Early nights gave off a feeling of calm to Vremea during the time she worked at the library. It was quiet, yes, but it was a comforting quiet— not the tense quiet that would sometimes take over the libraries walls. Many trolls used this place as a meeting spot, to head into another place, while other simply... Searched for things diligently and quickly, as if their life depended on it.
Like some troll was doing now.
Couldn't they act calmer? The book wasn't going to fly out of their hands, and it certainly wouldn't kill anyone to make less noise in a library. It was hindering her reading, as well as disrupting the other trolls. Some stirred and two trolls complained about the ruckus, just loud enough for her to hear. This isn't good, she thought, and she couldn't help but Vremea stood up from her chair and walked over to the desk of the rushed peron, tapping their desk lightly to get their attention. "Um, excuse me sir, but could you perhaps try to search things at a different, preferably slower pace?" The fellow lowblood nodded and tried to pace himself, looking better at each paragraph. Although her pout was still there, and her expression was unchanged, you could see a small change in her demeanor. Tonight is a calm night.
Vremea walked back to her chair and sat on it, pulling out one of the notebooks she kept under her desk when she wasn't interested in the books she read. She pulled out a pencil and opened the book to a specific page— a new dress she had been working on-and-off for a few days. It was pretty simple, but the material she had chosen for it... May have been a bit too expensive. Nevertheless, it was just an idea, and she wasn't necessarily going to try and get it. Vremea exhaled longingly. If only I could, though. I'd be able to make them and wear them and other trolls would be so surprised and ask who made the design it and I'd be able to tell them... Me. I made the design, and my friend sewed it. And then when she became popular and she created clothes for trolls all around the world, she would try to show trolls that fashion was not to be taken lightly, that fashion wasn't just... Clothes that could be worn again and again without matter. It's expression in the simplest form.
Vremea sighed in disappointment at her idiotic fantasies. If they could happen, she would be the happiest troll on Alternia.
But life just didn't turn out the way trolls wanted, so she just continued sketching out her ideas.

Tonight was a boring night. The library was a boring place. So why on this boring night did Minist make her way to a boring place? Her friend was there. Her friend was there and Minist was going to take her from that boring place and make the night un-boring. It had been a while since she had seen Vremea and since everything seemed so boring she decided it was time to pay her a visit and have a little fun. Really, it was more like a rescue mission. Vremea spent too much time cooped up in stuffy libraries. Too much time in the silence. Minist was going to take on a fun and exciting adventure! Where were the going, what would they do? Hell if she knew!
Stepping into the building Minist locked on her target immediately. There she was, sitting behind the front desk, scribbling in her notebook. The poor thing! Minist simply had to correct the wrong that was being committed here! This was night for excitement! Not sitting around!
As sneakily as she could Minist made her way closer to the desk, trying to avoid detection. She was going to be stealthy in her mission! Crouching down she snuck her way around the desk and behind Vremea. Luckily the yellowblood seemed far to absorbed in whatever she was doing to notice the troll sneaking around behind her. Once she was in position Minist stretched herself up with a grin on her face. If any of the library patrons happened to be watching they might have thought Minist was about to place some harm upon their library worker. This was not the case at all! This was an attack without ill intentions!
In a flash Minist had clapped her hand over her friend's mouth as her arm wrapped around her. Putting her lips close to Vremea's auticulor sponge clots she whispered, "You're taking the night off, Vremmy. You're coming with me~" She made she to keep her voice cheery and pleasant, she didn't want her friend to think she meant harm! Just little scare as a joke. Without missing a beat she lifted her friend from her chair and attempted to drag her towards the exit.

Vremea was going to scream.
She hadn't noticed the criminal sneak behind her, hadn't payed enough attention when she saw a black blob of hair slide behind her, hadn't even looked when she saw the shadow against her paper.
It wasn't until she was bound that she realized she was trapped. And then two hands came out of no where and locked her in the delinquent's grip, firmly locking a hand over her mouth. She let out a muffled shriek, flailing and doing her best to get the perpetrator's grip loose. Her head than pushed forward, her mouth opening and trying to bite the back of the trolls hand, to make him or her let go of her mouth. She cursed her teeth for being dull and not sharp, oh gods if she had sharp teeth or at least a tooth out, she would be able to mooch into this trolls arm like a waterbeast! Oh god, she was going to die, she was going to die and she thought this was a safe job a job where she wouldn't get noticed or culled oh god oh god please please she didn't want to die yet she had to take care of Yakmom oh god she was going to cry she was going to cry like a wiggler and she was going to die oh please please PLEASE LET GO I'LL GIVE YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT JUST PLEASE DON'T CULL ME PLEASE I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG—
And then the whisper she heard made her stop thrashing.
"You're taking the night off, Vremmy. You're coming with me~"
The fight in her just slipped out of her bones and she let herself be carried out. No one heard or saw a thing.
It was the perfect crime.
When they reached outside, Vremea shoved Minist away from her. Yes, she may have been cute, yes, her hair was adorably ruffled in every perfect way no matter how many times she saw her, and yes, her legs turned to slime whenever she talked to her, but that didn't mean she could just go waltzing into her library and steal her away from work! Harboring a frightened yet pained expression, she couldn't help but look to Minist, eyebrows knit together— but not in worry. "Why did you do that?! You scared the living night lights out of me! I thought I was going to be culled!" Vremea exclaimed, pressing her hands against her temples. She closed her eyes and turned around. "Minist, I'm sorry but that was uncalled for! You could have just notified me and I could see if I could get the night off! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to work!"

Minist paid no mind to the struggles of her victim. They disappeared quickly enough as she cheerfully dragged her outside. Once they exited she freed her friend and chuckled as she was shoved in response. Then she rolled her eyes as she was told off. "Oh lighten up, it was just a little prank!" she said lightheartedly as Vremea turned away from her. Her smile dropped as she listened. "Hey wait!" she said as she reached out and grabbed her arm to prevent her from marching back inside. "O.K., sorry, but I hadn't really planned this out, ya know? I would have sent you a message, or something, but I decided to do this on the fly." She smiled. She felt a bit bad for scaring her as bad as she did, but she still thought it had been pretty funny. Now she just needed to convince Vremea that skipping work was a good idea. It was time to turn on the charm.
Batting her lashes she said, "Come on, Vremmy! You've been working too hard! Skipping out for one night of a little fun won't hurt anyone, right? I've been wanting to hang out for a while but you always seem so busy!" She made a little pouting face as she grabbed both of Vremea's hands and held them up, looking pitifully in her eyes. "Pleeeeeeease? Just one night?" Vremea couldn't refuse her begging barkbeast routine, it was flawless!

Vremea stopped in her tracks. Her eye twitched. "A prank?" She looked at Minist, giving her the Eye— something she only did when she was extremely mad. "To you it was a prank! I thought I was actually getting kidnapped! I could see my life flash before my eyes like lightning!" She exclaimed as Minist grabbed her hand. She sighed and was about to lecture her again, but this time, decided to hear her out. "Well next time, think about how the other troll would feel— and think about what you'll do ahead of time other than it being a spur of the moment. Now let me go, I have other trolls to attend t—"
...Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no... There they are. Bark beast eyes. She... Oh goodness, why did she have to be so useless against those... Vremea tried to steel herself against the pouting, and refused to look at her face, instead looking straight ahead and trying to wrench her hand out of the other yellowblood's. "I have reasons to be busy, you know! I haven't been doing all of this... for..."
Darn it. "For..." Both hands? Both hands, really? She was... Ugh. Vremea looked to her left and a light yellow tint radiated off her skin. "...Fine. But do not expect me to be all for whatever we do! Also, you are taking full responsibility of whatever happens, alright?!"

Hook line and sinker! Minist lit up as Vremea finally caved. Dropping her hands she threw her own in the air. "Yes!" she celebrated. "Don't worry your pretty little head, Vremmy! It'll be fine." She said as she grabbed her hand again and starting marching off. Tonight was a night of travels, hanging out in the desert just wouldn't do! Steering them towards the train station she said, "I say we go hang out in the forest tonight. There's always lots to do out there." Then she looked over her shoulder and smiled at Vremea. "And don't worry! I know for a fact they aren't holding any hunts tonight!" she said reassuringly. Vremea was still mad at her for her little stunt so she wanted to make sure she wouldn't start freaking out on her. She wanted to have some fun with her friend. If she was freaking out on her that wouldn't be any fun at all.

"When you say that, I cannot help but worry more," Vremea mumbled, tucking her hair behind her ear and letting herself be dragged to the trains station. She turned to look at Minist when she mentioned the forest, and couldn't help but purse her lips unsurely. "But... The hunts..." "...don't worry! I know for a fact they aren't holding any hunts tonight!" Vremea stared at her quizzically— "Are you sure? How exactly do you know of this?" She asked as she walked next to her, a hand clutching the hem of her dress nervously— she didn't want to die today. Especially not after that scare.

How did she know? Minist had to stop a moment and stare at her. "Well, you know how highbloods can be. They wanna gather up as many trolls together and make a big hullabaloo out of it. I like to be in the know on events and stuff. If a hunt was going on they would have been talking about it and I would have heard it." she said before smiling and adding, "Besides, even if there were any hunts going on I wouldn't let them get you. I'd beat up every one of those bastards first." She gave Vremea's hand a little squeeze and then continued on.
Once they got to the station Minist bought their tickets and dragged Vremea into one of the cars. Plopping herself in one of the seats she stretched and smiled. "Man, just thinking of what kind of adventure we could have is making me excited. You ever climb a tree before, Vremmy? Oh I can't wait to get there and explore. It's been a long time since I went to the forest. Lately I've been wandering around New Hemisect or working on my projects. Won't it be nice to have a change of scenery?" she chatted away before looking at Vremea brightly.

Vremea stared at Minist and turned away, hoping her face wasn't as yellow as it felt it was. "Well then, um, thank you in advance, should a situation like that happen." She responded, fighting a smile and keeping her face completely neutral, like she always was. She squeezed back, obviously, feeling her expanding and collapsing vascular system squeeze instead of her hand— her voice was caught up, and eventually Vremea started thinking of ways to get herself to calm down. She started thinking about her job— she really shouldn't have left so abruptly. She... what if she was going to get fired?
What if... She couldn't go back? She would die, she needed that money and...
Vremea almost started pulling her hand away from Minist, about to run back— but when she realized Minist had already bought the seats, she couldn't. It was a hefty walk back, and they were already at the station. She couldn't just leave— she needed to calm down and have fun for once. When Minist sat down and started talking, Vremea sat down herself, into the chair next to her. "Actually, believe it or not, I have! One time when I was still a kid, my friend's lusus was stuck up in a small tree. I was the only one with the guts to do it." Or maybe I was the only one they asked? Nevertheless, she climbed a tree, and that was what she asked. "It might be nice for a change in scenery..." She mumbled, looking out the window at the rolling sands. "Oh, New Hemisect? I have not been there in quite a while." Just thinking about that place made her think of Odette. Vremea touched her hair a little, feeling a little nervous. She didn't have her satchel with her... "Projects? Like what?" Vremea blinked. "And I know this is nosy of me, but did you ever figure out what you were trying to do the first time we met?"

"Oh wow!" Minist said, sitting up a little straighter as Vremea explained her experience with trees. "That is so cool, Vremmy! You were like a regular hero!" she continued before giving a short laugh. Her eye's followed her friend's and they watched the sand dunes whizz by. As Vremea questioned about her projects she perked up again and looked at the yellowblood. "Oh you know, dismantling a DVD player, untangling wires, stuff like that." she said. Then she had to think a moment about Vremea's other question. "Hm? What was-Oh! Yeah, I remember now! It was some tiny motor, after reading that book you loaned me I found it it was from some suction cleaning device! Yeah, I totally tore that thing apart! You would not believe how many tiny parts it had!" As she remembered the thrill of removing each little part Minist practically glowed. It was such a marvel seeing how each tiny mechanism fit with the rest and how it worked all together.
The train hit a rough patch on the rails, jostling Minist out of her stupor. Whoops, got a little carried away there in her own thinkpan. Giving the back of her neck a nervous rub she grinned at Vremea. "So you think you'd be up for climbing a tree with me? Imagine the view we could get!" she said as her mind turned away from the past and into the near future.

Vremea giggled nervously. "Not a hero," she stated, "Just a troll helping out." Her smile slid back into her neutral pout unconsciously, and Vremea tilted her head at her. "Oh... wow. Interesting." In reality she was slightly intrigued by it, but not enough to ask more about it. A bit disappointed by the fact she needed to think about it for a small period of time(was she really that forgettable?), she pushed the disappointment away and stared at how excited and happy Minist became when she talked about dismantling the cleaning device. Machine. Thing. She looked so passionate about it, so happy she could just fly out of the train and into troll heaven.
Vremea was startled by the bump, heart almost falling out of her chest. She breathed, trying to calm down. Looking toward Minist, Vremea nodded vigorously. "Yes! Of course." Climbing a tree was something she only dreamed of doing with another troll. Although the view from Four Fronds was already nice, the view from the top of one of those tall trees... Vremea could hardly wait. "Four fronds already is a beautiful place. Maybe we could wander around in the forest a bit, or..." Vremea's eyes shone like stars in the sky. "—maybe... We could jump into the lake?" Oh she loved swimming, she loved it! Turning toward Minist, she looked at her with excited eyes. She felt like a little kid again, so curious as to what would happen, so excited to do different things. She sighed dreamily. She suddenly didn't feel any regret— going on this little trip with Minist. She was already looking forward to the fun.

Minist blinked as her friend suggested they jump into the lake. She would have never guessed Vremea to want to do that. After all, didn't some sea dwellers have hives at the bottom of the lake? She thought Vremea was terrified of highbloods. Her confusion by the suggestion wasn't exactly helped by the fact that Minist lacked the skill of swimming. Not being able to swim and the possibility of running into some crazy seadweller didn't sound like a good plan to her. Yet Vremea looked so excited by the idea. It was good to see her friend finally get comfortable and enjoy herself. Minist didn't want to squash her enthusiasm when that's what she was trying to get out of her, but even she had a line she wouldn't cross.
"Heh, yeah, but there's just ooooooone tiny little problem with that idea, Vrem. I can't swim." she said with a grimace. Hopefully Vremea wouldn't be too disappointed and just drop that whole line of thought. It would be so much better to just run around in the trees.
Taking a glance out the window she saw that the sands had disappeared and the looming mountains had grown larger. On the opposite side of their compartment she could see the forest. In a couple minutes they'd arrive at the station at the base of the mountains and then continue on their way towards Four Fronds. Minist hoped she could drag Vremea away from the view of the lake quickly and the two of them could disappear into the forest and have some fun by themselves and away from snotty highbloods.

Vremea's eyes widened. She let out a small gasp. "Y-you..." Vremea put a small, delicate hand over her mouth in dramatic surprise. "You do not know how to swim?!" She asked incredulously— haha!! Weakness uncovered! "Well that simply will not do, Minist! Every troll needs to learn to swim! What if one day, the purple bloods take over and flood the place?" She paused. "Or maybe some sort of... Climate change occurs and Chittentown turns into a beach— and our houses are flooded with water? Us lower bloods need to be prepared." Any and all possibilities of those suggestions happening were scarce, but she needed funny and ridiculous reasons to prove her point. Vremea glanced at Minist with a sly smile. "Minist! I have decided— I will teach you!!" Her eyes shone again, holding both Minist's hands in her own. "Please! It would be so exciting!" She puckered her lips into a pout, giving her her best begging stare. It was her goal. She had to teach her how to swim, she had to. It was simply something that had to be done!!
...Vremea had to admit, she was an amazing actress.

Crap. Minist stared at her hands clasped in Vremea's and then at her friend. This wasn't fair. Vremea couldn't use her own tactics against her! Vremea was just full of surprises, it would seem. Looking away uncomfortably Minist bit her lip. Vremmy was using every trick to get her to agree. This wasn't what she wanted, she had to think of something to get out of this sticky situation quickly.
"Gee, Vremmy, that sure is swell of you to offer, but I gotta decline. I mean, if I was gonna learn to swim I would prefer to do it away from all the highbloods. I don't really need to give them another reason to look down on us lowbloods. Plus there's the fact that I didn't bring an extra set of clothes with me so I'd prefer not to get soaked." she said, achieving a light-hearted quality to her voice without revealing her worry. However, while her voice may not give her away her hands sure did as they had gotten clammy. Minist yanked her hands away and folded her arms before staring pointedly out the window. Maybe she'd buckle under pressure and let Vremea teach her to swim on another night, but she was going to refuse any attempt to sway her tonight. Even if this idea would be "exciting" and Vremea did the biggest pout in the history of Alternia!
