I was wondering whether any of you have a vegetable garden? We have a decent sized one. I really like it 'cause our tomatoes taste so much better than the processed ones in the shops. emotion_awesome

I would love to have a vegetable garden but our Homeowner's Association only allows for lawns, flower beds and small shrubs. I got around it by planting some grape tomatoes in containers, but they weren't getting nearly as much light as they should.
Maybe next season, if I still live here, I'll plant a cucumber vine to climb over that horrid butterfly bush my mother has next to the porch. It blocks most of the light onto the porch itself, so it may as well be the support for some cukes, right?

♥ My partner and I have an orchard in our backyard and although I would love to have a vegetable garden we don't need to since my father-in-law ploughs over an acre of soil and it is always filled with corn, peas, potatoes, pumpkins, tomatoes, etc.

We try time and again.... My mom and I just don't have green thumbs. The only thing food related that survived is our orange (or was it lemon?) tree.

❝ I agree. Homegrown tomatoes are divine.
I am currently growing bok choy, carrots, and garlic. A lot of garlic. xd ❞

My brother and cousin have a little crop out in the yard they started earlier this year but it didn't take. My bf and I are set on growing an organic garden but they started using chemical pesticides on it so we're going to start our own next year on the other side. Looking forward to non-pesticidey vegetables! Yeah! 3nodding

Home-grown tomatoes are definatley sooo much better then store ones! Another thing that tastes surprisingly different is blueberries! So much juicier and tasty, plus they grow everywhere really easily heart

we used to have one, but then stuff happened and we didn't have the time to take care of one... but we buy local when we can~ on the off chance that i ever move out to a house with a yard, i'm thinking of having a small garden, mostly for herbs. and peas. emotion_drool

I wish I had a veggie garden. Living in the middle of a city doesn't exactly suit veggie garden life to grow. I do have plants. Currently I have a madagascar jasmine which I've cut and grew an offspring from (currently 3 yrs old biggrin ). A desert rose, juniper bonsai, bamboo and aloe.

Why yes, yes I do. It mostly consists of peppers and eggplants. I love my eggplant parmesan and my mother has a thing for peppers.
