So... Game reccommendations. I figure we could ask for/give game reccommendations here. Excuse the fact that I'm probably spelling reccommendations wrong all the time.

I would like to recommend
'The Bard's Tale' It's a little cheesy, but its short, and funny. Its for PS2. Its dirt cheap at gamestope. Try it!

I would like to find a game... any PS2 game that is not in the Final fantasy, xenosaga, chrono, metal gear, or harvest moon family. I don't know what to get.

Hmmm, if you're into RPGs, there's a little sandbox title called Metal Saga. You name all of the playable characters, you drive tanks as well as travel on foot. I've sunk countless hours into and have never actually completed it, my PS2 crapped out on me before I could. I could suggest more, but I'd need to know what you're looking for.

As for my recommendations:
For those of you with PCs:
DayZ (Note Requires ARMA II and ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead)
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II
The STALKER series

For those of you with PS3s:
Crysis 2
Borderlands 2 (Great alone, even better with friends.)
Cawadooty: Black Ops II (Zombie mode only, and only for those of you with friends, otherwise, terrible game.)

Hmm Metal Saga...Sounds interesting. Dirt cheap too. And... 33 miles away. I'll try it if a gamestop closer to me gets it.
Thanks for the recommendation!

I play mostly rpgs. Things with good story/music. Things with feeling.
(If I had a ps3 I'd be all over Journey...)

Not at all; beyond the picture during the credits for G2, there is literally zero story connection between the two. Don't even take place in the same world. There are two more games in the series, but I haven't played them and so can't really recommend them.

Oh good. Gamestop doesn't sell ps1 games anymore so I would have had to order grandia 1. In that case that'll go on my list.

You should try the Suikoden series. Suikoden I and II are for PS1, Suikoden III, IV, and V are for PS2. The Suikoden games are about the 108 Stars of Destiny from a classic Chinese novel called the Water Margin.
You should also try Alundra and Alundra 2 for PS1. Alundra and Alundra 2 don't have anything to do with eachother, although they have memorable soundtracks and both are puzzle+boss rpgs. People who've played Alundra typically hate Alundra 2 for dropping the the whole dreamwalker plot. Most people also agree that Alundra is better than Zelda in many ways. Alundra 2 was a great game in it's own right though. Played it and beat it 3 times. Nostalgia. Damn. emo

Suikoden Intro
Alundra - The Wind that Shook the Earth Soundtrack
Alundra - The Village of Inoa
Alundra 2 - Paco Village Soundtrack
Alundra 2 - Villager Tragedy
Alundra 2 - Sunken Ship
Alundra 2 - Seagull Ruins
Alundra 2 - Demon Doll

Songs. Oh boy! I'll listen to them later, but thanks for putting some links there.
The alundra games will be put on a back-burner somewhere because gamestop doesnt sell ps1 games, but I'll keep them in mind.

Do I need to play suikoden I and II before I play the rest? (suikoden II costs a small fortune...)

Do I need to play suikoden I and II before I play the rest? (suikoden II costs a small fortune...)

No. They're all different time spans with different characters set within the Suikoden timeline.
Suikoden II is typically agreed to be the best, which is why it's so expensive. If you really can't play I or II, then go for V and III. They don't have the essence Suikoden I or II had though. Don't bother considering IV, cuz it's agreed to be terrible and short. The order, from best to worst, is II, I, V, III, IV. You could try to pirate Suikoden I and II and play them on an emulator, although I'm not sure you would feel alright about doing that. Anyways...
The main concept goes like this: After every star dies, a new Star of Destiny is eventually born. Every Star of Destiny comes into possession of a rune some point in their lives. There are 27 True Runes, from which all other runes come from. True Runes allow people to have special abilities and immortality, but each one may also bring a curse. They each also have their own egos, which may dominate whoever bears the rune and control them if their mind isn't strong enough. For instance, early in the plot of Suikoden, the main character Tir McDohl received the Rune of Life and Death, aka. the "Soul Eater" from his best friend Ted who commanded the Soul Eater to take his own soul in order to transfer it to Tir. It unlocks the Soul Eater's most powerful spell, Judgement, but also curses Tir McDohl, as he is the new bearer of the rune. The Soul Eater specifically bends fate around the bearer and causes loved ones and close friends to die earlier than they should have. If the main character successfully unites all 108 Stars of Destiny, the ending is a bit different. The Tenkai star, aka. the Chief Star of Heaven, is the first of 108 stars. The person born under the Tenkai Star usually happens to be the main protagonist, and they usually happen to unite the other stars for some kind of cause that corresponds with fate.

All intros in case you're interested (II and I were the best IMO):
