Name: Hiroko
Spirit: Ame-Onna
Gender: female
Age: Having experienced various interpretations of her age from others, she seems to be in her mid/late teens to early/late twenties appearance-wise.
Personality: Contrary to some possible implications of her height not reaching five feet, Hiroko's character may be described as unhurried upon observation of her, for one. She is quirky and seemingly oblivious according to her initial choice of words. She is also partly forgetful when overexcited. And she is receptive to reality's possibilities and outcomes and goes about her way of things despite and yet also with consideration of such things depending on her circumstances.
Likes: going on -- very long -- walks in the great outdoors, rain
Dislikes: feeling indecisive, staying indoors for too long
Hobbies: watching and/or playing strategy games, looking at and/or eating food, vacationing at the Bathhouse of the Gods
Fears: being unable to make a decision, no longer being able to go on outdoor walks
As a slight inserted elaboration, she is not exempt from having bad dreams from time to time about her fears when she sleeps; examples of such include one about not being able to decide where to go and another of being somehow stuck indoors endlessly searching for a way to get outside.
Appearance:
One of Hiroko's distinguishing features is when her lips spread into a wide, toothy smile. Frequently seen with a rain-soaked look, Hiroko's straight black hair reaches well past her shoulders and is kept with lengthy bangs that often conceal her eyes that have received a variety of descriptions in terms of shade by different individuals who have chanced upon having seen them which many agree to be dark and nearing black in color. Her skin is light and cool-colored and she usually wears a kimono of blue hues.
Powers/Abilities:
From very, very far, far away distances, Hiroko can at will open and close a sort of magical hearing channel on present wishes for rain. Sometimes, this channel randomly opens and closes on its own and before growing from her child form, Hiroko gradually progressed from having nearly no control over this channel. But particularly if it so happens that many are wishing for or cursing rain at the same time, she has to more constantly make an increased conscious endeavor should she opt to and for keeping a close of this channel. Sometimes in the presence of humans, she is mistaken as mist or dust as examples because, also, she can take on the form of a rain cloud varying from somewhat to very clearly visible as well as summon rain to fall from her rain cloud form. And without becoming a rain cloud, she, too, can summon one. Despite being seen often in her humanoid form and being inclined to altering the visibility of her legs while walking in the company of fellow spirits, she is also able to levitate and float around, moving like but without turning into a rain cloud. She is capable of these executions anywhere to her knowledge, such as both indoors and outdoors.
As a side note, despite her ability to become airborne, Hiroko is limited to movements like a rain cloud and cannot move in the way a bird speedily dives like for targeting prey to swipe and such for instance. In addition, physical discomfort may be lessened but still is not non-existent on her part when for example something like a rock or part of a wall goes through her rain cloud state. Therefore, avoiding collisions of such kinds is among her options.
History:
All Hiroko's recollections of her past are like gatherings and assortments of meshed memories clumping different lengths of periods of time. In hand with her personality, she actually doesn't know how old she really is. Being quite the oddball, it's tricky for her to differentiate what she's seen, heard, and imagined based on her experiences by sight, ear, and such.
For as long as she can remember, she's always enjoyed standing in the rain. The way she licks the rain from her hand is akin to for instance when children reach out their hands to sample falling drops they catch, the difference being that Hiroko doesn't look to stand beneath any shade before doing so.
She has fewer memories of the days in her form as a child than she does of the days in her grown current form. One memory of hers as a child, in which she does not recall why she'd been feeling sad while sitting and hugging her knees close and being soaked further under gray skies, is among the oldest reminders of how not only does she enjoy doing so but it is comforting as well for her to lick raindrops from her hands. There were also times when she felt overwhelmed by the many wishes for rain that she was hearing from different directions. Also, in contrast, there came times the presence of the rain she brought in her wake were complained about during times when wishes for rain were scarcely heard in her traveling. From her many different encounters of what transpires over the years of her existence, she developed further into who she is now.
Thus, there are different possibilities to the times she would stand still in the rain and lick raindrops from her hand, like such examples as taking some time to decide where to head to next with the consideration of any presence or absence of wishes for rain being heard and other possible external circumstances or simply relaxing.
