After the Jishaku Incident, it was decided that towers were not such a great place to keep all of a village's administration. To that end, a new Administrative District was built around the hole left by Jishaku's attack. These buildings house most of the village's leadership, those who take care of anything that doesn't require the Kazekage's personal attention.
The Kazekage's office on the other hand, has been relocated to the bottom of the glass pit. A staircase carved into the pit's sides spirals downwards and into the chamber the Kazekage considers as his office.
About twenty feet above the base of the pit, a reinforced ceiling was constructed, and covered with sand and sandstone. Below this, the base of the pit was lined with sandstone for the floor and wood for the walls, to make it more appealing. The entire space is split into two rooms. The main large room being the Kazekage's office, while a smaller room houses his secretary, who's main duty is to stop visitors from simply walking into the office and facing the consequences of their rudeness. The office itself, while large, due to being the same size as the original tower, is simple, containing a single large desk and chair. A hidden tunnel leads out the back of the office into a massive empty room.

People were everywhere, either working at makeshift desks, awaiting orders, delivering reports, making complaints, and tryingto find their designated spot as Yamatano was. His ANBU guard that had been assigned to him, rather than contribute to the chaos, decided to wait outside the door. Having been in the village a few days after the fight had concluded to help and debrief, Yamatano had considered escaping from his guard to get some free time to investigate the village, looking for his target, but with Sunagakure weakened and on edge, doing that could be seen as an act of war. Yamatano wasn't fond of causing international incidents, so he had been a good boy, but hadn't made the headway he had been hoping for. Fighting the crowd, Yamatano made his way to the very end of the tent, where David's temporary office had been set up. Seeing the boy in the seat of the Kazekage made Yamatano chuckle inwardly, as well as consider what he might look like as Kage of his own village. He could only image his wristblades tearing the soft fabric of his blue kage robes, his gravity defying hair constantly offsetting the funny hat, and the robes tripping him up whenever he tried to walk on the walls. No, the title of Kage definitely wasn't for Yamatano. These villages could keep their child Kages, Kirigakure had Luo. Humor of the situation aside, Yamatano's respect for David was undiminished. As he approached the desk, Yamatano almost had to shout to be heard. "Kazekage, sir. I just wanted to inform you that I'll be leaving Sunagakure in a few hours. Next time I visit, I hope it will be under better circumstances." Yamatano awaited David's reply, or to see if the boy kage had heard him at all. “…Must first find out how to get past me.” Fiercely Loyal || Determined || Protective || Aspiring OininChakra Points: 74/74 Exploding Smoke Grenade: 5 Makibishi: 20 Shuriken: 10 Light Bombs: 5 Kunai: 0 Ninja Wire: 100 Ft. David scowled as Yamatano approached his... Station, in the chaotic tent. Not because he had anything against the boy, but because of the first word out of his mouth. Kazekage. With the chaos left after the battle, and the doubt thrown on him by Jishaku in front of far too many witnesses, it was no longer possible to simply claim he was filling in. Jade was not available to make any statement to calm the public, and without a kage to take charge the chaos would have torn the city apart from within, forget what other villages could do should the believe that Sunagakure was without leadership. Weighing the ups and downs of the decision, he found he no longer had any choice in the matter, and with foreign nin present at the time word would have gotten out about this possible kage anyways. If he was too weak to openly hold the title, that was a sign that he was too weak to defend it as well.
So he had taken on the full title of kage in the days after the fight. And already he was regretting it. A normal man would have gotten scarce few hours of sleep since the event, with all that needed to be taken care of, and everyone that wanted an audience. But before being known as a kage, everyone knew him as the Ichibi's host. And what did everyone know about the Ichibi host? Why, he doesn't need sleep, of course. The finer details, those being that he did still need rest, seemed to escape their minds.
So it was that Yamatano arrived while David was plotting how he would escape the hell that was this tent, and leave someone else to deal with things while he found better things to do. Preferably training, since he would certainly need it if he was to uphold his title, but a mission would suffice as well. Gold was of course needed for the purchase of training equipment, and as kage, he couldn't exactly be caught stealing it. Yamatano though, seemed a viable escape route, one he would gladly take.
"Have you managed to complete your mission then? I know it's probably been difficult to locate the guards, given that everyone is running about everywhere." he spoke, waving a hand, and a short glare, towards the chaos evident in the tent. Taking his chance, he also stood up at this point, waving for Yamatano to follow him as he moved towards the exit. Going outside where there was less noise would make an excellent pretense for the Kiri nin, and talking to him would make a good enough one for the people inside. Never mind that he would gladly, and quickly, vanish the moment he was done talking to the other boy.

Picking up where they left off, Yamatano replied "Unfortunately no, I haven't had much luck. Unfortunately, the Mizukage didn't give me much to go on, other than the man being a former Otogakure shinobi, and the picture. I've only seen him myself once, so I can't really describe his mannerisms to anyone." Yamatano thought of something at that moment, kicking himself for not thinking of it sooner. "Say, you wouldn't happen to have anyone who arrived from Otogakure in the village, do you? They could be instrumental in my investigation." It was a long shot, but if someone from Otogakure resided in the village, perhaps they would know the pink-clad shinobi. Surely he would be recognizable, unless that was the standard uniform of Otogakure. And given Yamatano's string of luck in the past two villages, that was all too likely. David frowned at Yamatano's question, taking a few moments to think before shaking his head. "I wasn't aware Otogakure had even reformed since Orochimaru died. It's likely that anyone associated with them is keeping it secret. Without knowing if or when the guy was here though, it would be pretty tough to dig up the records..." the boy sighed, giving a shrug. The job would be tough under normal circumstances, but now, with so much paperwork lost or destroyed, it would be even worse.
"Like I said though, you can try the gate guards. A couple of our men have held that position for a couple years now, so it's likely they would know if he'd passed through. Things have calmed down a bit now, so they're back to their normal schedule too."

True, he had searched Sunagakure itself from top to bottom, but he had never considered the gate guards. Almost all records were destroyed, so the "office" would be of no help, and with what David had just told him, Sunagakure was unaware of not only Otogakure's destruction, but it's status as a village. If anyone would know anything, the guards would. "I think I'll do just that, thanks for the tip. I guess you're gonna have to go back and deal with everyone in that tent now? I would say be prepared for sleepless nights, but.....Well, you've been preparing for that for a while now." Even before his transformation a few days ago, Yamatano had known about david's status as the Ichibi since his meeting when both of them were children, on Nagi Island, where they had both been promoted. For david to hold the position of Kage......Sunagakure had to either be incredibly desperate, or david more control over his demon than even Kaizen. "In any case, I should get going. Lord Mizukage will have my mask if I don't get back to Kirigakure soon. Next time you visit Kiri, find me. We'll have to catch up." And with that, Yamatano turned towards the village gates, his scarf flapping in the wind as he ran, his ANBU guard barely keeping up. "Like hell I'm going back in there." David scoffed as Yamatano left. He'd just escaped, there was no way he was going to go sit in that stuffy corner waiting hand and foot on every dignitary in the village. And it was every dignitary and or noble in the village too. And they all wanted one of two things. Compensation for damages from the battle, some real, some invented. And or two, to kiss his a**. Being the newly officially named leader of the village apparently meant they all had to prove their loyalties. Where loyalties, as far as he was concerned, meant trying to win his favor so he would do something for them. And really, he didn't give two shits about any of it. He was here to lead a military, not deal with whiny bureaucrats. So no, he was not wading back into that mess.
And just to put action to words, he turned and began to walk away from the tent. He was the kazekage, surely there was something elsewhere in the village that needed his attention more than this. The library perhaps. He'd heard it had collapsed, but hadn't been able to see it for himself yet. And, fact was, he was more interested in resuming his training than much else, and without the library, well, nobody was going to be doing any training anytime soon. Yes, the library was a good choice.

Raphael walked into the Administrative tent, flashing his headband, or what was left of it after the explosion. "Raphael Saki, Genin of Sunakagure. I need forms for a legal change of name and face." He said gesturing to his new face which wouldn't match records. "I apologize in advance for obtaining the surgery before filling out the paper work, but I was gravely injured due to my own error and I didn't want to see that face." He explained, thinking that even though he just explained it, it didn't make much difference. "Fine, but fill out the proper paper work in advance." The man said sighing as he looked up over other dignitaries filling out paperwork. He raised his other hand and flipped through several papers quickly and picked out paper without even stopping his flipping motion. "Here, this is the legal face change, this is the legal name change." The man said looking through his list to see what missions the ANBU had seen Raphael Saki doing previously. "One D rank mission - 225 ryo. Expenses - 80 ryo. Two D rank Rescue missions - 550 Ryo. One C rank Combat Rescue - 450 Ryo. Your total comes out to 1305 Ryo." The man said, tossing Raphael's coin pouch over to him with the money already pre-counted. Seems almost like the ANBU had told him everything Raphael was going to do already, and he'd already counted the gold out. Raphael bowed quickly, picking up one of the pencils, kneeling and using his knee to write on the forms he'd been given since almost the entire table area was in use. He wrote quickly, but legibly. He wanted to get out of the way so that others could leave and get in, but he also wanted his writing to be clear enough the Kazekage didn't kill him on the spot for having sloppy hand writing. "Done." Raphael said standing and handing the papers back to the man who glanced at them and placed them in the proper piles. "Pleasure to meet you, Chenglei Chia." The man said as he lowered his head beneath the mass of people surrounding him and resumed helping the people with piddly things the Kazekage couldn't be bothered to do at the moment. ( For reference, Chenglei means Become Great, and Chia is Chenglei's only tie to his old life meaning Merchant. )

 | Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Chuunin ||| Shinobi Profession: Teaching Master || RPC Profile ||Taking his time walking through the streets of the Sunagakure, Shinji first intended to return to the site of the battle to see if he could catch up on what had transpired there. As he walked, he pondered the words of the nurse and wondered about the Kazekage, mostly in regards to who it was. Since he had been in the village, he had never seen or dealt with the Kazekage, though David seemed to be filling the role in the absence as his attendant, or whatever they were called in this village. wondering what type of shinobi the Kazekage would be, Shinji took in his surroundings as he walked, noting that reconstruction was already underway.
"Good business for the local carpenters I suppose... rebuilding will be a long process though, it looks like more then just the one battle took place, and the marketplace looks pretty messed up. Seems like maybe some opportunistic villains took advantage of the chaos and tried to loot the stores. Stupid criminals... what did they think they were going to do?... walk out the front gate with looted goods?" Passing through the streets, Shinji could see that they were still bustling with life, which was encouraging. Sunagakure, it would seem, was a robust village which could recovery quickly from a fight and keep moving forward. The thought gladdened Shinji's heart and he picked up his pace to reach the place where the Kazekage's tower would be.
Upon arriving however, all he saw was rubble, devastation and a large tent. Not too much had changed in fact since he had engaged in the fight with David. Maybe some of the rubble was moved away and clearly the field lacked the excitement of battle, but it was still obviously the site of much destruction. It seemed that the village had erected a tent, and Shinji could see many people moving into and out of it, and could even spot some ANBU as well. it would seem that this was a temporary replacement for the Kazekage's tower and was a center of operations for the village's recovery. "No better place to start I suppose" Shinji thought to himself, and he walked at a quickened pace, entering the tent and looking around for someone in charge.
Looking around, Shinji spotted a group of Academy students coming into the tent, dirtied and tired, but still ready to work. he watched them approach a small makeshift desk with a man sitting down at it, running through several scrolls. They saluted him and reported in, then after a few quick words from the man, they rushed off again in a different direction. Shinji assumed that the man had dispatched them on a mission and so, he figured that would be the right person to talk to. approaching the desk, Shinji didn't bother to salute, but he did the man the courtesy of bringing his Suna headband into plain view before addressing him.
"Good afternoon sir. Konaga,Shinji reporting in. Seems like the village took a bit of a beating after I blacked out. I'm here to help in the reconstruction, but I'd also be interested in hearing some news on what has happened. Come to think of it, I don't even know what day it is. Could you please fill me in on what's going on before I'm sent off to help in the efforts?"

The mission desk operator looked up from his paperwork as he was approached by a young man. The name was quickly cataloged, and recognized, as he had some payments waiting for his arrival. Fishing out the proper papers and sack of gold as the boy spoke, he merely nodded to imply he was still listening. Once the boy was done, he took a moment to order his thoughts, and then spoke. "Most of what you see out there was from the initial blast. Shock wave took down a lot of older, weak buildings, and damaged stronger ones close to the source pretty badly." he explained, even as he filled in his portions of the papers and clearly marked areas Shinji needed to sign.
Pushing the papers and sack of gold forward, the man turned away and began thumbing through another stack of papers even as he spoke again. "That's for your assistance in the battle, and notable actions performed during the crisis. The papers are just to say I got it to you. Sign where marked, and you never have to think about them again." As if by an afterthought, the man's free hand reached out and spun a desktop calendar around for the boy to reference. The date was needed on the papers after all.
Turning back around with the other papers he'd pulled out, he laid them out for Shinji to see. Pointing to the first, he spoke. "This is a list of jobs and areas that need help. Simple enough." And flipping to the next, he pushed forward a rough map of the village, areas marked in various ways. "This is a map of the village's current state, from the most recent ANBU patrols. Areas with black diagonal lines are full of rubble or damaged areas. Simple cleanup jobs are marked on the list for these areas. The orange marks dangerous areas. Damage in these was pretty bad, and the buildings could cave if you're not careful. Red is crime hot spots. Looters taking advantage of the mess to try and get free stuff. Be careful if you enter those areas though. Some of them are fairly violent. We've had a few hostage situations over the last week, and some even used explosive tags. Take your pick of where to work. The ANBU will take notice and we'll get you paid accordingly. The list and map are yours to take too. You might need them." the man finished, pushing the papers forward once again, before returning to his own work, sorting and filing mission reports, as well as ANBU reports on who needed what payment. He obviously wasn't ready, or able, to give much of anyone any more time than he had already. There was simply too much to do.

Signing the forms as they were passed to him, Shinji looked at the calender, and luckily saw that the man was crossing out the days which had passed since the beginning of the reconstruction. Noting that it had been about a week since the battle, Shinji saw that it matched the typical recovery time after the Raging Spirit.
Just the thought of the event however sent an uncomfortable shiver down his spine and made a spike of pain leap through his system. Losing control for a moment, Shinji faltered, losing his grip on the table a bit, but quickly regained control and caught himself from falling forward, shaking his head to bring him back to reality. Cleanup jobs didn't really inspire him, but when he heard about a the looting going on, a smile ran across his face. "Looting eh?... guess a bandit or two is the right prescription to get back into the swing of things. Thanks for your time sir!"
Taking the map in hand, he thrust it into the sky, a theme of discovery and victory running through his head as he had acquired what would surely be a supremely useful item. The item itself seemed to levitate and spin slowly in the palm of his hand as Shinji stood motionless, holding the item aloft, staring at it with wonder. Then, just as quickly as he lifted the item up, he placed it away, the item disappearing into some magical portion of his garments to be drawn forth at a moment's notice whenever needed. With this done, he then left the tent and began to pick up his pace to a sprint, running through the streets towards the marketplace with new-found energy, ready to get back into the action.
