In order to ensure that no one is over-committing themselves, I'll have you all make sure to commit to ONE committee. By focusing on the one you will be able to put more time and effort into it. Committee members will be the worker-bees that are to thank for all of the glorious hard work behind all of the projects. You will be employees, hosts, artists, role-players, shop-keepers, poets and more. Committee members will have their various skills and even personalities showcased throughout events and shops, and will be representing the Annual Ball. This position requires very little experience. It is ideal for someone who is new to the ball to learn what goes on behind the scenes and to begin gaining experience to put towards future years with the ball or with other projects. Don't forget, the Annual Ball is the type of large scale project that isn't overlooked as an extra-curricular activity, either. Some media programs in school look very favorably on being a part of large, coordinated online events such as this. Note: At this time, I would ask that artists decide if they are going to contribute art to the Art committee or if they would prefer working on another committee. The Art Committee will be providing art to the events, but it will be organized by the art committee. This means that if you want to make art for the Annual Ball Host Club, you do not need to be in the Host Club. You will still be asked to make art for the other committees, but it will be organized by the art committee. Advertising: Members of this committee will mostly be delegated to providing information in the various Annual Ball information threads and also will be scouting for popular guilds, threads, and events that the Annual Ball can help out with and affiliate with. The committee head will also delegate members to more creative tasks throughout the year. Fundraising: Members of this committee will be tasked with running shops or partaking in shops for raising gold for the Annual Ball. Proceeds made from bump shops, signature shops, sketch shops, etc. will be donated towards the ball. Members of this committee are free to team up with members of other committees on projects that involve more than once committee, but the committee head must always be informed of what is going on. Art: As said above, members of this committee will be the artists of the guild. Whether you deal with painting, drawing, sketching, writing, graphics, or poems, this is the committee for you. Members will be organized by the committee head and either assigned or asked to sign up to provide art for the various threads, shops, and events the ball will be hosting. Host Club: Because the Host Club is an RP focused committee, members will be expected to be online more often than other committees. You may be asked to simply be present and RP in a Host Club event, but you could also be asked to be an RP mentor, helping others to begin or improve with, their role-playing if they are new to Role-Play. The Annual Ball is a massive Role-Play event, so it will be important to be ready to demonstrate role playing experience! Please use this application to sign up. Username is applying to become a member of the [INSERT COMMITTEE NAME HERE].
Past Ball experience: If any, please list how you have been involved with the ball in the past. Average time online: Either weekly or daily. Remember that committing to a committee will require you to be online! Skills: What are you bringing to the committee? This could be your actual artistic abilities, organization skills, or just a spunky and peppy personality. One Idea that you have for the committee you are applying to. Anything applies here, so don't be shy no matter how simple or elaborate your idea is. Don't compare it to others, either! Be confident!

Captain Dory is applying to become a member of the [Host Club].
Past Ball experience: I don't have much past ball experience, I role played a little in one of the past balls, and the 11th ball was my most major experience. I also roleplayed in a few random roleplays. Average time online: Daily. Skills: Storytelling. One Idea Since I am a beginner, I think it would be wise that a beginner host, and an experienced host, host small events together so the beginner can learn for the experienced.

Rainsong Skywatcher is applying to become a member of the [Host Club].
Past Ball experience: I was a roleplayer in mainly the Nightmare Dream for this year's ball. Average time online: Nearly everyday, for a few hours at least, except Wednesdays and other random days (Sorry, it depends on my schedule, but usually only Wednesdays.) I'll be on a lot more once school is out. Skills: I just love roleplaying, and I'm decently literate and I can write a bit if I need to! biggrin I can always write at least a paragraph, unless I'm completely brain dead or have nothing to work with x3 One Idea Well, I think that we could have little practice hosting events in the forums in the guild, to train the newer hosts and roleplayers, to refine their styles and make it more enjoyable for everyone :3

Sort of.
Mostly, I have a question.
Firstly, I say this: If I have to choose, I would pick Host Club over Art Committee because, though I live and breathe graphics, it would be folly to say that all the characters I have created within roleplay don't outweigh the single persona of myself. That is, when it comes down to a vote, all my roleplaying characters outvote my artsy-graphicy self.
HOWEVER. Both graphics and roleplaying are as simple as, um, simplicity itself? So god knows I want to both be a part of the story and make pretties for everything.
So...can I be both, or do I not need to be a part of the Art Committee if I want to do graphics?

Sachie Whitby is applying to become a member of the Art or Host Club.
Past Ball experience: 10th Annual Ball -- Flying Room
Average time online: Daily.. However I get allergy shots around the 3rd weekend of the month. Around that time, my availability can be sporadic.
Skills: Pixel Artist... I'll get samples online soon [promise!]
One Idea If your host club roleplay is going to pass out long-stem roses to guests, I can make little pixel flowers for you to post in thread so that you can literally give them flowers to keep as a souvenir of the roleplay. If you want to run a maid cafe event, I can pixel up a little menu of human food for guests to order and for you to serve while roleplaying... and if someone tries to run off without paying, I'm always willing to eat them! Any sort of token, where it be a coin or even a pile of poo, that guests need to find, collect, or just have given to them for incidental flavor, I'm willing to make.
[I don't do pixel dolls though, sorry.]

GalateasFire is applying to become a member of the Art Committee.
Past Ball experience: I RPed as Brom in the Fantasy room in the 10th ball as well as doing the siggy art for everyone in that room, and helped and did art for the 9th Annual Ball. Average time online: I am on most days at least in the morning. Skills: What are you bringing to the committee? My artistic ability and sometimes shiny personality. One Idea that you have for the committee you are applying to. I think it would be great to make a complete list of all the art each room will need before the ball, with a list of artists that can create that art so that if there are room hosts that are nervous or do not know any artists can have a place to go and find one.

HDMI ⇝Sting All Enemies To DeathHDMI is applying to become a member of the [Host Club].
Past Ball experience:Well this year was my first time at the user run ball, haha so I'm new, I did win KING of the ball though which was amazing!
Average time online: I'm on Gaia quite a lot, so I don't think that will be an issue, at least right now it won't.
Skills: Well I did role play a lot when I first joined Gaia. This past committee I was allowed to rp again, and warm up my skills a bit, I won't say I'm an experienced role player but I'm not a newbie either.
One IdeaWell I am new to this, but perhaps some type of mini role play event(s) throughout the year to help people get just a little bit better with their role playing. Suzumebachi⇝

So...can I be both, or do I not need to be a part of the Art Committee if I want to do graphics? For now I would prefer to see members focus on one committee of their choice. Until we see how busy a committee is and what their tasks in that committee will entail, it's impossible to say whether it would be overburdening someone to be in more than one of them. Also, if someone were to be in both, you might end up having to choose which would be your priority over the others. However, once the committees are up and running I would of course be open to the discussion and possibility of members being a part of multiple committees. As I said, it would depend on their work loads. It's very difficult to know at the beginning of the ball how much work will be necessary to uphold a commitment to any project, especially for newer members, so it's best to take baby steps. If all goes well, though, you will definitely have a chance to be a part of both. That's not to say that I absolutely forbid you from making graphics, but for the time being I would recommend focusing on just one thing until it becomes either a necessity or an option to do both smile

Pink in Style is applying to become a member of the Host Club.
Past Ball experience:... I have done so many monthlys this past year I can't even keep up with them anymore... BUT! I finished my role in the Whimsy Room and stalked the Pride room (such a newb). Average time online: Depends on the Homework Schedule but I try to be on at least every other day. Skills: I AM good at making drawings. And I might even get a Sony Vegas (not sure if it will help) soon. I do come up with some pretty good stuff sometimes. And I'm a pretty happy person who goes with the flow. One Idea Try to match the theme of the new items! It's a really good idea! Ex. being like a rainbow theme when Digital Rainbow came out! It makes for good prizes and costumes being enhanced with the new stuff!

Past Ball experience: Last year I was the secondary host of the Whimsical Room. Average time online: Almost everyday, but there is the occasional day that I get much to busy. Skills: Drawing, banner making, commitment, role playing, and positive attitude. : D One Idea is talking to the guild captains of a few role playing guilds so that they can tell their members about our wonderful role playing event. : D

I'm hoping that we can do something like this, yes. When the head of the Art committee is chosen then I am going to suggest something similar. I know Chibi wanted it, and so do I. It is both a way to show off the skills of members and to save the ball's funds for prizes for the guests.

Symbolon is applying to become a member of the HOST CLUB.
Past Ball experience: I seem to recall being utterly new and utterly confused the year there were gods, e.g. Poseidon, Zeus, and so forth. Needless to say, I wasn't exactly participating that year. This year, I found myself ridiculously happy in the Noir Spy Dream (not to mention hogging the paintbrushes ^^;). Otherwise, I've never been involved in the Annual User-Run Ball. Average time online: Daily. Typically, I only do artsy stuff on weekends (not that it matters as I'm applying for the host club but I mention it anyhow.) Skills: I have roleplayed on many different levels for an uncountable number of years- as in I don't remember when I started roleplaying, but it was after my thirteenth birthday. I do graphics like a maniac, and can do art if you want it done in a traditional medium over the course of a week. I've organized multiple roleplays, a charity, and done multiple thread layouts, some involving graphics, some not. I looked at all my report cards recently, and was consistently listed as anything from 'works well with others' to 'leads groups and discussions well'. So, I guess that means I can lead stuff. Speaking of, I'm Vice President of the Japanese Anime Manga and Mahjong Club at my high school, and was Treasurer last year, and am organizing a club trip to a con this year, as well as my own art table at multiple Artist's Alleys. Also, I will try ridiculously hard to entertain people, no matter what I'm doing. If I'm not a beaming ray of sunshine, I either forgot to take my happy meds (I've been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and am still in treatment) or I didn't get enough sleep. There will rarely be any other reason. One Idea that that I have for the committee I'm applying to is to make sure there are fully interactive events for the roleplayers joining up as I witnessed in the Noir Spy Dream, with events being more than plot points and involving participation in order to achieve each plot point.

KissMeHappy is applying to become a member of the Fundraising Committee. Past Ball experience: Participated in 8th AURB, member of Advertising Committee of 9AURB Average time online: Daily - During exam times it's weekly though Skills: I have organizational skills and great leadership skills. This is helpful, even if not placed in a leadership role, because I know how to motivate. I'm an innovator and a quick thinker. One Idea: An auction of information. The closer we get to the date, the higher the cost of "hints" at the theme of the ball and etc. I don't know how well this would work, or even if people would participate, but if we pulled it off correctly it could turn into a community-wide puzzle creating lots of buzz about the ball while also raising funds. Another idea is to sell Tek-Tek's to people that can be used for the ball. For example, the theme is kind of a secret so we could allow people to use our services to pre-order a TekTek that uses their invo that they'll get the day of the ball so that they don't have to worry about creating an avatar at the last minute. This could also work for post styles. We could create a shop selling AURB RP layouts.
