Update! A [semi-official] list of characters we care about and what condition they're in is posted here. You're welcome to toss up your opinions and corrections you think need added. Others can debate or support you. Any change with three supporters gets added in. (Note: the OP counts as a supporter.)
Update! The last episode of the anime has been aired in Japan and is available on the internet in Japanese with and without English subtitles. Those whom exclusively watch the anime, it's recommended that you switch to the manga upon watching the final episode as official announcements state the anime will not continue until the manga's storyline has developed further, and may, in fact, never recontinue.

Lol oh holy s**t yes! sworday also randomly, all three of us are dapper. You can't go wrong with dapper. That's...creepy...in an awesome and terrifying way. We are the dapper trio! So, letsee, Kenny got knocked out, at least, Byakuya's likely dead, based on the very ominous and final way everyone's got their panties in a bunch. Renji and Rukia are out cold, Ichigo's trapped, Kisuke's dealing with some random weird psycho s**t over in Huecy. Shunsui is half-blind, and Shinji seems to be rarin' to go. What else is there?

So I'm more than certain beardy's a shinigami. The undertaker getup and age sorta nails it in for me. I mean, who in their right mind would believe a Quincy could live that long?

Shinigami are naturally resilient, as we've seen from the excess of severed limbs and holes being blown through bodies. (By the way, I'm so jaded that Ichigo doesn't have a scar from getting stabbed. Goddammit Orihime.) And a missing signature hasn't always meant death. But Tite's always struck me as someone who gives his characters a "last hurrah" before killing them off. Something that forces reishi into a visible, solid state as a weapon. A "reiryoku sword" might be a different case, though.

Especially since the chapter came out two days ago and nothing about the weapon has been explained. Kensei keeps his blade in the Shikai form of a knife in his pocket during his time in the Visored, and Hachigen used a Kidou to hide his when not using it. Otherwise, I assumed that they had their blades somehow hidden, or were seen mostly without to avoid having to draw blades constantly. While Juhabach could use the same kidou as Hachigen, I am pretty sure Hachigen's kidou was one he made up on his own, meaning Juha wouldn't know of it. Otherwise, I still stick to my idea of him being a quincy. Alannaa Forgive me, I'm not a genius when it comes to weaponry, but that doesn't look like a dadao to me. There is also the point of Uryu being able to make the solid construct bow, upon reaching a certain level of power. I think the King is FAR beyond that, which would allow the solid sword use.
If you read the Wiki article on Spirit Weapons used by Quincy, there are multiple forms allowed to the spirit weapon they form, other than a simple bow. These all appear to be of solid construct, not just a simple whirling hell-weapon. Note I say appear.
Anyways, could it be that Juhabach uses another Quincy technique, that has yet to be seen or explained, that lets him live so long? It could explain why the Quincy are SO powerful this time around. Maybe the medallions have something to do with it.

I still don't think that's a dadao(I know quite a bit about weaponry, man, and it doesn't really meet the standard for me). He just generally strikes me as a shinigami, which would add a greater layer of intrigue. But I'm pretty sure no normal quincy could manage that lifespan so well, so, indeed there could be a vastly unnatural condition allowing it. Or he could be some sort of "ancestor" for bount? They were immortal, maybe they were secretly fashioned after him? A new species would be interesting. I dunno, but I'm keen to keep the upgrades quincy have been given out of the RP until we understand them well. >_>
