Click to show.Liam eyed the brown patches of grass on the Hogwart's grounds as he walked across it trying to find a quiet spot away from the noisy games the other kids were engaged in. It seemed as though the grass needed more moisture..or someone had been doing something odd to it to cause the strange circles. Maybe he'd try and camp out some night to figure out who was causing it. That would be a fun thing to do. He'd just have to be careful that no one caught him.

He had no idea if he'd even be allowed to camp out, but with the two weeks of sunny weather it would be smart to do it soon before it started raining. No one wanted to camp out in the rain. Unless they had a tent. Hmm..maybe he'd see if he could get his father to send him a tent by their family owl by the weekend. He'd have to write off a letter later that day.

The noise of the games had faded and he breathed in the slight salty smell from the lake. He had finally found a nice quiet spot away from the crowds. He did notice there were a few kids around it, but they were not bothering him in the least.

Liam found a shady spot under a tree and laid out in the grass and closed his eyes. He took some deep breathes savoring the slight summer breeze and the sound of birds twittering over him in the tree. He slipped off his hiking shoes and then using his toes pulled his socks off. With his toes now resting in the soft grass and the breeze running over them he relaxed with a smile on his lips. Now this was perfect.

Green eyes skimmed over the poor page in the book resting on her lap for the third ─ or was it fourth? ─ time, seeing words but not making sense out of them. The combination of weather and nature just wasn't letting her focus. Sighing, she closed the book and carefully stood, deciding on resuming later when she was inside and away from distractions.

Brushing the back of her skirt, she started back for the school, only to stop and blink at a boy that caught her eye. He looked to be dead from this distance. Is he dead? He seemed to be alone. Glancing around, Charlie quickly headed towards him, and gave a relieved sigh when she was close enough to see his chest slowly move. Okay, not dead. Sleeping? She politely stopped about a foot or so from the boy. "You're.. not dead, are you?" It was a silly question, but she wasn't sure how else to announce her uninvited arrival.

Liam had very nearly dozed off when a voice sounded somewhere in the direction of his feet. With a muffled groan he opened his eyes and glanced up at the person who interrupted his nap.

"No I am not dead. Why did you think I was?" He asked slightly irritated by being interrupted in the middle of his nape. He put a hand over his eyes to shield them from the bright sun behind the girl. It was so bright he could barely make out her face.

Finally his eyes were focused and he saw that she had shiny black hair and bright green eyes which were dwarfed by her huge glasses. And then he noticed her school tie and was amused to see that she was a Gryffindor. What had caused her to ask him if he were dead? Did she like macabre things or something? Or had she been concerned for him?

"I was taking a nap until you interrupted me, but now that's over." He said with a sigh and sat up. "Guess I'll have to find something else to do. What were you headed off to do?" He asked curiously.

Charlie blinked, relieved when he moved. She stepped back to give him more space when he sat up, slightly frowning. Oh, he was napping. Better safe than sorry, then, right?

"Sorry about the interruption. One can never be sure from sight alone," she lightly explained, pausing to add an apologetic smile before answering his question. "I was headed off to my room to either read or drop my book off, since I can't concentrate with the weather. Or pay a visit to my owl." She shrugged to show that she hadn't made up her mind, yet, and slightly shifted her hold on her book. "I'm Charlie."

Liam waved away her apology, "That's all right. No harm no foul." He replied with a shrug of his shoulders.

Liam knew what she was talking about. The weather was soo nice it would be hard to concentrate on reading or anything else. "I know how that is. I tend to have a hard time concentrating on school when the weather is this nice. Thankfully I'm done with with all my homework for the weekend, so I have time to do whatever I want. Might I tag along with you to the owlery? I should visit my owl Anda. I haven't paid her much attention lately." He admitted and stretched out and then quickly pulled on his socks and shoes, tying the laces in double knots.

"Liam." He replied with a smile.

"Of course you can, silly, I don't own the owlery." Charlie answered, smiling as she watched him get ready. The thought of company was nice.

Liam grinned up at her as he finished double tying his shoelace. Then he got his feet underneath him and sprang up to his feet without using his hands. It was something he had been practicing a lot lately, though usually with Desi on his back so his hands were otherwise occupied.

"Oh I know that, I just wasn't sure if you wanted company." he replied brushing some stray locks out of his eyes. His hair was starting to get long, He was going to have to get his sister to trim it for him again soon.

"I gather then you don't mind if I walk with you." he said in a more subdued tone, glancing around. "Perhaps we should stop off to get some treats for the owls?" He suggested.

He realized that Anda would probably be a bit snippy with him as he'd been neglecting her for so long and would be looking for some sort of treat. As it was his pockets were empty, though he did have a cannister of treats in his dorm room. "If you don't want to wait for me I can meet you over there. It won't take me more than a few moments to go in my dorm to grab some treats."

Charlie returned his grin with a smile then blinked at his sudden spring. She took an involuntary step back, nodding while playing with a strand of her hair. "Of course I don't mind. Company would be very nice, thank you."

She paused for a moment then shook her head. "I have to return my book back to my room, anyway, so we can meet at the owlry. It's not a problem and I wouldn't want to slow you down. Could you bring a treat for my owl as well?"

Liam grinned at her involuntary step back. His sudden spring must have alarmed her as she hadn't been expecting it. He rolled his shoulders as he listened to her reply.

"Good to hear." He said shortly. He normally didn't seek out others to spend time with, nor did he really talk that much. A lot of the kids in his house found it rather odd, Liam didn't really care what they thought. Though every now and then he'd find someone to shadow that didn't talk too much. He supposed he did this to not concern his housemates or his siblings. If he was on his own too much they tended to try and intervene. That just proved annoying to him. Why couldn't people understand that he just wasn't all that social?

Liam nodded at her explanation. "Sounds fine to me. I doubt you'd slow me down though as I don't really hurry when I walk." He replied with a thin smile. "Sure I have enough to share."

Then without another word, Liam made his way back towards the castle.

Charlie slightly smiled and nodded, watching him leave. She then quickly checked to make sure she wasn't forgetting anything before hurrying off for her room.

Liam made good time across the grounds, though he had a few near mishaps with kids playing games. Thankfully he was able to get out of the way of their balls and other toys with ease. Then there was his brother playing that infernal frisbee golf game which he really didn't understand. He nearly got pressured into playing the game until another gryffindor appeared and his brother forgot about him in favor of the blushing auburn haired girl.

Liam couldn't help but eye her for a moment before he moved along. He was sure he had seen the girl playing with his brother before, but he couldn't for the life of him recall her name. It wasn't until he was inside and close to the school kitchen when the name came to him.

"Ah it's Aglaia. I don't see how I didn't remember that. It's not a very common name after all." He mused as he approached the nook on the right hand side of the kitchen corridor where the door to the Hufflepuff house was concealed behind several large barrels.

He reached out to tap the barrel two from the bottom, middle of the second row, in the rhythm of ‘Helga Hufflepuff’. This made the lid swing open; exposing a passageway that lead to the basement where the Hufflepuff Common room was located. He still thought it was rather amusing that the Hufflepuff common room was almost like a secret hideout. He crawled through the opening and made his way to his dorm room.

One thing he liked about the common room was the vegetation and the sunlight that streamed in through the windows when it was bright out. It was almost like living outdoors at times. He frowned at the messy state of the room but didn't think it was his place to clean up after his roommates. After all his area was clean and orderly. He made a point to keep it as clean as he could.

He opened his trunk and rummaged through it until he found some owl treats and stuffed several of them in the pockets of his hooded sweatshirt and then grabbed some muggle candy his mother had sent with her last letter. he figured he could share some with Charlie, he imagined she might like the taste of these jelly beans. He popped an orange one his his mouth as he looked perused his desk for a moment before grabbing the parchment letter he had written the night before.

"I wonder if Liam and Maer have written mother and father lately." he wondered as he looked over the letter before stashing it in his pants pocket and leaving.

His trip back through the common room had him stopping once to say hello to several first years and help them find something they had lost. Then he was out of the room and making his way down the school corridors and towards the west wing where the owlery was located. He stopped and glanced around the stairs to see of Charlie was close by. When he didn't see her he made his way up the stairs and into the honecomb looking circular tower.

"Anda, I have a letter for you to take to Mum and Dad." He called, and then pulled out one of his hidden owl treats. "I have a treat for you." He called, hopeful that it would entice her out.

A moment later a brilliant gold owl swooped down and took up residence on his shoulder bopping her head around to get a better look at the treat in his fingers. Liam laughed and held it up to her flat in his hand. She took it carefully and ate it down. "Happy now?" He asked her.
Anda whooed at him making him smile.
