Moongazer moved quietly through the young night. It was her favorite time to be out and about. She would never quite understand the desire to travel during the heat of the day. She'd emerged into a moonlit night so like the one that had shaped her first dreaming, and so she chose to live under the soft light of moon and stars. The doe was still warming up from sleep, but hunger was starting to grow from idea to a dull ache. She knew just the place though where the grasses grew sweet and the berries in abundance and if she judged it right the moon would soon be bathing it in her light.

She approached the clearing with a mix of confidence breed by familiarity and caution; one could never be too careful, many dangers lurked in the night. Its a good thing she was so careful because she noticed that someone had reached the clearing before her.... long before her from the look of it. She peered curiously at the sleeping doe and sniffed at the surrounding air. Everything seemed alright, there was no scent of injury or illness. "A strange spot to sleep," Moongazer said quietly being one to prefer more secure hiding spots that a patch of tall grass. Still having confirmed the other was uninjured and being asleep, no threat for the moment, she proceeded to the nearest clump of ripe berries to break her fast.
