It's the end of summer, fall's coming, and for many that means back to school.. or other things! But I thought it might be nice to just have one topic for people to post what's up with them instead of everybody making their own. Is your activity going to dip? Well, that's generally expected from just about everyone in FEF to some extent, but go into the details of why; did you get a job? What is it? Are you taking classes? What are they? Going on a trip? Take me with you!

As for me personally, I am taking just one class this semester, the first part of my English requirement. I would have actually been done with my community college by now, if not for their infuriating derp, but at least they're letting me take the class now; previously, because their records were wrong (and I told them that) I was not being allowed to take this class even though it was one I needed. If I had been allowed when I tried to, I'd be done now. So I'm looking at three more semesters of one class each because of it. Yeah. My college is a trap. But, I can be thankful that it's all taken care of now at the least; going into details is a rant I'll give only if asked. (What is it about college horror stories that are so maddening yet somehow enjoyable to tell?) That said-and more to the point- even though it's only one class, this is an important one that will take up my time far more than any other class. I'll still be online every day the way I have been (and thus able to do ToB judging, gale), but I won't generally be able to fulfill my job of kicking people's asses to post when needed; we'll just see how that goes...

Hooray, one topic. :3

My time here is coming to an end, again. I'm taking my hard-a** classes this semester (Comm 301: Rhetorical Criticism, and Comm 306: Comm Stat), and each of them requires a 20+ page research paper by the end of the semester. I'm also working on turning in applications to a potential doctorate program in UCSB, and prepping my paperwork for the CSULB Master's program in case that doesn't go through. In any event, I've made it clear enough that my time back in FEF was temporary.

I've got only five classes, this semester: Comm 301, 306, Anthro 412I (Interdisciplinary course: Culture and Communications), R/ST 302I (Interdisciplinary course: American Religious Diversity), and Kinesiology 188 (Salsa). Still yet, though, those first two classes are gonna kick my butt if I don't divert all my time to them.

I'll be back during winter break, hopefully. biggrin

I'll be around more than I should be due to the fact that I was a dumb little b***h and forgot to register for classes for Fall. So its kinda late for me now, classes starting and all so there's no classes I need that aren't empty and of course, getting heat about it from my dad. *SIGH*

Whatevz, I'll probably take this time to make another trip back to Taiwan just to pay my respects to grandparents and spend some time with family. Nothing really major up my alley other then my job.

Oh the usual for me...... Trying to find a job as well as finding a place to stay. =____=

My coworkers are telling me rumors that people with seasonal job on peaches will get laid off on first week of September (guess what fruit I'm working on? Yay... ) so I need to find a job as quickly as possible or else get threatened (again) about being kicked out. Hopefully, I may be a permajob instead of seasonal and temp job... Hopefully.

Other than that, I may hang out and possibly help you try to get people posting too.

I'm actually in Isadora's situation at this point. Looking for a job. Out of college, and not planning on grad school for a year or two, so I'm available during this part of the year moreso than I ever have been.

And while I'm glad to be able to be active at FEF, I DO wish more was going on in my life at the moment :/

I'll be taking GED classes this fall, also be looking for a job, but I may be on more often. I have trouble keeping up with a lot of things due to my ADD. I have reminders and planners, but I forget to look at them, too! D8 It sucks.

It's gonna suck trying to juggle classes and a job if I do get one...dear lord, help me. xDD

I'm taking two classes and job hunting and hopefully getting one...
But also, I as usual have all the chores the house has to offer due to my mother being physically unable to do any of it herself. =(

I'm also in college, blah blah, just like everyone else! I've got 15 hours - Accounting Intermediate II, Tax, Commercial Law, Finance, and Information Assurance Systems (basically business computers). If things go well, I might consider checking how much additional classwork I'd need for a minor in MSIS as well as my major in Accounting. I've also got anime club activities, being VP, and am considering attending ISAC meetings (basically Information Assurance Systems-esque club meetings) and will have to check in on when Beta Alpha Psi (accounting 'club' that gets lots of recruiting) starts having meetings, because I hear the new members have a LOT of additional work to do over the veteran members...

Either way, even with these classes, all of them are Tuesday-Thursday, so I should still be around at least SOMEWHAT. Thankfully business classes don't usually have large amounts of projects. :p

Wow, seems college really is the main theme here...

I too am taking classes but I missed the first day last Monday due to me thinking it started next week >.<;

I went in today and I don't have any of them for sure but, I'm confident I'll get one or two. Right now I'm taking Japanese 1, Programming in C++, and Computer Network and Network + . Luckily I was able to cram all that in a 2 day schedule, Monday and Wednesday. I need the Network class to finish my Computer Technology certificate. C++ for my eventual dream of staring an independent video game company. And Japanese both because I simply want to learn it, AND also for my down the line, video game company.

I hope to get all of them, but if not, it means more time here so win-win I suppose hehe.

Ookami, you and me need to work together on possible video game development. 3nodding

I start school Monday, and this is hopefully the last semester I'll be in a community college before I can finally go back to a 'real college', as my parents so kindly put it. I've only got two classes this semester: Programming Fundamentals III (animation in C++ go!) and Intro to Philosophy (because goddamn, do I really need this class to get a degree?). Only one of them requires me to drive all the way to campus as the other one is an online course, so while I may be around more I still won't be around much. Why?

College. Applications.

Yep, my deadline to get all these goddamn apps is October 1st, so guess who's got a shitton of paperwork to do? Then there's job hunting because my work schedule is way too unpredictable (you'd think they'd finally have set days everyone can work by now...) and 6 dollars per hour plus delivery tips is nowhere near enough to take care of all the bills and college applications. I had my hopes up for a graphic design job but that got declined because the company felt that my skills would be better off in a position they didn't have open at the time (a.k.a "no we don't need you ever", but whatever. They have my application should an opening come up and I still happen to be around).

And with my parents deciding to cut the internet at a certain hour every night and not put the modem back until after they get back from work (around 3-5 pm my time), that really doesn't give me a lot of time to get those college and work apps out there.

On that note, I have no idea where I'll be once January swings around at this time.

I'm around like always. If you're looking for me for whatever reason, it's pretty easy to get in touch. Chances are that won't change.

Anyway. I'm taking the semester off since the last few haven't gone very well for stupid personal reasons. My GPA has suffered enough these past couple of years. Maybe I just need to de-stress before I make another attempt.

On the job front, still unemployed but searching. I'm attempting to make my resume better by volunteering for the county's board of developmental disabilities in their public information office. I'm pretty much an unpaid intern. The weird thing about it is I actually like it. So far I've been doing graphic design work like creating a new logo for their race to raise money for the Special Olympics. It's going to be all over the race's prizes. Woo!

Hiya FEF! Sue here to give you a little update!

So, yeah, I'm heading back to college classes on the 29th. That's a Wednesday. I'm still gonna look for work on the weekend too since I'm nearly broke. Ha ha, I don't have much "activity" to drop since I don't stop by as much as I used to, but I promise you all that I remember you, and I love you. heart

As for which classes I'm taking, since I'm at the last year and a half of my Elementary Education degree, they're all involving lesson plans and how to deliver them. We call this "Approaches" in the Education field. -nods- This time I'm doing Math, Science, and Language Arts/Reading. And then I have a whole separate class just dealing with Assessment/Testing.

For this part of my degree I'm going into an actual elementary school and delivering lessons. I've done this before, but this time it's going to be for a whole semester. There's going to be a tremendous amount of pressure on me, but I will do my best.

My classes themselves take up Tuesday - Wednesday this time, but I have no idea when my field work at the schools will be scheduled. We'll just see how that goes.

I'll be on when I can. I'll probably be on Gaia more than AIM, though. You know what you gotta do to reach me. PM! =D

I move into my college apartment this Saturday so my inactivity will probably continue. I'm not sure how this semester will go with me taking 18 credits all of which are at the 300/400 level except my Acting I class. Three marketing classes, business law, and retaking operations management with the same professor whose class I failed last semester. Joy.

I'll probably be in the blast every now and again to say that I'm still alive and not dead from taking all these business classes.

One topic. Right. Well I mentioned some of my stuff on my other side in my other topic but gonna post about other crazy stuff here!

For me I've been doing...horrible in college. For some reason it didn't click with me that homework was important so I failed my first quarter. This one I decided online classes would be good. That led me to a horrible path of the hermit. You all saw me online. I had moments where I was up late at night just doing homework so it would not be late. Yeah. But that is all over now.

This quarter I'll be taking English 98 again, but also taking Native American Literature as well as Improvisation and Comedy Sketch. These classes sound like fun plus a friend of mine that is awesome is in my Literature class!

More than likely you guys would be able to catch me whenever I am online cause I'd be at school or at the library. Those are gonna be my two primary places I will be at from here on out. Unless I am hanging out with my friend. In which that will be me doing a lot of Pokemon.

To say the least sadly my activity will probably drop. I love this guild to bits and pieces but school, looking for work, and not getting kicked out at home will have to come first for me. If I will be needed please do shoot me a PM! I will respond to that and get on whatever is needed if it is guild related. And even if it is not guild related you can still PM me to talk!

My activity . . . will probably be about the same. ^^;; I'm usually on AIM in the early afternoon, just invisible, and on again once I'm off work, about midnight or so. I'm currently working second shift (that's 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) full time at the hotel, and also getting some overtime. Guinny and I had our vacation the first full week in August, and the day after we left for that, one of my coworkers passed away (massive heart attack at the age of 52--absolutely not expected), so we've been short-staffed ever since. We're currently in the process of hiring someone for third shift/night audit, but until that happens, I'm one of the ones who's going to get over time. Thus I'll be even busier than usual.

I will still be around to help with judging ToB (what little help I'm am . . .) and to post, though again, posting will probably be less frequent due to overtime at work. XP

Other than that, I'm going to try and be as active as I can, but working 40 hours a week eats up a lot of time, and I'm usually exhausted when I come home. x_x Like FD, I'm graduated and not planning on going to grad school any time soon (if ever), so this'll be my life for a while. I've also been having a lot of problems with my wrist lately, and I have no idea what's wrong. Hopefully I'll be able to have it looked at soon, but I don't know when I'll have time to until we get somebody hired and trained--having only one day off a week doesn't give you time to do ANYTHING. XP At least I'm finally better and not sick, aside from WRISTDEATH, and I want to do some more writing. The biggest plus about work is that I usually have lots of downtime, which means lots of time for reading! Of course this also means I keep running out of books to read. . . . Ah, such is life.
