented the furniture and fireplace quite nicely, if Content thought so, herself. The kitchen seemed ghostly and untouched, and it gave Content chills. She barely glanced in there as she grabbed her bag and followed after Regret.

Content looked around, her hand still on the bag strap. He was whispering some spells under his breath that she couldn't quite make out, which was fine with her. She didn't want to know what, exactly, was on the door before he lifted it. The last thing she needed was a face full of warts, or something worse. Especially since the night was still young; she needed to go find a fence somewhere. She also needed to figure out what sort of things she needed, in case she forgot to pack it in her haste to avoid the police. She would have to go out and take it from some poor soul or a small shop. It was late, so she would have to keep in mind that most of the people who lived in these places would be asleep. In that case, maybe she should consider going somewhere tomorrow instead? She had had a long day today, and maybe taking a break from the whole thief business - just for one night - would be good for her. Content had been an emotional wreck tonight, so, no need to add on to the stress of having to work.

When the door was opened to her, Content hesitated. She dropped the bag inside the room, looking around cautiously. Everything seemed untouched. There didn't seem to be many objects in the room, as far as knick-knacks were concerned, but there was a sadness in this place, and it made Content uneasy. The furniture was covered in dust, telling Content that even Regret avoided this room. Just like the dining table, this room was off-limits to him, it seemed. She approached the bed, which was big enough for two, and looked at the sheets. They were clean, if not a little covered by dust. She felt like she was in a glass dollhouse, unable to touch or even breathe without fearing that she would break something with her clumsy self. The air was still, as she looked around. At least there was a window there, the curtains drawn, to keep the light out. It added to the eeriness of the room. Content crossed her arms across her chest and held herself. It was an action she did whenever she was slightly uncomfortable in a situation. This situation was one of those times.

Looking back toward the door, she raised an eyebrow at Regret, "You're being awfully nice to the woman who took your wand," she laughed, the twinkle in her eye returning, "Should I expect visits from you during the night?" Content winked, walking back to her bag. She bent over to open her bag and felt her loose shirt fall forward and show more skin than she was sure Regret was used to seeing. However, she was a guest in his home so, in order to be more 'presentable' to Regret, Content knelt down instead, finding it difficult to do in heels. At least this way, her cleavage was not presented for Regret to see. Life was so much easier when she lived alone, she lamented to herself as she looked up at him with knowing eyes. This meant no more walking around naked or in panties. No more bringing men home, mostly because she was sure her new apartment roommate would not appreciate the sounds. And it would make him so uncomfortable... on second thought, it would be a little funny to see Regret's face when she brought home a boy toy. Then again, he might have a fit and kill the man and then her.

Speaking of which, she grabbed the urn from her bag and put it on the nearby dresser as she spoke to Regret, "Are there any rules that I should abide while I'm here? Other than the 'don't enter locked rooms' rule?" she smirked, looking over at him after she made sure the urn was in a sturdy position on the dresser.

                                  Regret stepped aside to let Content enter the bedroom. There was nothing special about the room, not even a trinket. His parents were like that; Never wasted any money on decorations. Just paint and furniture. That's why Regret could bring himself to enter this room and let a stranger sleep in this place. Nothing here reminded him of his parents, except a couple photo albums stashed away in the closet. He didn't care if Content looked through them or not, as long as she wouldn't come shoving his childhood pictures into his face.

                                  "Do you want me to be mean?" Regret asked, raising an eyebrow. After all, he was going above and beyond of what was expected of him for Content, giving her a place to stay and all. I want to visit her, Yen chimed in reply to Content's question. "You won't." That is, unless Regret felt like something was wrong, such as, say, hearing construction noises coming from the room.

                                  Regret kept an eye on the urn as he watched Content settle in, so to speak. What was in that urn? Could it be the girl's deceased parents, or a relative? So she wasn't a stranger to death, it seemed. "Don't do things that would attract the Ministry's attention. Don't steal from this apartment. That's all for now," the man answered. Short and brief.

At his first comment about being mean, Content laughed. Of course she didn't want him to be mean, but she was not expecting this kindness from a killer. A killer that she had pissed off a few nights ago. This was a change from what she thought was going to happen. Still, the shock of it all was wearing off, and she got her playful side to resurface, "Regret, I like it rough," she purred as she took some of her clothes from the bag, placing it on the bed. Glancing over her shoulder at him, she smirked, "be mean to me." Content wondered if Regret would take her up on the offer. She knew it was bad, but she couldn't help it. There was just something in his eyes that first night they met that had intrigued her. His eyes void of compassion... it seemed so mysterious, so dangerous. Content couldn't change her stripes; she was attracted to the adrenaline like a moth to flames. Seeing him made her heart speed up, but she only attributed it to the fact that he was a killer and could turn around and kill her at any time he wanted.

She walked back to her bag and bent down, this time not bothering to be modest as her shirt drooped forward. Content even made sure to lock eyes with him while she did this, wondering if it would make him mad at her. She wanted to push his buttons, even just a little bit. She wanted to see that flame in his eyes. Just a spark. Just enough to send chills down her body. As he described to her a few more rules, she straightened, slowly, making sure that every curve was given enough time to make a statement. She didn't know exactly why she was doing this, except to see him lose it in some way. Whether bashful or angry, Content wanted to see. This man intrigued her more than any other. His habits and his mindset were so different than she was used to experiencing with a male. He didn't seem comfortable with her very much, as though she was the first female he had ever really been with. Not that they were technically together. But the point still stood. He treated her like an poisonous snake; with caution and distance, if he could help it.

When he finished describing the remainder of the rules, Content was already placing another pile of clothes on the bed, still being quite feminine with her actions. More like seductive, she smiled to herself. In response to his rules, she looked at him with raised eyebrows, "You won't have any trouble from me with the Ministry. And, don't worry, I won't be taking any of your stuff," not that there was much to steal, she thought to herself. The place seemed void of anything precious. And, even if she found something that tickled her fancy, Content knew that she would be able to find it somewhere else, so there was no need to take it from Regret.

But, then there was the want to push his buttons a little more.

"So, what about male guests? Can I bring over a few?" she spoke softly, with the hint of a tongue-in-cheek tone. How much could his sensitivities handle the thought of Content with another man in his apartment? She added, "I know I can be loud, so, I can try to keep it down, if that's what you're worried about," Content smirked again, pushing those damn buttons. She leaned on the bed, waiting for his response and reaction.

                                  "Not that kind of mean," Regret said, blushing. This woman... Was it really a good idea for him to invite her into his home? Every one of her actions suggested that he made the wrong choice. But it was too late now. Well, he was fine as long as she doesn't attempt to do anything too carnal or walk around naked. Or pin him against the wall with a blade against his throat.

                                  "Muggles will be killed on the spot. Wizards will be kicked into the streets stark-naked for a round of public humiliation," Regret responded, a hint of his sadistic side showing. "Unless you want to be kicked out, I suggest you not bring any guests over." Call him a secluded introvert, Regret hadn't brought guests into his house for at least two years until now. Content was a first for him. He didn't exactly like strangers in his home who didn't get his explicit acceptance to be in the living space.

Well, Mister Killer was being a stick in the mud tonight, she thought to herself as she went over to the bag one more time for the rest of her stuff. It made her a little sad that she couldn't even have fun with a few men in this place, but she was just a guest in his house. She could at least respect his wishes to be left alone and not have any strangers in the house. She would just have to go to other places to have a good time. Content had done it since she began being a thief, afraid of showing off all her nice things to the wrong people. Whenever she did decide to bring over a guy or two, she was careful to make sure they didn't leave with the information that could get her caught. They were stone dead by morning. Removing their bodies was the hard part. But at least this way it was easier for her. She didn't need to worry about bringing them over, killing them, and then hiding the body if Regret was serious about her not bringing anyone over.

Although he was being so serious at the moment, Content had noticed a blush forming on his cheeks. It was success to her. Including when he commented on how he would throw someone out on the street for 'public humiliation'. That got her all jittery and excited. The fact that a hint of his cruelty emerged in that split second made Content remember the look in his eyes those nights ago. If this was something that excited her, maybe she really did need to see new people, go out and explore the night life. Perhaps she just needed to meet a new toy to get Regret out of her mind? A strong fellow, who looked good and had a charming smile. Maybe she was just lonely and found comfort in the company of Regret? Even though he was a prude murderer, maybe it was better than when she was in her apartment alone? Was that the reason that she couldn't get him out of her head? Or was it really because she was addicted to the danger he promised her?

She placed the final stack of clothing down on the bed and sighed, "Very well, little boy," Content brushed a strand of hair from her face, looking over at where Regret stood. Suddenly, the air seemed thick, like she couldn't breathe. It enveloped her for a moment, making her heart skip a few beats. Was this actually happening? Was she really about to stay in a room, in Regret's apartment, with Regret in the next room over? This was a recipe for disaster. A beautiful mess, she reminded herself.

Content sat down on the bed, tempted to take off her clothes while Regret was there, but she decided to give him a warning, "Good night," she eyed him with intrigue. He was like a science project. What happens when you add this? Or that? What if you shake it? Or turn it upside down? What about if you warm it up? Freeze it? The possibilities were endless. His dark innocence made her laugh as she pulled out her wand. Placing it on the nightstand beside her, she wondered if Regret was still standing there. In any case, she was tired. So, giving him enough time to close the door and scurry away, she began to strip down for the night. The tight skirt was the first to go. She casually tossed it on the ground beside where her bag was. Even though she hated doing it, she would have to sleep with makeup on for the night. She was far too tired to take it off and to continue bothering Regret to fetch her a towel.

When everything was good and off, Content slid under the covers, brushing the dust away from the comforter. She reached for her wand and waved it, the lights dimming around her. Content didn't realize how tired she was until she closed her eyes and let her body relax. The day's events had taken their toll on her, and she was out in moments. She had a dream about Regret, which both terrified and excited her.

                                  Good night? It wasn't that late yet. Regret got the message as Content started to take her clothes off, regardless of whether he was still at the doorway or not. He became flustered and nervous at the sight, that a woman would take her clothes off in front of another man. A stranger too. "Good night!" Regret exclaimed, grabbing the door knob and slamming it shut.

                                  Once his eyes were safe, he let out a sigh of relief, then turned his attention to this desolated apartment. It no longer held the life it once had. Even if the sun shone bright at its zenith, no light seemed to penetrate through the open windows. The death's aura seemed to linger, even if there were no ghost in this apartment. He was surprised that this air hasn't attracted many dark creatures to live in this depressing space yet.

                                  With a second sigh, Regret entered his own room, closing and locking his door behind him. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.

Content woke up early, her body feeling both refreshed and exhausted. Yesterday had done a number on her emotionally and physically, so it was no surprise that she was feeling like she did. She yawned and stretched, feeling some of her joints popping and releasing some tension. The bed was not very comfortable, but at least it was a place to rest her head at night. Plus, Content could fix that with some quick thief fingers, and a foam mattress to throw onto the mattress. Today she needed to go shopping. There was no way around it. She put it off last night, but now she needed to get off her pity of losing a place and make this place a temporary haven until she could find a new one. It was still dark out, she could tell by how cold the room was. She shivered as she slipped out from under the covers and went to the window. Pulling back the curtains, her assumptions were correct. The sun was no where to be seen. The night was dying, though, this much Content knew. There was still time to go out.

She turned and went to the pile of clothes that she had knocked onto the floor in her sleep. She put on some panties and one of her favorite bras, and pulled out some dark clothes. Long-sleeved black shirt that hugged her tightly, and pants to match. It was easier to be hidden in the shadows if you blended in with them. Otherwise, you stuck out like a sore thumb, and people would see you sneaking around their home. So, she pulled these dark articles of clothes on, and dug around the pile a little more. Finding a hair tie, Content pulled her hair back so that she could see what she was doing. On top of all this, she realized, she had forgotten to grab her sneaking shoes. This frustrated her, but didn't slow her down. Instead, she threw on some black socks. It was a little silly, but they did the job. Just until she could get her hands on a pair of black shoes. That would be an easy grab, though. As she made a mental list of things she needed to get, she applied one of her lipsticks. This one would have to be the killing one. Just in case.

When all was in order, Content grabbed the black bag she had brought with her, slung it over her shoulder and across her body. She opened the window of her room, feeling the cold of the early morning pierce through her clothes. She didn't need to go far to find a nice place to rob, she just needed to find a few things that almost any house would have. Looking at the building opposite her, Content grabbed her wand from the bedside table and apparated there, apparating around until she found a place that seemed promising. It was only a few minutes in her search that she found a penthouse, which screamed jackpot in Content's heart and mind. She jumped down to the window. Looking inside, Content's heart sped up. There were so many things in there that she could use. These people had really, really nice things. Even their television screamed to Content. With a nod of approval, Content waved her wand. The window flew open and Content slipped in like a shadow. As soon as she stepped in, she began to fill her bag with goodies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Apparating back to her room, Content slowly lowered the television onto the ground. It was a nice television, nothing too big or too fancy. It was obviously small enough for her to carry here. Content couldn't help herself with it. It reminded her of the set she had at her old place, and she simply couldn't leave it alone, could she? Granted, she had no idea how she was planning to put it up in the apartment. Maybe she could convince Regret to hook it up? Honestly, only he knew if it could work. If not, Content would have to find a fence who could move it somewhere else. The thought upset her, mostly because she had already grown sort of attached to it. It was a really nice television. And it would help liven this dead place up with its noise. That was a trick Content had learned while living alone. The television and radio were two mediums of sound that could help a girl feel a little less lonely. The voices would add a bit more to the empty apartment.
She took off the bag next, slowly lowering it onto the ground. Some stuff had shifted, but it was not enough to break anything. Opening the flap, Content examined all her new things. She managed to get a nice pair of black sneaking shoes, some more pairs of going-out shoes, and a few outfits. These things, she tossed aside to the already messed up piles of clothes on the ground by the bed. Content also managed to find some nice pearls and diamond earrings, which she quickly placed on the nightstand so they would not get lost. Next, she pulled out a foam mattress cover, which took up a lot of room, even rolled up like it had been. This, she tossed onto the surface of her bed. A cheap steal, but Content managed to steal a radio alarm. She loved her old one and missed waking up to muggle music; she had grown fond of them. Under this clock, there were lots of small little precious things that she took, hoping to impress a new fence with them. She put these aside and pulled out her greatest steal. Well, it wasn't the most valuable, but it was a good-looking suit. And it wasn't even for her. Placing the suit down for a moment, she pulled out a pad of paper and Sharpie that she had also stolen and wrote a note. Content ripped the page out from the pad and grabbed the suit, standing up to fully take it in.
Inspecting the suit, Content was pleased with her choice. It was a very handsome suit. She draped it over her arm and went over to her pile of shower goods, grabbing a few of them. Walking out of her room, Content first dropped off her shower things in the bathroom, then folded the suit as nicely as she could. It had been a few years since she had folded anything, but this attempt was not as bad as she thought it would be. It came out quite nicely. She smirked as she quietly made her way down the hall, placing the folded suit in front of Regret's door for him to see the moment he opened the door. Then, she kissed the note, placing it onto the suit. The note simply read, 'Let's go out again tonight'. She hoped he would take her up on her offer, but she had to understand that he had a job and a life of his own; if he didn't have time to hang out with her, she needed to keep a level head about it and not get too upset. Besides, she still had business to attend to herself. Perhaps she was just hoping that she could kill two birds with one stone, hanging out with Regret and finding a fence all at once. Was it selfish of her?
Content made her way to the bathroom and closed the door behind her. It was time to get ready for the day. She turned on the shower water, and waited a few moments for it to warm up. While waiting, she took off the black clothes that she had been running around in. Her feet were freezing from the cold of the early morning. Luckily, the shower warmed up quickly and she was able hop in and begin her shower routine. It felt good to shower away the cold of the morning. To wash away the sleepiness. She stood under the stream of warm water for a long time before actually beginning to lather shampoo in. So much had gone on in the last twenty-four hours, she didn't really have a chance to just sit and think about nothing.
✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖
                                  Regret had a nightmare. He dreamed that he was repeatedly assaulted by a very vivacious woman, and he somehow gave her permission to life with him at his apartment. He did not sleep well that night, that was for sure, since it took him a good three hours for him to fall asleep. Regret wouldn't be surprised if he developed some sort of odd insomnia or something. In any case, his case of fatigue could be shown by how late it was. The sun was already high in the sky, and looking at the clock, it was already ten in the morning. He had overslept a ton.
                                  He groggily got out of bed and sluggishly put on his black t-shirt. Was this the first normal day for him? Perhaps not, since upon opening his bedroom door, he found a nicely folded suit with lipstick on a piece of paper. Instantly, Regret knew that the dream was actually real and that it all happened over the past 48 hours. Dear god. Now he was fully awake and alert, realizing that there was a thief and an insane woman in his home. What in the world was he thinking?
                                  The suit though... Although it looked nice, he didn't know whether or not it was stolen. Even if he was a killer, he wasn't a thief, taking things that wasn't his. But what about having things stolen and given to him? The owner of the property did change before it would become Regret's. No, no, it was still morally wrong. Ha. How ironic, for a murderer to think about molarity. Of course, this was all assuming the suit was even stolen from the start. Regret would find out later, when Content comes back from wherever she was.
                                  He picked up the suit and the note and placed it on his desk, the closed and locked the door. The snake was still sleepy, even after the little surprise at his door. A yawn escaped his lips as he made his way to the bathroom to start his normal routine. Or belated routine, since he was usually at the Phelps Manor at this hour. Xilan would be angry, or he wouldn't care. Or perhaps would give him a break for suffering through a couple rounds of the Cruciatus Curse.
                                  The man sighed and opened the bathroom door, only to be hit by a blast of warm mist. Dear god! Regret's face flushed as he slammed the door closed. "Lock the door, woman!" he exclaimed. Though it was his fault, since he was the one who didn't notice the showering noise coming from the bathroom. Now Regret was one hundred percent awake.
Content had finished shaving and lathering her body with a body wash that she had managed to throw into her big black bag when Regret had barged in to the bathroom. The body wash was a pleasant smell to her; vanilla. One of her favorite scents, in fact. It was one of the few times during her stay at the orphanage when she would be happy. Why? Well, every time it was her birthday, the people working at the orphanage would give her a little vanilla cake with a single strawberry on top. Her next favorite scent. Which was what her shampoo and conditioner smelled of. She reminded herself of that single happy moment each year in that horrible place when she smelled those smells. There were few moments that made Content happy, and those memories were the only few she could recall from her childhood. Even though the scents added a little sultry and sweet mix to her presence, it had never been an issue before. In fact, most men seemed to like the way she smelled, always thinking that she was some sort of strawberry shortcake with legs.
However, when Regret walked in and then slammed the door shut, Content only laughed. She had, sincerely, forgotten to lock the door, not being used to it from living alone. It didn't bother her either way, but Regret seemed very uncomfortable with the idea of having seen her steamy, wet naked self standing there. Whether or not he saw very much, Content had no idea. And she really didn't mind. Regret was a man that would not touch her in any manner that degraded her or her body. For a murderer, he seemed very respectful - or just uncomfortable - with the idea of a woman's body. That much was evident in his display of discomfort the night he came to visit her. He had practically lost control of all thought processes and his hands went up into the air as though she were a deceased creature. While it was adorable, it also slightly hurt Content's feelings. There were few men that could keep their hands off her curves and body. In fact, Regret was the first one to avoid touching her altogether.
She turned off the water soon after Regret's intrusion, letting the remainder of the water drip off her before stepping out. Grabbing the nearest towel, Content began to dry off. She had moved her hair and makeup products into the bathroom right before scurrying in, knowing that this would be the best place to get it all done. Better than in the bedroom which had no mirror. She leaned in towards the mirror. First, she did her makeup. Nothing too fancy. A more natural look with a dark eyeshadow to encompass her eyes. It made her eyes a little narrower, more intense. Her lips were a beautiful burgundy color. When she was pleased with the light amount of blush she applied, she went on to do her hair. Blow drying it with her favorite hair dryer, Content decided to style her hair in the front, so that it flared out. The hair in the back was board-straight, accentuating the look in the front. She parted it on the left of her scalp, covering the right part of her face slightly. Content loved a mysterious look.
When she was done, she made sure the towel was tightly wound around her and had no chance of falling. No need to cause Regret another heart attack in one day. The poor thing wouldn't be able to handle seeing her bare skin twice in one day. She opened the door to the bathroom, and slowly emerged, the rest of the steam following her. Content looked at Regret with a smirk. He looked like he had a better control over himself now, rather than being in a panic. And... was he wearing a t-shirt? It made him look so small and scrawny underneath it, but Content felt herself examining him a little more than she had wanted. Her eyes were tracing the outline of his body, now that the suit was out of the way. There were some bruises on him, from when he 'fell down', or whatever excuse he gave her the other day. Her eyes automatically went to his face, to inspect how that bruise was doing. If she knew anything about healing magic, she would offer to help reduce how red it was getting. Her eyes then went to his eyes, and she couldn't take it any longer.
Content glanced away long enough to say, "Are you busy tonight, little boy?" her voice was sultry, and she really couldn't help it. In fact, she had no idea why, but she felt suddenly really... no, she commanded in her thoughts. Not with Regret. Not now. Not ever. Content would need to go get her kicks somewhere else. With someone else. Anyone else. How could she even consider...? She must have been lonelier than she previously thought. Anyone with a pulse, apparently, she joked with herself. Still, the idea put a lump in her throat and she had to make sure that the towel was still snug against her body and not trying to fall off. That... that would be really bad.
                                  Regret leaned against the wall in the hallway, watching the door. He felt like a creeper doing so, though he preferred to think of himself as a predator getting ready to pounce on its prey. Except the “prey” was Content, and if he pounced onto her, he would be the one to die. Mostly because the woman would be half-naked, or something of the sort. He didn’t remember seeing any change of clothes in the bathroom, which meant Regret should probably lock himself in his room until Content gets out. But it was too late, since with the creak of the door Content emerged from the bathroom, with nothing but a towel to hide her curves.
                                  A moment of silence, like the calm being a storm. He wouldn’t exactly describe this situation as a warning of a future calamity, but it did give him a sense of danger. It was perhaps a habit, rather than anything substantial though. After all, Regret hasn’t looked someone in the eyes for a long period of time, unless that person was a dying muggle. The snake sank its fangs into the misery of defenseless muggles, after all. Muggles weapons were no match against his wand, though that may be because he never encountered an automatic weapon, whatever they used it for.
                                  Muggle weapons. He had limited experience with them. In the dark summer nights of London, in a windy dark alley was a mob, a raid of some sort. Regret was nearby, and heard deafening sound of fireworks, “guns”, what the muggles called them. Witches and wizards, although possessors of magic, would be too slow to block or deflect the shards of metal traveling at inhuman speeds. Regret wanted to have a taste of confronting an armed muggle, but he knew it would be dangerous. Ha. How funny, a pureblood afraid of muggles. Xilan would not be happy, if Regret would be wounded or killed by a species deemed lowly. First it would throw off the argument that purebloods were the best. Second, it would refute the argument that muggles were weak and therefore should not be allowed to live. Third, it would show how incapable and incompetent Regret was. There was no need to further sully his family’s name. Not that it already was.
                                  It depends on what my boss wants me to do,” Regret answered Content. Some days, Xilan would throw missions after missions at him, sometimes overwhelming him with tasks to do. On other days, Regret would simply lounge around for hours to no end. It all depended on the circumstances, since his “job” was really just being a psychotic killer. They don’t really have schedules.
                                  I need to ask you,” Regret started speaking. “That suit, did you steal it?” Not that he cared, really, after much deliberation. He just wanted to know if some human wore this before him, and how much cleaning Regret had to do before wearing the suit. Although the suit looked tidy and clean, it still needed to undergo some extra washing by Regret. After all, he didn’t want to swim in another man’s (or crossdressing woman) sweat. The thought of it repulsed the Slytherin.
Content mistook Regret's wariness of germs for disapproving of her stealing, "Tell your boss to take a hike tonight. And what I steal is none of your business," she was in front of him in a second. Her scent was heavy in the air, the smell of vanilla and strawberries encasing them. It was almost intoxicating with how much was around. It was a scent that didn't irritate the nose, no matter how much of it there was. It was always light. The steam of the shower rolled out of the bathroom and even a little from her skin, which was still just a bit damp from it. Her body was nice and warm from the water and from her heart racing in her chest at the sight of Regret. She knew that she told herself no, that she wouldn't, that anyone but Regret, but her biggest pet peeve was the word 'no' being told to her. Even by her own head. She just couldn't handle it. When a wall was erected, she wanted to break it down. Content wanted to find a way around, over, or through it. There was always a way to do it, to get on the other side of the 'no' wall. Content was always interested in finding ways. Unique ways, casual ways, even sensual ways. But she would find herself on the other side of that wall, dammit.
Her hand went to one side of Regret's head and she looked up at him with intense eyes as she lowered her head. She looked up through thick lashes, covered in mascara and beautifully defined with every stroke she had dared to make. Her intense makeup looked more so at this angle, in this light, in this situation, and Content used it to her advantage each time she blinked. Her dark brown eyes looked into his grey ones, daring him to move, daring him to oppose her. She wanted to feel either his embrace or his roughness. Actually, with a moment of thought, she found herself wanting both. Content wanted to see the flare of his murderous side, to see that animalistic nature in him that she had seen at their first meeting. The glint in his eye as he went on the hunt. She wanted to see that again, and she was even alright with the concept of that glint being directed at her. Call her a sadist, but she wanted to feel for once. All her life, she lived in a glass house, inside and out of her physical body. There was nothing substantial in anything she did.
Everything she did and said... it was all for show, she was always detached. There but never really there. Right now, she was the most 'Content' she had ever been since her parents passed away. She pressed herself against Regret, suffocating him in her presence, making him the most uncomfortable he had ever been, "Little boy, why don't you just kill me?" she pressed her lips on his neck, taking a small bite, to trigger something - anything - in defense. She found herself kissing his neck and jawline, her free hand rubbing his chest. Content wanted to feel his heart racing under her palm, wanted to make the hunter feel like the hunted. She was getting her kicks out of this, finding this both amusing and arousing to her in more ways than she wanted to admit. It was like a part of her that had died a long time ago had suddenly awakened. It stirred in her and made her angry, happy, sad, and anxious all at once. Her skin didn't feel like hers anymore, and she felt like she was someone different. Hell, she even felt like the name Content Rowan was wrong at this point.
"What keeps you from doing it?" she found her voice was hoarse as she whispered in his ear, biting the earlobe. Again, she was pushing him. She wanted to know. Content was curious why he was being so kind to her, why he hadn't simply killed her when he had the chance. Why, even now, was she still alive? Then, on top of this, part of her wanted to see if he would even try. She had nothing - quite literally nothing - to lose. The only thing to her name was that she was a well-known muggle thief. A student from Hogwarts that had worked at the Ministry before disappearing from the wizarding world for a good many years. Content Rowan was alone. Content Rowan was a nobody and she currently had nothing. No house, no nice things, no stable life. So what if she smacked the hornet's nest a few more times? She did it for the thrill. She did it because she could. But, mostly, she did it because she wanted to.
