OOC NOTES: This is a civilian ORP for CHAOS Characters, Negaverse AND DMC. This is geared toward new recruits, namely first stagers and the newly corrupted or converted. If you're a second-stage + and want to participate, just let me know via AIM/PM or in the main thread with a quote.
Your character ICly found out about this from Eternal Leto or General Howlite who would have announced it as a general training opportunity. They would have been told to meet unpowered at the park in workout clothes at 5:30am.
No one showed up late, or they wouldn't be able to find the group, so any "late comers" OOCly can simply jump in to the current work out activity!
Keep in mind that unless your character knows someone's identity already, this RP won't reveal it to them. They'll just know that everyone here is Chaos-friendly.]
"Good morning, folks!" The cheerful voice was that of a tall, athletic blonde, hair tied into a bun at the base of her neck [god, that had been weird to do, she needed to get a hair cut]. She wore a tank top, fitted hoodie, shorts, and a pair of sneakers, and the dimpled grin on her face was at odds with the 5:30am wake up time and purple-pink sky that formed the backdrop to their park meet-up.
Kess bounced on her feet, briefly, stretching an arm across her body as she surveyed the mixed group before her. Mostly younger and half asleep. She'd never seen most of their faces before, or at least, not without a glamour, and only knew one thing about each of them.
"I'm here to get y'all in shape. You're learning some new skills, but they don't mean anything without a good foundation. Strength, endurance, flexibility. You'll learn your body's limits. Some of you have never worked out before, for some this is old news, but there's another reason we're meeting here." Her dark eyes flicked over them, smile growing. "We're all on the same team, here. Take a look around and make some new friends, because you'll be seeing a lot of them. I expect to see y'all three times a week."
The blonde made a point of working out and training in both her powered and her civilian form. Too many officers relied on their improved strength and speed and neglected actual skill.
"My name's Kess, and my sleepy buddy here is Quinn. You'll hate us both by the end of the day, and that's awesome. Form two lines and we'll warm up our muscles a little before stretching."

Five thirty AM was a very quiet time, even in a city like Destiny. The park was pleasantly still; a few birds here and there calling out as sunrise approached. Guen was yawning, dark circles forming under her bright blue eyes. A pair of hot pink running shorts with a Crystal Academy soccer team jersey were her concessions to the morning's planned exertions. She'd left her cleats at home, figuring she'd be fine with just a regular worn-out pair of sneakers. Her hair bobbed in its neat ponytail as she rotated her head slowly - she'd fallen asleep the night before working on a homework assignment, and was feeling a little sore. Normally, she wouldn't mind being up so early, but... She felt tense. Guen couldn't help but see this as some kind of evaluation, and the very idea of it left her shifting from foot to foot nervously. She was pretty certain she knew where she stood, and it was definitely not at the top of the class. No, Lieutenant Gypsum was nothing special; nothing to be proud of. And Guenievere Evans? Well, who cared about her? It didn't help her nerves any that she couldn't hide behind her alias for this little adventure. After all, if there was anything she had less faith in than her alter ego... It was herself. She checked her shoelaces for what must have been the tenth time, before taking a place in the forming lines. She could do this. After all, she played sports - surely that would give her an edge? And, well - this Kess person seemed nice. Guen glanced around for a familiar face. It was just a work out. No big deal. Right?

Oh my gawd this was so exciting! Esme wasn't a morning person, but it certainly didn't dissuade her from putting on her best smile and her black pink-trimmed sweatsuit. Her long pink hair was tied back into the best ponytail she could manage, which.. probably wouldn't make it past the first few bounces of the morning. She listened to the instructor. Who was that? Who was everyone else around here? Ah well. She'd figure it out at some point. Esme offered a friendly hello and a wave to anyone who dared make eye contact with her. Hate Kess or Quinn? How could anyone hate them for just wanting to get them into shape? That was just silly. Esme bounced herself into one of the lines and eagerly awaited instruction.

Under other circumstances, Arilee might have indulged in a hearty and very loud belly laugh at the idea of hating Quinn or Kess. At the moment though, a strong sense of loathing was already bubbling just under the surface. The tall blonde had not been sleeping well of late. And being chivvied out of bed just as she'd managed to fall into it definitely had her feeling a bit... well, hostile. Scrubbing her fists into her eyes in an attempt to wake herself up a bit, she tried to slip an alert expression over her face. And then, as the billionth yawn nearly dislocated her jaw, she gave up on cheerfully aware and settled into more of a surly half-conscious scowl.
As she shivered in the cool, morning air, Arilee was grateful that she'd decided on her sweat pants and a simple, plain white T as workout gear. Warm enough to keep her exhausted body from getting cold, but not so warm that she'd pass out once she started sweating. Then, noting that the pep talk was over, she simply moved into her place in line and began stretching. At least she was in shape, she consoled herself silently. She had a good idea of her limits and was eager enough to push them. She just wished that this particular session could have been postponed by a day or two.
For the most part, the earliness of the hour didn't bother Kekipi. What bothered him was the chill in the air. He didn't remember very much from the time before he sided with Chaos. But he for damn sure remembered that he hated cold. And as such, he'd made sure to wear sweat pants and a long sleeved shirt. He'd have also opted for gloves, a scarf and earmuffs, but he thought that would be a bit much. With his brilliantly pink hair pulled back into a low ponytail, his poor neck felt overly exposed. Still, he liked the idea of exercising and training as a group. Tangerine eyes flickered over the people gathered, pausing momentarily to admire a tattoo here, a piercing there. The sleepiness in the faces of so many had a peculiar charm and he allowed himself to smile at those surrounding him as he listened to the blonde girl at the front.

"End of the day? Didn't we talk about those delusions of grandeur you seem to have?" Lena wasn't at all intimidated by Kess for a lot of reasons, the first of them being that the blonde was her girlf...roommate. Lena was also not, with a capital N and capital OT for good measure, a morning person these days. Five-thirty am was not only considered an apocalyptic time of the morning but it was considered, for the brunette, to be the middle of the goddamn night.
Mostly she felt this was all superfluous and ridiculous; she was not a shabby fighter in the least! Linarite had been in this game longer than almost anyone alive or active in the city at this point and none of that time had been spent peacefully. Or so she'd been told. She didn't remember the past year and a half so that was up in the air. Still, she could fight, she could dodge, and she could kick a senshi's a** from one side of the city to another without all of this. She'd tried to make that argument to Howlite who, of course, hadn't listened one bit. Linarite could not beat Howlite in a fight so she had to become tougher...and make some new friends. The first was something she'd been ordered to do by her general, the second something suggested by her girlf...roommate.
Friends were supposedly good. Not that Quinn and Arilee remembered her but she remembered them which was probably going to be really goddamn awkward when everything came out. Lena derisively mentioned one day that it really didn't matter because she'd probably end up forgetting them all in a year anyway, if they didn't forget her first, not quite realizing the impact of that statement until Kess was staring at her and she was nearly crying. So suffice to say the argument had been dropped and though surly and saucy, Linarite was here willingly.
Sort of.

Five thirty in the morning wasn't an usual hour for Tag Swagger to be awake, or to be exercising. It was the time of his morning jog, although sometimes his morning jog turned out to be his morning cigarette. Occasionally, it was waking up Gently gently or not-so-gently for other even-less-gentle morning activities. But it was rare that it would be an hour he would be doing work for the Negaverse, not that he minded in the least. A morning work out with the group was less of a challenge for him, more of a social thing, and it wouldn't hurt to schmooze around with his comrades, subordinates and especially his superiors.
For work out clothes, Tag was dressed very well. Obviously. He wouldn't hesitate to remind you that his track pants were $300, that the fabric content of his tight Underarmor tank was made out of the ideal fabrics for exercise, and that his sports watch served as a pedometer and could even monitor his heartbeat.
He stretched out his arms wide, extending his fingers before curling them in, cracking several knuckles and joints as he stretched before moving onto his back. He looked around as he twisted his back, trying to spot some familiar faces - there were a few he recognized, but not many in their unpowered form. Of course, he was also looking around to see if anyone was noticing him, Tag Swagger of the evening news, being in their presence.
If celebrity spotting was a popular thing to do in a city, for local public figures fan-spotting was just as popular of a thing.

Makayla found herself yawning even if she was normally a morning person, but this early. Even she wasn't cut out for it anymore. She showed up however, ready for this workout. With her dark blue hoodie zipped up to her neck, she had the hood down just so her dark teal hair didn't bug her too much since it was actually fully up in a ponytail for once. Tugging on her spandex black dance pants from high school, she found herself surprised that she was able to wear them still.
Turning her eyes towards the front, she placed her hands into the pocket of hr hoodie as she listen to Kess speak. Her eyes quickly glance around, finding that she didn't know anyone here at the moment, but was hoping she could change that. She knew she was still pretty new, but she was willing to learn at this point.
But why so early? She wouldn't hate Quinn or Kess, as she really couldn't unless they hurt her. Dislike, or even be angry at them at the moment, yea that was how she was feeling.
With a shrug, she slips her hands out of her pockets only to place them behind her back as she waits to see what Kess and Quinn have in store for them all.

“It’s morning, that’s the only part of your first statement that I’m going to agree with.” Zac grumbled to Kess as he tied his hair back out of his face. He needed a haircut but god knew he’d taken a page out of Kess’s book as far as motivation to do so. Thankfully his hair didn’t seem to grow quite as quickly as hers did.
At least he preferred running to most other ‘go to the gym’ activities, it suited him to run when you came down to it. However, looking at Kess, he was all too sure that regardless of his occasional personal jog, he had nothing on the pure endurance that Kess had even out of her powered state.
He gave a small wave to Lena, and a nod to Tag, both of who knew him in and out of uniform. He wasn’t wearing anything even a fraction as fancy as Tag, actually most of them weren’t if you came down to it. But he thought the black sweat pants and the ratty t-shirt and hoodie he had worn would work just as well as his far too abused sneakers.
“God I haven’t even had any –tea- yet.” He sighed.

When word about the group training had gotten to Alexandre he'd not hesitated, save but a moment, before deciding he would indeed be joining in on this. It wasn't just because he wanted people to train with, although that was a good reason, but also because he felt he needed, as a general, to know those who were of the lowest rank and new to this war. That was the bigger reason for him making his decision to join in.
Standing amongst the others he was looking at everyone around him. A few faces he knew and stopping, gaze stopping on Tag for a moment before landing on Esme, before his eyes continued to travel over those assembled this cool morning.
He listened to Kess speak, he did vaguely remember her from the play - hadn't her hair been shorter then? Quinn was smiled to, as he sought to make eye contact with her, just to let her know that he was here.
It seemed, to him, that most people here were not morning people but that was alright. He hadn't been a morning person a year ago, when he'd first joined, but now he was getting up, though not this early, to go running every morning anyway. They'd get used to it, or no longer turn up. Either way it would help, whether to determine who was cut out for this stuff or to help strengthen those who were cut out for this.
Stretching as he got on tip toe, letting his body stiffen for a moment, his arms high above his head before he relaxed and worked on stretching his legs and arms. After working out his muscles, loosening them for what was to come, he let his hair down only so he could sweep it back up into a tighter ponytail. Sneakers, slender in cut rather than clunky, of a black color covered his feet while sweat pants hung just a bit on his waist. The shirt was tight fitted, and covered his neck, the fabric something not cotton - what the fabric was he didn't know. He was decked out in black and ready to run, he needed to warm up and running would warm him. As everyone shuffled to form two lines he joined them in, heading to the line to the left, he took a spot in the back knowing he'd be over showed and not seen by those at the head of this.

"It is completely unnatural for anyone to be happy at this hour." Falco snarled. He'd already stayed up too late last night and it wasn't doing his almost perpetually bad mood any favors. He'd rather have been in bed with a cat, or curled up around a hot cup of coffee waiting to wake up, but he'd decided to torture himself with extra exercise for reasons he suspected might have involved stupidity and a couple too many late night beers. Excersize was pretty old hat for him, but he was still growly and annoyed as he stretched his arms over his head, fingers laced. Unlike Tag he wasn't wearing anything close to the latest sports wear, just an old pair of charcoal sweats, oil and paint covered old sneakers and an Harley Davidson sweatshirt that had previously been considerably brighter orange and black once upon a time. Now it was sort of grey and an polite and subdued pumpkin with frayed cuffs an a missing drawstring to the hood. At least one of the comments under his breath sounded a lot like 'smack the cheerful out of people' but he didn't look inclined to repeat it, and didn't seem to be acting on it at least.

Sleepy buddy was right (and probably an understatement). Who the ******** wanted to do anything ever at 5:30 in the morning? Not Quinn. But Kess was hard to resist and she was fully aware of how badly some of her teammates needed a good work-out. Quinn had no time for wussbags.
Quinn groaned and stared at Kess, completely unable to comprehend how this woman had so much energy and cheer this early in the morning. And her hair was in a bun? Wat? Long-hair Kess made Quinn very confused. Especially at 5:30am on 3 hours of sleep.
She shifted herself so she stood at the front of the group that formed in front of them, her hair in messy waves falling out of her ponytail. Red eyes narrowed as she scanned over the faces, quite a few of them unfamiliar to her.
Her right hand balled into a fist at rubbed at her eyes and she quickly mumbled to them, "Morning guys. I'm Quinn, for anyone who doesn't know me yet. And I'd just like to say that five-thirty AM was not my idea, for the record." A huge, lop-sided grin quickly spread upon her face.

It may have been early, but for Kess... Well. She had yet to actually go to sleep. The blonde often finished her patrols and evenings out with an early morning work out, before crashing until late afternoon. There were quite a few faces she recognized, and some she didn't. That was good and fine.
"Stop whining." Her dimples didn't disappear, despite her blunt words. "Anyone that wants to get out of here and crawl into bed is welcome to bounce." Kess' hands found her slim hips as she stood there, surveying them to wait and see. After another minute, she bent to a duffle bag, pulling two medicine balls from within and tossing one to Quinn.
She headed up the line on the right, hefting the ball in her palms, before raising her voice. "So, here's the drill. Easy pace. The ball goes over your head to the person behind you, and when it gets to the lucky runner at the end, they take that ball and they sprint to the front of the line and keep it going."
When they began to move, it was along the pond, a circuitous route that would last approximately two miles. After they got going at a decent pace, the blonde lifted the weighted ball, laughing quietly to herself at the shorter girl's efforts to grab it.
[ Left Line Quinn Esme Makayla Kekipi Falco Alexandre
Right Line Kess Lena Arilee Guen Zac Tag
Just quote the person behind you when you pass them the ball! ]Fairymount Apologies, I knew I forgot one.

Indubitably ((Out of curiosity, which line is Kekipi in? XD)) Growl. Rage. Seethe. Haaatttte. This morning kept getting worse and worse. She grunted softly as Kess told people they could leave if they wanted. As if! She, personally, might be grumpy and exhausted as ******** , but damned if she was going to let anyone see her trotting home and thinking she wasn't tough enough. So, instead, she gritted her teeth and eyed those in line with her. She was behind Kess' friend, so at least she'd have a pleasant view. And at least she wasn't too close to the tall blonde guy oozing arrogance all over the place. She thought he seemed familiar somehow, but in her current sleep-deprived state, she couldn't place him.
With a soft sigh, she resigned herself to a morning of jogging. There were worse things to be doing this early in the morning, after all.
*******
Kekipi listened with interest and watched his line mates cheerfully. Jogging was easy! And if he had to sprint once in a while, well, that wasn't so tough either. He finished stretching out as the blonde girl finished speaking and gently shook out each leg before he began moving. This probably wouldn't be huge fun, but there'd likely be some entertainment to the exercise somewhere.

“Come on then Tag, let’s see if your running is half as good as your gear.” Teased Zac, then again Tag was one of those few people who had seen the disaster zone that Zac lived in. He was honestly waiting for someone to fail to catch the ball in a sleepy stumbling early morning stupor, which could be either interesting or painful, possibly it could be both, so long as it wasn’t him he was just fine with watching it happen to someone else. The good thing was he wasn’t antisocial enough to say that out loud.
He set out with the others with an easy gate, falling into a familiar rhythm. He was more used to sprinting but he’d do his best. Worst case he’d be crawling towards the nearest water fountain while wheezing like an asthmatic. At least this way he got to see familiar faces outside of work, some more so than others, even if they didn’t remember the whole of it.

Kess was sadistic and she was doing it on purpose, she just knew it! Grumbling beneath her voice inaudibly Lena focused herself on the jog, on not tripping over her own feet, hopping to snag the ball from her considerably-larger friend. It wasn't entirely elegant as she grunted with the weight, she'd nearly dropped it on the first grab, but after another few feet Lena had a good grip to heft it back over her head without tipping backwards. Arilee was considerably taller than Lena and her poor 5'3 so this wasn't going to be a challenge for the surfer in the slightest. Unless, of course, Arilee was too busy grumbling to notice that it was being offered. Lena's arms weren't exactly the strongest; all of her strength was in her leg muscles for her kicks. After all when you didn't weigh more than 120 pounds on a good day you didn't get too much muscle from heaving yourself around on your arms now and then. The view was good though. There was no denying that despite the early hour it was perhaps almost worth it to jog behind Lena when she was wearing incredibly tight sweatpants that more-than-probably came from Victoria's Secret. Prime workout gear? Not really. But they were damn comfortable and she hadn't had to change when getting out of bed. That was good enough for Lena!
