Is what I consider the best in the series. It has the right amount of freedom without being ridiculously confusing. I've played so many times, legitimately, with cheats, and with bugs. The spell system and the story-line beat its sequels any day.
Discuss your opinion of Morrowind.

Well, I find myself regarding Oblivion nearly as well as I do Morrowind, as they both have their pros and cons, and Skyrim is a bit too "streamlined" for comparison to these two, whereas Arena and Daggerfall are too "pre-Morrowind RPG" to really count, regarding gameplay, in my opinion.
I did like the freedom in Morrowind, killing Vivec and using the "other" method of killing Dagoth Ur was always good fun for my Thief/Assassin characters. I loved levitation spells. I loved the instant teleport spells.
Oblivion, due to the increased game engine requirements had to step down a little and create different cells for cities and since the game was limited to Cyrodil, they had to create an "out of bounds" limit to the game world, both of which were taken into consideration when they scrapped the Levitation spells and Teleportation spells, sadly, but understandable. I didn't like how one had to be deep in the Mage's Guild to access spell crafting and enchanting, instead of being open to everyone. Dark Brotherhood was an interesting turn after being at war with them in the Morag Tong and in Tribunal. I liked the new mechanic that prevented one from always having to ready a spell before casting it, instead being able to cast the selected spell immediately. A few other things were notable.
I suppose Skyrim did one good thing: constant spells, like flames or shock, something previously unseen.
^I've played all of the above legitly, with no less than six characters each, I've played with cheats, with glitches, and I've played with "perfect training" for Oblivion and Morrowind for "perfect characters."
I'm a dedicated nerd.

Daggerfall I'm not near finishing, Arena I don't want to talk about, Skyrim is fantastic, but like a whole new game in the series. Morrowind is like a vacation home for me, and I'm not some friendless permavirgin either, as hard as that may be to believe. I just get extremely addicted to Morrowind, and life around me seems to not exist.

A number fo the aspects I loved about Oblivion were more on the mechanical side of things (leveling, etc). I do admit I wish I could go back in Skryim and see Cyrodil 200 yrs later.
I can't really say if I enjoyed Oblivion more then Skyrim... and I still need to beat Morrowind.

Oblivion was my first love, it was my first open world rpg that I had ever played, after Oblivion I tried Arena........not talking about that other than when I am in the starting prison I already want my mommy. I played Skyrim next, which to me feels like an rpg to those new to the genre, it fealt meh. A few months ago my friend bestowed upon me the orgasm known as Morrowind. And whilst I suck at it for the sole reason that at level one this bamf dark brotherhood member keeps killing me, I still managed to kill him once and I love this game.
