The Blood Barons' century of terror over The Devil's Eye was one that would never be forgotten, for both their crushingly tyrannous control of all life in the Desert and the awe-inspiring opulence of Andalusia, the city they crafted through magic and megalomania alone, and buried beneath the sands of the great dunes.
Within Andalusia, there is a place the tribes now call The Sky Basin. Once the personal pleasure dome of the Barons themselves, this subterranean structure takes the shape of a large 100 foot dome of rock enchanted to appear as a sky of perfect blue without wind, sand or rain. As gentle clouds roll over the dome's smooth surface, the walls themselves shift with a subtle breeze of enchantment, painting depictions of an oasis set atop the breathtaking view of the Red Rock Mesas.
The trappings of the room itself tell tales of equal leisure, wealth and serenity. Fountains of clean water trickle down the walls and from recessed seating areas adorned by pillows of silk and cashmere accompanied by tall hookahs fashioned of brass and jade. A long section of the room beneath the dome is pushed out into a counter of natural granite with seating for dozens, which leads back into the a larder and a chamber magically imbued with veins of elemental ice, allowing the preservation and storage of many perishables.
Further out, towards the back of the dome is a raised platform gilded with brass and illuminated by the natural light simulated by the dome. In the evening, etchings of crystal throughout the floor, dome and stage provide a surreal illumination beneath the twilight portrayed above. A beautiful woman wearing an exotic and elegant gown can often be seen performing here, gracefully playing a strange instrument and singing with a prodigal voice. Almost as frequently a ferocious looking Vestitor is often seen watching her wordless and in awe.
This is a place of quiet peace, where the tribes and travelers who are welcome in their lands come to share tales, drinks, dance and song. It is their ultimate spite against the Vampires who spilled so much blood in the pursuit of their greed - to share the wonders of their creations freely among the young and old to enjoy as they see fit.

[I'll get a real format later] With Linara out performing her priestly duties, Scarlet's anger began to grow; she needed someway to subdue it. She stormed her way into the bar, slamming the door behind her. Her bright, reptilian eyes scanned the bar as she slowly approached the booth; everyone was eyeing her. Looks, all she ever got was looks. The constant judgement for things she didn't do, it was almost enough to make her snap. Scarlet gritted her teeth together as a waitress came by her table. "w-what'll it be," the waitress nervously asked. Everyone knew of Scarlet's reputation. Even though she only committed half of those killings, every murder since then seemed to be pinned on her. She understood the waitress's nervousness, but that didn't mean she was happy about it. Scarlet took a deep breath before ordering. "Something alcoholic...and strong," she bluntly replied. Alcohol turned most people into raging brawlers or slap happy "comics", but it always gave Scarlet an easy, relaxed feeling.

Fendon kept quiet as he made his way inside. He pulled his hood tighter, hoping beyond hope it hadn't spread too far that he had been the reason they had lost their lord. His attack on her had caused her spell to turn on her and ended with two other people losing their lives instead of her. The desert people's lord being one of those lives. He watched as the patrons were more focused on a girl at one of the other tables.
"I am only what you have made me..."

The new arrival's scent hit Scarlet like a ton of bricks. The other patrons might not have known what he was, but she sure as hell did. Scarlet waved to Fendon to get his attention and signalling to take a seat at her table, completely ignoring the waitress as she brought Scarlet her drink. "Well, well, well..." she said, taking a sip from her drink. Things were about to get interesting.

Figuring he had nothing better to do, Fendon walked over to the girl's table and sat down. "Something you want?" he asked gruffly, already on the defensive.
"I am only what you have made me..."

Scarlet threw back her mug and quickly downed it's contents, letting out a long breath as she set it down. "No, not really. Just thought I could get a decent chat out of my own kind," she said, pursing her lips and giving the bar another look around.

Looking back around the room, he pulled a waitress over and snarled to her his order. Looking back to the girl across from him, he growled, "Plenty shifters around. Why you feel like singling me out?"

Really? Why would he ask that? She just explained her reasoning; it didn't seem like something that'd need repeating. "I dunno, you smelled like I could get a decent chat out of you," she said, taking in another deep breath through her nose. "Ooh, what is that, Jackal? No, smells similar, but not a desert native," she continued, brooding over the many possibilities as to what the boy was.

Another own-the-world know-it-all woman. Fendon growled. "I'm wolf. Like my father. And where I'm from isn't important." He snatched his drink from the waitress before she could put it down and snarled her away. Blessed water flowed into his throat as he drank greedily from the mug. Giving another look around, he took note of how many people looked. "Why are they all so... scrawny? I thought all the desert people were well-built warriors."
"I am only what you have made me..."

Scarlet finished up her drink before responding. It was true what he said; the desert once held some of the mightiest warriors, all tempered by the harsh desert life. "There's a food shortage. Not everyone is getting all the food they need," she sneered. As much as she wanted to sympathize with them, she couldn't deny that the nation as a whole wasn't doing all it could to solve the issue. "You know, I grew up on tales of this nation once being a lush oasis. Now look at it. And they do nothing."

"Not like it's any better where I came from. You either get murdered for living or you murder to get food because they won't give any to you." A plate with a rather small portion of meat arrived for Fendon. He gave it a sniff before starting to tear into it. He ate ravenously, as though it was his first meal in days.

"Seems like famine is a pretty common thing," she said, gazing off into the distance. Her mind began to wander around in thoughts of the recent global pandemic. Was that why there wasn't much food? All she could really do was contemplate at this moment though; news didn't exactly reach her. Scarlet's train of thought was violently derailed as she heard Fendon ripping into his meal; it almost turned her stomach at his lack of grace. Scarlet may not have been the most sophisticated person, but at least she had manners. "Just cause we're part animal doesn't mean we need to eat like them," she mumbled.

It's quite pretty, don't you think?" The door to the Sky Basin began to open again as a white gloved hand with small claws wrapped itself around the door, and the only the ones who had abnormal senses could hear the quiet sound of a Kiranu sniffing the air before they saw a head pop into view; with her ears half up, her smell, and two blue eyes looking across the entire room, Linara saw the woman who she had been looking for: her lover, Scarlet. With a happy smile now on her face, she opened the door entirely and walked in as her tail slowly swayed from side to side; dressed in her usual garment, she made a line straight for the table but stopped as her ears perked up and her head jerked towards the bar with a small sound of surprise at the hearing of a friendly, warm voice. Cynkryt, the bartender, called out for her and she waved before watching him beckon her over; the second her finger touched the chair at the bar she hopped onto it gracefully. Scooting up slightly to the bar, she looked at Cyn with a smile as she spoke, a tone that was friendly and inviting to all who heard it as she was known as a healer who liked everything around her unless it was a very rude person:"Hey, Cyn...what's going on and how are you?
His hand reached out to touch her hair, and as she felt it she pressed her head against his hand before retracting it back; she hated it when most people tried that with her unless it was a known guardian or Scarlet, and she enjoyed Cynkryt's company when Scarlet was out. The long haired wilder motioned over towards the table with Scarlet and just then Linara noticed another person, noticing that he was a werebeast by smell. Her ears flattened a little and the smile faded a little as she watched the strange werebeast eat and Cynkryt spoke to her, "Think you could keep an extra eye on her? I've seen that guy around a little recently and obviously he's lacking in manners. Here's three cheap drinks on the house to try to keep them civil and give your mind a break from your studies."
Facing the wilder again, a serious look in her eyes remained but a smile spread onto her face again as she nodded, "Cyn, I've never let you down and I won't today, I promise! Thank you so much!" Sliding off the chair, she took the three drinks in her hands and was already thanking Pital for her grace in ability as she seemed to float over to Scarlet's table. Setting the drinks on the table, she pulled up a chair and hugged Scarlet tightly from behind, kissing her on the forehead. As she sat down with a grin on her face, her tail swayed to brush the lower part of Scarlet's back and outer thigh as she greeted them, "Hey, dear. New friend of yours? Hi, I'm Linara." A white gloved hand extended towards Fendon in greeting, the Kiranu smiling at him before also mentioning, "Cynkryt says hello as well, and wishes us to enjoy these." ♦••••♦••••♦••••♦••••♦ •••• Dodges: (0/4) •••• Distance: (Up to 50) Nation: Devil's Eye DesertXXXXFaction: N/AXXXXDeity: PitalXX•••••••••••••••• •••• Skills Used:

Fendon huffed at Scarlet, having already finished his meal. "Food shortage means you can still eat. And there's no famine. Just greedy people." He finished off the water he had left. "I'll eat how I damn well" Fendon was cut off by a new arrival. A cat girl from all appearances. She was too friendly for his tastes. But she had another drink. Taking that from her, he ignored her hand and set to draining the mug. "Besides, why don't you just raid Ernya? They're sitting with more than enough food to go around..."

Scarlet gave an awkward smile as Linara kissed her forehead. "Hey, I was wondering when you'd show up," she said, scooting her drink closer to her. Her smile quickly grew to a toothy snarl as Fendon snatched up one of the drinks. "You'd know a lot about greedy people, wouldn't you," she mumbled, bringing her cup up to her mouth. Scarlet took a quick drink then replied, "Fighting Ernya would be stupid. If they're all well fed, they'll be stronger than us."
