My parents always seem to greet someone new who we've never seen before the moment we hit a Chinese filled area or in a restaurant. xd Me and my bro are like, "Who the hell are these guys then? Hm... let's hazard a guess. Another aunt??"

My family also has quite a lot of connections, though much more on my mother's side. There's already two lots of relatives on both my mum's and my dad's side, and then a dozen more other families whom my mum and dad know, either from childhood, school, or work. Even so, I think my family's connections aren't really that big.

Reaction translated from either Cantonese, Hakka or Mandarin: "My goodness, is that your daughter? The last time I saw her she was such a cute baby! *makes stupid cute face* How old is she? FIFTEEN?! Gee, it really has been a long time. So I hear she goes to so and so school now, congratulations, what a clever girl! And I hear your son's gotten into so and so too! *sees brother hiding behind sister* Oh my! Here we are! Haven't you grown too, eh?? You're almost as tall as your sister! *big false grin* I guess cleverness really runs in your family, doesn't it? *ken and me have blank faces on - yeah right, b***h* Doesn't your Vivien look so much like you now ____ (insert parent's name)? Your son too!" Sje grins again arrow mrgreen Gah. stressed They're all so fake and obviously hate me and Ken.... But they have their own private and fair reasons for hating us... I can't say I blame them sometimes.... sweatdrop

Hey, it happens on Gaia too. Connected vendors/exchangers can get items from friends at like 100k less than market or even better.

I don't have that sort of thing happening to me much, since most of my relative live in other parts of the country. But every once in a while, we run into an "old family friend that we haven't seen since my parents got married," and my sister and I always have to greet them, even if we don't know them. x_X
