(Again sorry if this is the wrong place, I honestly feel useless when it comes to posting rules sweatdrop )

I've just done a very difficult musical theatre exam requiring a lot of time, dedication and stress, but when combined with all the other stuff to deal with right now, not a lot of sleep or health-watching. I realised after throwing myself to the floor gods know how many times during a piece from Wicked, it had taken some skin off my left knee and left it sore. Now it's attempting to heal and keeps bleeding or itching and I was wondering if there was a good method for helping to quicken that a bit? I know there are medicines I can and probably will try, but a natural salve or something sounds much better.

Hmm, if you're talking about making a salve for yourself, I'd recommend comfrey. It's good for skin repair.

Depending on whereabouts you live, certain herbs might not be available, and if you're not skilled in salve making, I'd suggest buying it instead.

I'd suggest not just buying something straight away first. It's always a good idea (especially if it's a product you haven't tried before) to check for reviews about the product, as there is always a risk of side effects/allergies, etc.

Are you looking for an energy manipulation answer (a way to quicken the energy of healing) or a herbalist answer (a way to quicken the physical healing with medicine)?

Comfrey eh? I know a shop down the street that definitely sells it dried but I dunno about fresh... Would it be worth looking up info on making salves? I'd love to learn! I've got my own pestle and mortar (two in fact) and my mum keeps a lot of cooking herbs in little jars. I'm trying to start my own herb garden again too since I used to grow organic sage.

@glasfuinneog Although I love using energy for healing I'm hoping to find a herbal method, since the skin is irritated and driving me mad. I'm scared of getting it infected but I can't stand using some of the pharmacy stuff (plus my mum wouldn't let me get any, said to let it heal naturally. LOOPHOLE! wink )

It's definitely a good idea to look up information on making salves smile Plus, if it's something that you're also interested in learning, it'd be fun. I always find that I learn better when it's something I'm actually interested in.

Plus you'd get to learn about herbs xd : I find their properties very interesting.

In that case I should definitely try that out biggrin I'll have a look in my spare time at some info about herb gardens (particularly indoor ones methinks!) before I start planting anything again, but our organic stuff didn't do too bad in the past, heck we grow an awful lot of other stuff so this'll be really fun! Thank you whee

Aloe Vera would probably do wonders for you as long as it's scabbed and not openly bleeding. I haven't used it on an open wound, however it is good to ingest too. I suggest topically applied and your mortar and pestal would make a leaf into a nice paste.

If I was in your situation, II would use witchhazel on it
and a large bandage kept on when ever I was moving my knee and then take it off at night to let it breath

Thanks for the advice everyone 3nodding my knee managed to heal nicely from being skinned, but I recently joined a youth circus group and learned that when falling off stilts you have to try and land on your knees sweatdrop so I'm glad I now know how to help with any injuries I get!

In that case, I suggest knee pads instead of comfrey xd :
