Louvenia had just completed her last assignment for the week and she was itching to do more. She could read ahead in all of her books again, but her eyes were bothering her from all the reading and writing she had been doing over the past couple of days. She needed something else to do.
If it hadn't been raining hard outside, she might have gone out for a brisk walk to get her blood pumping. She sighed and laid her head down on the table she was sitting at and glanced around the library, trying to see if there was someone she could help. She knew she needed more hobbies, but she rather hated everything she could think of picking up.
It didn't take long for her eyes to alight on a dark haired hufflepuff boy who seemed to be struggling to read from the massive History of Magic textbook. She sat up straight in her seat and grabbed her bag and made her way over to him. Without even waiting to see if he actually did need help or if he wanted her company, she took a seat across from him and shoved her hand at him. "Hello, I'm Louvenia. Let me help you, it looks like you're having trouble with finding something."

Damien sat at the table with his History of Magic textbook open in front of him and a piece of parchment next to it. He had a quill in hand and was slowly answering the questions. So far, he had barely made to the third question. He didn't remember the answer and he was having trouble finding it in the text. He was sure they had covered it during the class period earlier that morning! As if his aggravation with his homework wasn't enough, his jaw was slightly sore from a run in he had with one of the slytherin boys. He had managed to get the girl away but while he was busy, the boy had gotten a lucky shot. Thankfully it hadn't been hard enough to bruise. When a hand appeared in front of him, he was slightly taken aback. Who had come over here? Hardly anyone ever came up to him except the few he had made friends with. He tentatively shook her hand, "Damien." He looked between the ravenclaw girl and his homework. Should he accept her help? It didn't really seem like he would have much of a choice. "Alright," he shrugged, "I'm stuck at this one," he pointed the tip of his quill to the question he had been struggling with.

The boy's uneasiness didn't even register with Louvenia. She just thought his hand was shaking cause he was cold. "Nice to meet you Damien," She said shooting him a small smile before she reached around the book to grab his paper to have a look at the question he was having trouble with.
"Ah, the answer to that question is on page 246 not 245," She said with triumph and then turned the page and slowly ran through the passages with one finger until she came to the phrase she had been looking for.
"Here you go." She said pointing it out to him, and moved aside so he could read and then copy down the answer.
She couldn't help but notice his thick eyelashes and how soft his hair appeared to be. She glanced at it, noting how shiny it appeared with the lamps pronouncing the sheen of it even more. "You have some really nice hair, how do you get it so shiny?"

Damien pulled his hand back, still looking at her curiously. "Same to you," he replied, raising an eyebrow when she reached around to grab the piece of paper he was working on. She had offered her help but he had no idea what she was doing. Once she was done looking at the paper, she grabbed his book.
He had never met anyone like her, that just stepped in and took over like that. He was going to comment until he noticed that she was pointing to a phrase in the book. He heard the line that was above her finger. Well, look at that, she was right!
"Thanks," he replied and quickly wrote the answer down on his worksheet. He turned his attention back to the questions when he heard her ask about his hair. What did she wanna know that for?
"I wash it?"

Louvenia shot a smile at him, not noticing his raised eyebrow. She often didn't realize just how pushy she was. Then again if she had she probably would have done it anyway. Especially when she was was as bored as she was.
She tapped her fingers on her leg, trying to wait until he was done with copying down the answer. Hopefully he'd be asking her to help him with the rest of his questions. She glanced over his shoulder and mouthed the next two questions to herself under her breath.
WHen she saw he was done with copying down the answer she skimmed the book again and pointed out the next passage to him. "The next answer is in this passage." She told him.
She couldn't help but giggle at his reply to her question about his hair. "Well of course you do. What do you USE to wash it?"

Damien was busy reading the next question to himself and was unaware that Louvenia was waiting for him to say anything. He was busy scanning the page to find the answer he needed when he seen her pointing towards his book. Okay, at least this was getting the assignment done
"Thanks," he replied once again and jotted down the answer. He quickly read the next question to see if he could find the answer before her this time.
He heard her giggle and looked over at her again. He wondered briefly why she kept asking about his hair.
"Shampoo?"

Louvenia watched him read, and couldn't help but smile. He looked so intense when he was concentrating. She wondered if anyone had ever told him this before.
Louvenia flipped the page once he was done jotting down the answer and then scanned it closely before plunking her finger at the beginning of the next passage he'd need. She wondered if he was annoyed with her being ahead of him or if he was grateful that he was getting it done faster this way.
She was surprised by his vague answer, but then again he was a boy. "What type of shampoo? Is it a special type?" Then before she could stop herself she reached out and touched the ends of his hair. Man..it was super soft. Even after she pulled her hand away it was itching once more to touch those super soft tempting curls at the base of his neck.

He didn't notice until after she had already turned the page on him that she was still trying to help him out. He looked between the next passage she had her finger on and the next question on his worksheet. She seemed to be really good at the subject so he decided to let it go; it was better than struggling through it on his own anyway.
He read the next question to himself, figuring she had already read it and would have the book open to the page before he got to the end of the sentence. He got distracted once again when she asked about his shampoo. Why was she so curious about his hair? He didn't think it was anything special.
"I don't think so," he answered, uncertainly, "My mom gets it for me so I don't know." Next thing he knew he was feeling a hand at the end of his hair. It was unexpected, but nice? It tickled slightly when she pulled her hand away and the hair fell back to rest on the back of his neck.
"What was that for?" he asked curiously.

Louvenia was rather glad to see he was now nearly halfway done with his questions. She blew a stray hair out of her face and then flipped the page again. She glanced over the page for a second and plopped her finger down again so he could see where the passage was.
It was almost getting boring. Maybe she ought to quiz him over this after he finished. Otherwise he might not really remember them. That would definitely take up some more of her free time. She really needed to find something she enjoyed to do other than school work. It was just too hard to pick something out at random.
"So what do you do for fun?' She asked as she messed with the edge of her skirt.
"Well you should ask her what it is so you can tell me. I could use some new stuff for my hair. It gets so darn dry." She said with a frown and tugged on one of her braids.
At his question her face went a bright rosy red. "uh, no reason. I just wondered if it was as soft as it looked." She muttered and bit on her bottom lip.
"So when you're done with these questions what were you going to do?"

He was slowly starting to keep up with her pace as he wrote and she pointed out the area of the passage he needed to answer the questions. Before going on, he looked to see how many he had left now and realized that he was about half way through the assignment.
He looked over when she asked him another question before turning back to read the next question. "I like to listen to music," he replied with a soft shrug.
"I have the bottle with me here," he had to have something to keep it clean with after all. "I could show it to you so you know what it looks like." Her response to why she had touched his hair made him give her a small, crooked smile. He wasn't sure if he was actually supposed to hear it or not so he didn't reply.
"I don't know," he answered when she asked what he was going to do next, "I'll probably go outside for a bit and work on my tai chi."

Louvenia was rather proud that he was starting to keep up with her and seemed to be getting the hang of it. It would be nice if they could finish in ten minutes or so.
"What type of music?" She asked as she flipped the page and quickly glanced it over before plunking down a finger.
"My questions aren't distracting you are they?" She asked with a sudden frown and she tugged at her braid.
"Oh you do? Splendid." She said with a smile. "That would be great." She noticed his crooked smile and frowned slightly again. Had he heard her mutter? Great. Now he thought she was some silly girl. She sighed and laid her head on her arm for a moment.
"Tai Chi? I've read about that but never seen anyone do it before. Could I come watch? Unless of course that would make you too tense and uncomfortable."

Damien quickly wrote down the answer that she was pointing to and continued on. The next two questions he actually remembered the answers to from the lecture earlier that day. He looked at the sheet and noticed he only had two questions left.
"Mostly rock," he replied as he waited for her to turn the page in the book again. He shook his head, "No, not really."
He still had a small, crooked grin on his face and gave small chuckle, unaware of the thoughts going through Louvenia's head. "Alright, I'll show it to you later. Maybe I could even let you try a small bit of it," Though every time his mother seen him off, she had sent him with enough shampoo that it felt like it would last him until he returned home in the summer. He could probably give her a bottle and not even run out before the next break.
He shrugged when she asked if she could watch him; the only other person he had watch him before had been his instructor back home. "Sure, if you'd like. It'll mostly be me breathing and moving."

Louvenia couldn't help the surge of pride that went through her when he remembered the answers to the next two on the list. Well that just left two more to go. She flipped the page and glanced down the page until she found the last two paragraphs he'd need to finish the assignment.
"Well that went pretty fast." She commented and flipped a braid over her shoulder. "If you ever want help with anything just let me know." She said with a bright smile as she pushed her glasses up on her nose.
"Ah rock n' roll you mean? It's interesting music. Much better for parties than stupid waltz music." She replied with a roll of her eyes. "Oh well good."
She couldn't help but notice his crooked grin. It made him look rather adorable. She wished she could get a picture of it for some odd reason. Of course if she did she'd have to find a good hiding spot for it. She did not want her roommates finding it and then teasing her over it.
"Ooh really? That would be so nice of you!" Louvenia exclaimed with a bright grin on her face.
Louvenia was further excited when he said she could watch him. Perhaps after watching him for a little while she'd be able to pick it up from him. Tai Chi would be a good hobby to pick up, plus it would help her get more active. Yes, it would be perfect. "Oh I know. I've read all about it. I just haven't gotten around to trying it yet. Perhaps I will today."

Damien looked back and noticed that she had found the last two paragraphs he needed to finish the worksheet. He quickly read the questions and scanned the passages to find the answers that he needed. As soon as he finished writing down the last word, he laid his quill down and gave a small sigh of relief.
"Thanks, I would have been here for a while if you hadn't help out." Even though it hadn't been asked for, her help was now very much appreciated by him.
He gave her another small, crooked grin, unaware of her thoughts. "Yeah, I can understand waltz music for certain things, but not for a party."
He looked out the window and quickly gathered up his things, putting them all back into his bag. "Well, if you want to see, at least, we better get going. Or I could meet you out front after I drop my stuff in my room?"

Louvenia was rather thrilled when she saw that he was finished with the assignment. She couldn't help but feel proud that he had been able to finish in record time with a little help from herself. She reached out and patted him on the shoulder.
"Your welcome," She said beaming at him. "Anytime you need help feel free to ask. I wouldn't mind making this a daily or weekly thing." She said earnestly.
Louvenia was glad that someone else agreed with her about waltz music. It seemed like that was the only music her uncle ever allowed in the home. Well that or opera. It was starting to get on her nerves. She wanted to learn about other music and get to listen to it as well.
"I don't suppose you'd ever consider letting someone else listen to your music? Cause I'm dying to hear some rock n' Roll." She added.
Louvenia jumped up from her chair at his last words and grabbed her bag. "Oh yes, we should. I think I've spent plenty of time in the library for one day. I can meet you out front, I have things to put away myself." Louvenia said with a smile. "And if you want you can call me Lou."
