Guardians & Chosen

Theron & Stormstruck || Theron is a hunter who haunts the edges of the Wardwood. He goes further than other hunters consider sane, staying among the trees for weeks at a time. Nobody can really be said to know the Wardwood well, but he knows it better than most. He can be moody, quiet, and somewhat difficult to talk to, but he is very simple and honest, even if his moral code is a little different. He's unlikely to go to Palisade, but can be found in the Wardwood and around Oldcastle. His Guardian is his hunting companion; she seems perfectly at home in the Wardwood, and seems to have a sense of where the best prey and medicinal plants are to be found.

He is most likely to meet someone while hunting in the Wardwood. He also has a tendency to wander the outskirts of the forest, keeping an eye out for new Chosen, who he helps guide back to civilization.

Stormstruck is curious and more approachable than her Chosen, but can be quite moody. In the Dreaming, more of her personality comes through. She is quick and clever, often impertinent and sarcastic, nimble, strong, and extremely independent. Casual insults rile her up easily, and she won't hesitate to snap back, or even to lash out if someone just won't take a hint.



Shen Juhua & Seathi || Juhua is a foreign-born woman from the Sunderland equivalent of China, owner of Golden Flower Imports, an exotic tea and giftware store. She is a quiet, demure, and elegant woman, but she is also a smart, canny businesswoman. She is well aware of the limits imposed upon her by her gender and birth, but she has learned to work within (and around) those limits with all the tools available to her.

She is most likely to meet people who come into her shop as clients, or who attend the same parties (generally middle-class dinners and social gatherings) as her.

Seathi is a bit of a clown. He's clumsy, but sweet and energetic, eager to please and happy to entertain others. Despite his tendency to stumble, fall, and prance around, he is actually very careful, and has managed to avoid breaking any of the delicate wares in his Chosen's shop. In the Dreaming, he is every bit as earnest and enthusiastic as he is in the waking world, though he can be very shy and awkward around attractive Guardians (all of them).



Levateinn & Calder || Levateinn is a tutor for upper-class Palisade children. He is extremely calm and patient -- not a single client can ever recall him raising his voice -- but he has an iron will and a firm, if gentle, guiding hand. He strongly values self-control and self-discipline, and modulates his own actions and emotions to a degree that seems downright inhuman.

He tutors the children of the rich, gives free weekly lectures on a variety of topics in front of his Palisade home, and sometimes gives free private lessons to promising students. He also enjoys tea, and buys a great deal of books on various subjects.

His Guardian, Calder, is a wildcard. He is aggressive, volatile, and prone to lashing out against those who wrong him. To him, violence and force are the best ways to solve problems, and might makes right. It remains to be seen whether his fearsome temper can be directed into more beneficial channels, and whether he will mellow with age.



Aella Enelysios (& Kephas) || (Journal in progress) Aella is a mercenary who wanders the whole of Sunderland. She can be hired for almost any job, save the ones she finds too distasteful for any price, and she's polite, hard-working, and quite strong. Her skills lie mainly in combat, as she's skilled with sword, knife, hatchet, bow, and unarmed combat, and she most often takes jobs teaching others how to fight, guarding people's valuables, or escorting travelers who fear attack from robbers. Whenever she stops in a sufficiently large village or city, she also gives free lessons to commoners who wish to learn how to defend themselves from murderers, burgulars, and rapists. She is accompanied by a fierce, gray Rook, named Boreas.

She will have her Choosing during the winter meta, if possible, braving the storms and the threat of Wolves to find her totem.

Currently Seeking:

I'm looking to awaken all three of my Guardians (priority-wise, I'm going Stormstruck, Calder, and Seathi), so hit me up for some arpee <3

Winter meta plots, please!

Theron & Stormstruck || Theron will not be making extended trips into the Wardwood right now. He will, however, join patrols, and his knowledge of the Wardwood is likely to be quite valuable. He's also skilled with short sword, knife, and bow, as well as trap-laying; he's a skilled hunter, and has fended off his share of highway robbers. He can and will teach these skills to others, although he's not the most verbal or gentle of teachers.

Juhua & Seathi || They are unlikely to visit the Wardwood, but Juhua's shop is now holding afternoon tea-tastings -- social events where everyone, from the rich to the common, can come in, drink tea, and gossip. She's likely to want to discuss Wolves, and the legends, since she's foreign-born and fairly new to Sunderland; she's also looking for a baker or chef who might be willing to cater for these tastings.

Levateinn & Calder || With the resurgence of Wolves, many of Lev's clients now want to hear his knowledge of legends of Wolves and Guardians, as well as the Old Ways, and he's always willing to discuss these things in his library or over dinner. He also, curiously enough, knows how to fight with sword and spear, and is available to teach these skills.

When Levateinn and Calder get approved, maybe they could meet Paoma and Little Brother? biggrin Paoma will head into town once every three or four weeks to sell some flowers, so she could easily have wandered past one of his lectures and decided to sit down.

Also, Lil Bro might get a kick out of trying to antagonize Calder...

Juhua's in Palisade! c: Golden Flower Imports is in...one of the nicer, safer, cleaner parts of the city, but it's not exclusive to the rich, so anyone can come in! She'd love to talk to Nimue, I'm sure.


Sure! Juhua's always making new blends to try and entice buyers, and she offers plenty of samples, especially at those tea tastings. And Seathi would love to meet another Guardian xD
