Chael found himself amidst crowds of people, looking completely awkward. People weren't his favorite creatures, despite being one himself. He looked out of place, arm muscles tightened with stress as his arms were straight with his shoulders a bit higher that usual. Fear was still on his shoulder, the Rattata keeping eyes wide opened at the sight of all the cheeses.
The serious youth would walk around, taking careful steps as he tried to find a secluded location. Anywhere where there were less people. He felt suffocated, like hiding under your bed with a blanket over you. Irony seemed he came from Goldenrod City. His mother and him lived on the southern outskirts, near the Daycare.
Taking a look around, Chael raised his hand to pet Fear. She graciously accepted, running against her trainer's hand with her head. Her tail wagged back and forth, happiness building up.
He hopes for a friend or a for. A friend to talk or a foe to punch their face in.

The Firelife Festival's Lee had attended when she was still in the Orange Islands had been tame during the day and as night approached and the kids were sent to bed got steadily wilder. Now that Lee was old enough to stay out as late as she pleased she was hoping to see just why the parties got so crazy. So far it had seemed like every other festival she'd ever attended.

Finding a empty ally, Chael practically jumped for it. He stretched his arms and legs for a few moments before sitting down in a dry area. "Why did we even come here?" he asked his Rattata who jumped off his shoulder and faced him. Her stare was enough to give a message. They couldn't directly communicate, but she was as close to him as his starter. Sadly he wouldn't send him out here, the alligator was rather overprotective.
Getting what her answer was, he said "Oh shut up." The boy looked away before making a small laugh. He never did such things near people and nobody would probably notice. If they did, he merely deny it.
Chael decided to make his way back into the crowd. Chances were, there were gangs in these alleys and as strong of a trainer he thought he was... the youth could be still out numbered. "Let's go, there might be a competition." he said to Fear, letting the Pokemon jump back up on his shoulder before standing up. For all of his competitive nature, he found a Pokemon most trainers got rid of early on their journey, invaluable.
Eventually walking back into the crowd, Chael bumped into Lee. He had never met the girl, so he didn't address her. He just.... wanted to get through the freaking crowd!
He thought for a second that unleashing his bloodthirsty water type would be a good idea.
((So when is this taking place, even of its not canon? Like after everyone got all their badges, halfway through, or right now?))

OOC: Well it's non-canon so it can take place whenever you like honestly. If your character has all the badges then that's fine. If not then that's fine too. Sorry for late responses, I'm RPing on another site.
"Hey kid watch -" Lee started and stopped. The kid looked like he was having a panic attack. "C'mon, let's find a place for you to sit down." She snatched him by his wrist and started shoving a way through the crowd for them. They got to an open space. It was near a dumpster but it didn't have any people near it and that was the goal.
"How many panic attacks have you had before now? Is this the first one you've ever had?" Lee asked these questions to get the kid's attention on her and just to check his responsiveness. She might've been studying to be a Pokemon doctor but there were a lot of similarities between human and Pokemon biology that most people ignored.

Chael almost tripped over everyone as some older girl grabbed his wrist and dragged him across the crowd. Fear snickered at his cross face before receiving a personal Glare attack from her trainer.
In another life, he was probably an Arbok.
He would zone out as the girl rambled on, faster than a Rapidash could run. Coming from Johto, he knew those things could blaze across fields... literally. An eye twitched in annoyance. Who the heck was she? However, he decided to humor her. "No, it only happens in large crowds." he answered curtly. He almost added when he was up high, having a crazy fear of heights. However, having been coming from a city where crime was common, he knew too much to never reveal all of your weaknesses.
It was hell when he learned Golurks could fly. And THAT was a lesson he learned the hard way.

"Maybe you oughta leave the festival if that's such a big problem for you?" That wouldn't be any fun though. "Hey maybe there's a kid-friendly section or something. You wanna go look for one?"

"Or maybe I can have my Feraligatr give you the answer." Chael said crossly, rather unamused. Fate frowned, frowned greatly, upon Lee. Out of all the eleven year olds she could've come across, she discovered the most unpleasant.
Ever.
Of all time.
His right hand went to the first ball on his belt, a habit he had grown used to. In it was the resting water type, eyes peering past his ball. "One shouldn't avoid something because they dislike it, as it proves cowardice. I figured there'd be a tournament here and so I came."
He'd have used Tsuki, his Umbreon. Dark types normally scared the general people for their mischievous origins. However... the dark type couldn't hurt a fly. A certain Houndoom maybe, but not a fly.

"Mhm. Kid I don't know if you've ever read the handbooks that come programmed in your Pokedex but I'm going to tell you one of the laws that's listed in it. Threatening a human with your Pokemon is illegal unless that human's trying to hurt you. It can get your licence and Pokemon taken away for good and jail time can vary depending on age. That's the kind of thing that never leaves your records." She leaned back against a wall, arms crossed and a too-cheerful smile on her face as she said this. The kid was being a rude brat to someone that was trying to help him. What was his issue? "Your Feraligatr doesn't scare me, I've got something bigger and meaner and more experienced even without a type advantage and I've got something that does have a type advantage. Now as far as facing your fears that's fine and avoiding a phobia isn't cowardice but diving headfirst into a big crowd without a safety net of some kind is stupidity.
She kept the saccharine smile on as she continued speaking. "This is the Firelife Festival, they never have any government sanctioned matches today but Trainer's challenging one another isn't uncommon. If you want to wait then the Beginner's Battle Tourney is at the end of the month. It shouldn't be too expensive for you newbie."
OOC: Chael is the eleven year old that I'd wind up slapping. I swear to God. XD

'Scars never leave the body either.' Chael retorted in his mind. She could say all she wanted but you could see the boy simply did not care what she said. Even if she tried getting the police, the crowd was pretty big. He'd be able to fly away before she had a chance. His fear of heights paled in comparison for his desire to keep his Pokemon.
Besides, what would she say? A brown haired kid threatened her with a supposed 'crazy alligator'? Even if the cops took that seriously, there were a lot of brunette boy trainers. Too many to find him. He could fade into the crowd and leave if he had to. If Lee was going to get the police, she'd be sorely disappointed.
Considering he was the sort who took on an Elite Four on his first day, her threats went right over his head and across to the Orre desert. "She's my safety net." he said, motioning to his Rattata. Docile as ever, Fear glanced at Lee before taking a solid nap. The girl wasn't a threat, not like a few people she had met before who weren't above attacking Pokemon themselves.
"And I have seven badges already. This place was just a stop before I win the last one I need." he'd add. He was no newb to this although most people expected such. Most young trainers went home after getting too tired, but his home was on another continent. There was no going back until he challenged the Champion.
((That's the point. It's entertaining Roleplaying as him xD. Plus a Torterra has a x4 weakness to Ice moves like Ice Fang.))

The Firelife Festival. It was kind of weird, like... he felt like he should know this festival, and yet it didn't feel all that familiar to him. But at the same time, it was like some long lost brother. Perhaps it was because he wasn't at Sootopolis anymore, where there was a similar holiday. He wasn't all too sure what sort of differences there would be, but if anything, it'd be the same.
Graham wandered down the busy streets, hands in his pockets. He had... come a long way in this journey, that was for sure. He wasn't in a hurry like some people, but it wasn't like he was falling behind anyone. And his team? Well, situations change as time marches on, and he found having to replace some key players out to balance out his team. Sheena the Ninjask had long been replaced after evolving and acquiring her alternate form (that he dubbed Corrine) with a Aron. The Steel-type lasted him a very long time, and had easily become one of his most trusted companions after breaking them out of a rockslide that had buried them in a cave in Mt. Fros. He had come to terms after that that he really needed a Fire-type Pokemon, and until he found a move tutor there was nothing he could really do with Miror B., so the Ludicolo was boxed for a while for a Slugma he had caught while in the cavern. However, Slugma proved not to be as great of an asset as he had hoped and the Marcargo was soon swapped with a Vulpix.
His team was still variable since he liked to raise different kinds of Pokemon, but with this he had no complaints.
It was not long before he stumbled upon some familiar faces. Huh... he didn't expect to see them out here. Then again, one was a former champion of a different region and the other was one of the leading Trainers in the region that started at the same time as him.
"Yo. Fancy seeing you guys here." he said cheerfully, oblivious to the tension that was building up between the two.

OOC: It's not a Torterra she's talking about. 8D
"I meant a human safety net, one that can be clearly understood by other humans if something goes wrong with you." She pinched the bridge of her nose. This hadn't been the first time she'd come across some newbie Trainer who thought the "It's just me and my team" approach was actually a good idea. It was part of the reason her dissertation was going to be on why the age range for Trainers should be bumped up from ten to at least sixteen. Kids just hitting puberty had no business running around and without adult supervision she'd been one of the ones to do that. "Look just do me a favor and find a Pokemon Center or a Jenny if you start panicking again."
"Eh?" Another kid was there? He looked a little familiar too but it was more or less, "Hey I saw you a few months ago briefly," than anything else. "Hey there..." What was his name again?

"A friend is a friend and I don't care, whatever race they may be." Chael said, absolutely ignoring what else she said. Some things would never change.
Fear turned towards Grahm, seeing the familiar trainer before wagging her tail. Jumping off Chael's shoulder, she'd go straight to sniffing the boys leg. Curious as always. Chael's team hadn't changed much with one minor exception.
Argos had evolved to his final form way later than he should've. It seemed he was afraid of Feraligatrs although he got over it to save the boy from drowning when a wild Gyarados attacked. He still had Tsuki and Hikari, his dynamic duo Umbreon and Espeon. Both were inseparable so he couldn't have one without the other.
He still had Aiden, his Simisear. Having evolved early on with a Fire Stone, only one move he had wasn't from a TM. Then there was Fear, his Rattata. She didn't want to evolve so Chael didn't ask her to. If she ever decided it was what she wanted, he'd let her do it on her own terms.
Then the mysterious sixth Pokemon. Chael, so far, never took it out. He was too sneaky for his own good. Powerful, smart, and cruel, Chael never wanted to let it out. He didn't even trust it with a professor. The Pokemom was one hundred percent predator. Compared to him, Argos was a teddy near with teeth.

And... the girl didn't remember his name. But at least she remember him somewhat. "Graham." he answered for her. "We partnered up for a while on Route 1. Good to see you again, Lee."
Fear had jumped down to sniff his leg. Seemed like the mouse hadn't bothered evolving at all, whether that was her Trainer's preference or her own. Regardless, that didn't matter much to him. "Good to see you too... Chael, right?"
He then grinned. "So why are we hanging out here in a quiet area when we have a festival going on? Come on, let's go have fun!" he said cheerfully.

"Race and species are two different things kid. If you have panic attacks then you need someone who can speak and be understood by other humans." This kid had to be a spoiled brat at home. She could see why he was on a journey, his parents had probably sent him off so that he'd learn how to act around people correctly. Too bad it hadn't worked. The kid needed a spanking or his mouth washed out with soap he was so disrespectful of his elders.
Enough of the rotten newbie though, the other Trainer at least seemed tolerable. "Yeah you'll have to forgive me for that. I've got a lot on my plate lately. Studying to keep up with my courses and all that."

"Courses?"
Graham took a moment to comprehend what she was saying. And then it clicked. He smiled as he pushed his glasses up a little.
"Ah, you're continuing your education even on your journey. That's certainly commendable. I certainly slacked off quite a bit since coming to Etrua. Maybe I should make an effort to get back into studying. But... there are some things that are better learned and understood outside of the books. To each their own, I guess."
