Well, technically i'm obese. Truthfully I hate how I look. Sadly I look pregnant in a dress. (i'm not pregnant)

Anyway, i've been attempting to lose weight for a year...on and mostly off. Sometimes I quit because I'm too sore. This time I quit because my husband accused me of over working myself. I ran about 2 miles, walked about 3 miles. Did 100 jumping jacks a day. did around 10 push ups, 30 squats, and 10 sit ups (my gut gets in the way so I can't do many sit ups). Anyway, I was burning thousands of calories a day. Of course I don't eat breakfast cause I sleep until noon and lunch is not easy to get here. We are pretty poor...

As for equipment, I have none. No bike, no weights, no gym, nothing.

I am between 5'2 and 5'3. I weight 180 lbs.

I have no job and hate the outdoors.
Maybe this time I can lose weight. But I have my doubts.
I love ice cream and its always in the house.
Its to hot here to not have something cold.

Yay! I'm glad you made one of these. I'm just gonna give you some advice. All things in moderation. I understand how you can be excited/want to lose weight to be healthier and feel better about yourself, but overworking yourself isn't good either. It's kinda good to build up your tolerance to things. I mean if you wanna see how far you can run/how many sit ups you can do in the beginning that's fine, to see where you came from once you get more in shape. If you do feel like you're too sore/bad sore then take a rest day, or just do some light stretching/walking.

What one of my wellness professors told me in college that people can lose weight just by eating healthier/changing eating habits..without a whole lot of exercise. That's not to say that exercising isn't important, but if you don't wanna take on too much at once, then it's an option. I'm going to tell you right now for me, drinking water pretty much has helped me out a ton. I'm like 90% less 'hungry'. I was just thirsty, but would snack instead. I also can't eat super huge portions anymore, cause my stomach is like HALP.

Eating when you wake up is important too, it kind of kick starts your metabolism for the day and you're able to burn more calories.

If finances are tough, but you want to eat healthier...sit down (with husband possibly) and see what healthier foods you can get for cheaper, and cut out some of the things that you may like a lot, but might be causing you to remain overweight. See what coupons you can find, or what stores have on sale. And include said husband in exercise activities too! Cause I find it's better to have someone to work with/share the pain with. =D

Overall, remember that this isn't just a change you want for a short time...you wanna feel good/be healthy for life. So don't worry about taking it super fast. You'll hopefully be around for another...80 years at least =D

Thus far I am not doing so good. I have not made an attempt to exercise. My past depression issues are returning. I will keep updating this but I may not reply back each day.

My diet is unable to change because of the living situation I am in. My husband is training in the army and so is not able to help much.

All thing considers my simple tip would be. Find something you enjoy doing, which burns the cals at the same time. Exercise which is not enjoyable is hard to keep at.

If you enjoy going for walks...then do so (like if you have a dog to walk its a good combo).

If you enjoy swimming and have somewhere you can swim, again its great exercise. If you wanted to bike you could probally get one pretty cheap if you looked around, maybe even free if you check...you might be able to get a "freecycled" one in your area, Try...(You might find other free workout equipment on these sites as well)

its weird to think 180 for 5'3" is obese. i hate that its consider that because it gets me down sometime. i'm 5'3" and weigh 170lbs at the moment. and i don't even look obese. and i bet you don't either. we just look like average girls.

its hard to get on track with working out and being healthier overall. but you just have to get up and do it. just because you decide not to one day, don't let that discourage and stop you from keeping it up. if you fall just get right back up and start again. :3 i know you can do it. and everyone in the guild can be here to support you. so if you need an tips or motivation just post and we can help you through.

Ok, after multiple failures to exercise in the morning I have decided to try at night. Most of the time it is bad to do this. But I stay up until 1 am now. It used to be 3 am. And so exercising shouldn't be to harmful for me. Most exercise tips and workouts won't work for me. I'm just to lazy. I know, you can't be lazy while trying to lose weight but I am. I haven't weighed myself since the first time. It might give me false hope. Water is hard for me to drink because I hate going to the bathroom five million times a day. I just need to get up. That's it..I need to stop sitting all day. The wave of depression I had is gone. But my hopefulness still isn't that strong.

You can be lazy yet motivated at the same time. As strange as that sounds. Yeah, the water thing is a pain in the a**, but seriously, once you your body gets used to it you go less. Weighing yourself weekly is the best bet cause you don't magically lose fat overnight. Getting in shape is about setting realistic goals and following through with them. Finding something/someone to motivate you is good too.

The good news is I haven't gained weight...

The bad news is I believe i'm coming down with an illness...

Oh, and the evening workouts aren't happening either.

:/

So, can I party for not gaining weight after i've eaten tons of sweets?

...too late. I'm already partying. biggrin

So, a lot of crap has happened since I last posted. But i'll say what I was gonna say in the end first. I give up! I can't do it anymore. I can't live. I don't know what to do. I just moved for the 3rd time since february. The first time I was kicked out of my husbands dads' house. The 2nd time my dad dumped his girlfriend. And the 3rd time we couldn't afford the house we had. I'd lie if I said i'm happy as can be. I'm not. I want to go back to my old ways from 8th grade ( I won't explain it in a forum; maybe in a PM) but everytime I think about it I remember my husband. My depression has come back worse than ever. Everywhere i've lived so far has had fighting. I'm tired of listening to people constantly bicker of dumb stuff. When does it ever get better? I don't exercise. I don't have a scale. I am not eating much or very healthy. I failed. That's all there is to it. I'm a failure.

Life has its ways of going not where you want it to. If you look through certain posts you can see people in this guild have been through many troubles as well. (Arts forum poetry may show it as well).

Its good to use those who you do love to get you through the tough times, self damage dosent only hurt you but those you love as well. Im glad you know that.

I know it means little, but small goals, set them head for them, and you will find small victorys. It also takes two people to fight, so although Im not saying you start them, if you continue them, then you are part of them. If you avoid the fights or dont play into them they are easier to prevent. Some people look for fights and if they know you will, they will target you.
