The Cat gets around! - While she 'lives' with a very near sighted very old woman who is just as likely to feed the shrubbery as the cat, she makes a point of making rounds about town. She’ll explore anywhere that she can fit, sometimes this has lead to some haunting meows coming out of the odd ventilation shaft, rain pipe or seeing a small white stubby tailed cat sitting on someone’s chimney looking more than a little pleased with herself. Other times, she just gets stuck and needs saved from somewhere that she’s gotten up to, but is having a far harder time getting safely down.
A Cat named Sue – Since she likes so much to travel she’s picked up another odd hobby. She likes collecting nicknames from people. Other people collect everything from stamps, thimbles or even buttons. She’ll adopt a person long enough to earn a name. Sometimes she’ll move on to get another name never to return, but sometimes she’ll show back up after a month or two just to help herself to the family larder.
Virtues:
Ok, let's start from the top"- patient – She’s pretty easy going, tease her tail, tease her bad jumping skills and she’ll just use it as an example on using what’s available to you without getting caught up on what you can’t do. She tries hard to maintain this level of patience with everyone, and considers it one of her ‘fine points’.
How does it influence her thoughts and feelings? Well – She’s patient, she’s pretty ok if you tease her about what she can’t do because there are a lot of things she CAN do. Other people will either appreciate her high levels of tolerance with their own flaws (teasing or otherwise), or they may find it all the more aggravating that they can’t seem to get under her little kitty skin.
For example! – If DMC Senshi ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ – tugs her tail and teases the fact she took three tries to jump up onto the table to get the slice of unguarded pizza she’d laugh at her own failure and chow down. Senshi ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ might find this aggravating that she’s not bothered and try mocking her further or pulling her tail for a reaction. Where as ‘DMC Ssenshi of Mt. Dew’ might laugh with her, and then share pizza of her own knowing that Absinthe would be just as forgiving of their own flaws.
"Science and Imagination go hand in hand!" –Logical – How she thinks: She likes to take a rational approach to everything, but is willing to allow for things outside the world of what we can immediately see or understand.
She believes in magic because she sees it every day, she’s a talking cat for heaven sake. But she believes firmly that all magic is rooted in science. Light bulbs might have once had you burned at the stake after all. Everything in the world can be defined with enough thought.
Actions: if someone is confused or frustrated by the fact that senshi exist, some can travel through mirrors, all have powers that seem to fly in the face of science, Negaverse can teleport from one point to another almost instantaneously. She’ll sit down and try and put it into perspective by using human history as a perspective citing things like the light bulb example previously stated to try and soothe them. After all, everything has an explanation even if we don’t understand it.
How it effects others – Some people will likely find it soothing to have things explained to them this way, it’s easier to swallow a spoonful of ‘that can’t be real’ if you put it into some kind of perspective. Others will likely see her rationalizations as absolutely ridiculous or as an excuse for what is happening. One could say she is using Science and logic as a sort of religion, and while many may find this a very rational worldview there will always be people who want all the facts, and want them ‘right now’.
"Pff, it's ok! Shake it off you’re doing fine!" - - Optimist- Like the "Maneki Neko", Absinthe will often 'wave off' bad fortune saying, "It'll be alright", she has great faith that things -will- be alright. Because things always work out in the end, don't they? Part of this is faith in those she surrounds herself with, and part is just blind optimism. But the state of mind is half the battle -right?
How does it affect her actions? – For better or for worse she’s sure things will, in the end turn out in her favor. She’ll dive into risky situations believing in the best outcome. This does not always mean that she’ll get the outcome she desired, but she does seem to understand that. Sometimes the ‘best’ is simply making it out alive. Sometimes it comes down to learning something you didn’t know before (Hey I didn’t realize that was flammable!), so she won’t let bad days get her down because no matter how bad it gets, things will change.
How does this affect others? – You’ll love or hate her optimism. Some may see her as ignorant because she’s so faithful to the idea that things will work out, that the glass is half full.
However, others may ultimately need someone with this kind of positive outlook. When you’re contending with a city full of senshi, that outnumber the native Negaverse population by quite a bit, someone needs to stay positive. Someone needs to help you looking to the bright side and hoping that things will in the end go your way; that the raid on the latest senshi meeting was –not- a fluke and that it can, and will happen again.

"Just a taste, you don’t mind right?" –
How she Thinks: Absinthe is very much into sharing, particularly if people share with HER.
They don’t have to say they’re willing to either, of course they are.
Who could say no to a face like hers? Your drink your food, your notebooks, your bed. She’s more than happy to make herself at home and finds it quite odd when people are bothered by it.
How she acts: If she wants it, she’s going for it, like a small time ‘cat burglar’ to be pun-ny about it, she will wander over and start helping herself. Most frequently she’ll do this with food and drinks, but if she needs to write something down she’ll confiscate pen and paper. If she wants to read that book, she’ll probably pick it up when you set it down if she even waits for that.
How people will probably react: I think most people, short of the most easy going of senshi will find this a very irritating. She’ll infringe not only on ‘personal property’ but gleefully will ignore your personal space as well to reach her current desire.
It should very much be noted that her idea of people sharing is strictly a one-way street. “What’s yours is hers and what’s hers is…exceptionally hers.” Much like her utter inability to sit still HER personal space can be regarded as sacred where your own is irrelevant. Your possessions, no matter how necessary or personal are ‘just things’, where hers are ‘her treasures, her food, her stuff and are not to be taken without asking. If confronted on this issue she’ll likely ignore you, attempt to change the topic, or if cornered, say it’s her prerogative ‘as a cat’.
"Nuuuu that’s BORING! – How she thinks: She dislikes periods of long inactivity; she needs to be doing something almost all the time. Talking, reading, moving, eating, just something to keep her active as though she were some kind of small perpetual motion machine. Not doing anything for too long makes her feel twitchy and a little anxious.
How she acts: Always on the move she can sometimes be hard to deal with, if she’s not actively doing something then she’ll start finding things to do, even little things. As a cat you may find her starting to ‘pick’ at your socks, or the crease of your pants. As a human you might find her hopping up beside you to braid your hair, or paint your nails (regardless of gender) depending on what’s available. Lord forbid that anyone fall asleep around her if she’s bored with a pen, at that point only rank (might) save you.
How others react: While this might be amusing so long as you weren’t being subjected to the worst of her outlets for activity (like drawing mustaches on some poor sleeper), there will likely be something she does that just drives you crazy. Maybe flicking a pen back and forth till it’s snatched away, or maybe unraveling the better part of your sock and you just can’t take it anymore. Sooner or later it’s going to become a source of frustration.
Subjectively, it may seem like a minor flaw to some, they may be used to people who can’t stop flicking a pen or tapping their foot, may not realize just how terrible a flaw this can be when it’s –really- a flaw not just a bad habit. If your companion in a battle can’t hold still when you need them to, can’t focus when you need their undivided attention the ramifications can be huge. It would be ill advised to find yourself in a situation where you need to stay quiet and hidden with Absinthe by your side.
"Are you kidding!? I've been doing stuff like this since I was a -kitten!" (CRASH-clatter-roll-rollroll-rollTHUD) - Overconfident: How she thinks: if anything, once she gets moving she's a little 'brash'. She's so sure (optimism) that things are going to work out that sometimes she'll keep pushing at a problem and ends up making it that much worse, (or harder to get away).
She’s found herself stuck in places that are perhaps a little ridiculous because she was so sure that if she just kept going it would ‘open right up’.
How she acts: Between her Optimism and her Brash attitude she’ll charge into some of the most ridiculous spots believing that ultimately things will work out. This doesn’t mean she’s suicidal, but it can seem that way when she’s charging after a squirrel and climbs out onto branches that are only just thick enough to hold her.
How others react: you’ll either see her as very brave, or more likely, just a bit thick. Anyone who’s seen her charge whole heartedly into a bad situation before might find themselves feeling rather like a babysitter to keep a semi rare asset safe, though keeping her out of trouble may be more trouble than its worth and a rescue mission with the hopes she’ll learn from the consequences could be more the flavor of the day depending on who she was dealing with.
