❧Personal Info

Alignment: Lawful good
Criminal Record: The only official 'crime' he has on record is being a member of the Knights Templar, for which he was imprisoned in 1307 and then burned at the stake in 1310.
Level of Education: Privately educated by various religious leaders, plus several centuries worth of experiences
If Collegial:
Current Occupation: Paranormal Hunter (not affiliated with the actual group, the Hunters)
Past Occupations: Knight Templar, Crusader
Family: His 'father figure,' a poor farmer who found him in the woods on the local Lord's property whilst poaching. Deceased.
Lovers, Friends, and Others: He's had various friends, lovers, and companions over the years... But most if not all of them have passed away.

❖Personal:
Personality: A bit stand-offish and almost haughty, while not particularly arrogant. He has a pretty obvious distaste for most Paranormals, but will only openly attack those that pose an obvious and immediate threat to him or other humans. He will not hesitate to help a human, however, and all humans he meets will be treated with the utmost kindness- as long as they are kind and respectful in return.

Music: If it's played on something akin to a lute, he's happy.

Role Model: Julius Caesar, Charlemagne, Alexander the Great, and Jacques de Molay
Catch Phrase/Motto: "Fear not the cold recesses of death- it is release from the harsh reality of this hell we call living."

❧Skills,Abilities, and Powers
Skills:
Master swordsmanship, hunting prowess, marksmanship, in-depth knowledge of various forms and incarnations of Paranormals
Abilities:
Above average endurance and pain tolerance
Powers:
Due to a curse laid on him by a demon long ago, Damien is unable to die; upon the 'death' of his physical body, it will evaporate and reconstruct itself nearby. As a result of the curse, he will not age nor die of 'natural causes.'
Weaknesses:
He's just a human. Anything that'd kill a human will kill him, too... Just, not for very long.

He's a tad racist. Anything that's not human is almost definitely discriminated against, whether or not he's actually physically hostile. The farther from human the paranormal actually is, the worse his opinion of them.

Technology/Weapons/Pharpenilia:
Silver sword, for hunting undead and werewolves and the like.
Iron-plated gauntlets with silver knuckle-spikes, making hand-to-hand combat with various Fey and undead more dangerous. For them.
A bag of salt (yes, salt).
A jeweled crucifix made primarily of silver.
A crossbow, with two different types of bolts; Silver and Iron
Chainmail armor with various plate coverings (shoulder, chest + neck, greaves + gauntlets)

History
Born in the later 1200s, Damien was found by a poor farmer while the man was poaching on the local Lord's lands. His surname was meant more as a joke than anything, having been found on "noble" land. When he became old enough, the boy was sent off to become a knight; he achieved Knighthood earlier than most, and went on to join the Knights Templar and fight in the Crusades. During one particularly fatal battle in an attempted siege of the city of Acre, Damien was knocked unconscious and left for dead. When he awoke to the smoldering wasteland of battle, he discovered a young man feeding on the recently deceased. The young man was a freshly blooded vampire, who immediately attacked Damien upon realizing he was alive. Damien slew the creature with great difficulty, but not before the vampire- who had been a demon trafficker in a past life- made a pact with a powerful demon to bring vengeance down on his slayer in return for eternal servitude in the afterlife. It was too late to stop; the vampire died, and the demon came. Rather than kill him, as he was expecting, however, the demon laid a curse on him. He would know what pain he had caused, feel death's embrace countless times, but awaken from it each and every time. Damien was no longer able to die.

He returned from his Crusades a lost and confused soul, thrown only into more confusion as his order, the Knights Templar, suddenly became a suspect of various cultist accusations. He was arrested on his twenty-third birthday, and burned at the stake three years later. This was his first death. He awoke in the burial catacombs beneath the church he'd been burned in front of, and escaped into the night. Now to add outcast to the list of lost and confused, Damien had lost his purpose in life... But the creature he'd slain, the man who fed on the blood of others, haunted his dreams. He began a new life as a reclusive hunter in a small farming village, and used this opportunity to research the beasts. The legends of bloodsucking demons and men had long run rampant, the dead returning to drink the blood of the living, the creatures of the night. He studied all aspects of the legends thoroughly, but it was another eight years before he encountered his next vampire. A traveler came into town, and brazenly murdered a woman in the open before attempting to flee. He was able to stop it, however, and killed it via decapitation. Thus began his descent into the shadowy world of the Paranormals.

In this world, he was completely alone; the other humans were unaware of their existence, and any attempts to reveal them only ended with his image turning to that of lunacy. He did become quite efficient at hunting them, however. Especially after the discovery of silver weaponry being so effective. Earlier on, during more suspicious times, he amassed quite a fortune as a vampire hunter; however, he soon discovered that it was only vampires about half the time. His knowledge of the Paranormal world grew as the years went by, and his obsession with cleansing the world of this 'filth' was only pushed further when he had a 'vision' he believed to be from God himself in which there were no more Paranormals, and peace on earth was finally achieved.

And so it went, for quite some time; Damien would hunt down any Paranormals he could find, kill them, or die and try again. His inability to die, while useful in his pursuits of killing more powerful foes, slowly began taking its toll; he attempted suicide at one point, and when he awoke he went into a rage and tried another six times. After the seventh attempt failed miserably, he gave up and fell into a deep depression that only ended after a vampire, who's brother Damien had recently killed, came looking for revenge. Damien ruthlessly slaughtered the poor fledgling vampire, and it got him back into the routine of hunting the damnable things.

That is, until the war with the Demons. When the Mother of all Demons arose, Damien was forced to ally himself with various Paranormals in order to save the world from complete annihilation. He died several times during this event, never officially making it through the portal that would bring him and his allies to the final battle. They went on without him, as he held back the tides. The experience taught Damien that not all Paranormals are inherently evil; while they were still not to be trusted, they were not all, as he had previously believed, 'filth.' Vampires and the like were still parasitic creatures not worthy of the unholy life they leeched from those around them, and Damien still actively hunts most vampires; however, the various Fey entities such as elves and fairies are no longer immediate targets upon identification. He won't trust them, but he won't try to kill them just for being what they are. If you're a vampire, though... Watch out. He may not get you the first time around... Or the second. Or the third, or fourth, or fifth, or even the hundredth. But unlike you, Damien can 'try, try again' if at first he doesn't succeed in a life-or-death situation.
