THE STORY Vier Vier. A world where Fiends(monsters, creatures, beasts, and demons) roam freely. The people of Vier have grown accustomed to combat due to the constant struggle of man versus fiend. Over time it became custom on Vier for certain people to become Hunters, those that would train specifically to destroy fiends and defend their fellows. If the constant war against the hostile monsters were not enough, the monsters spirits do not pass to the next world when killed. The spirit continues on as a semi-corporeal entity that cannot be physically harmed but is still capable of causing harm. Vierans have long ago learned to seal fiend spirits within special runes. Those that have learned to capture spirits are known as Guardians, and there have always been few of them. Because Hunters were so adept at destroying living fiends and Guardians were necessary to capture the spirit that would emerge moments after the fiends death Hunters and Guardians commonly worked together in pairs. Vier - 18 years ago The world of Vier is finally at a tenuous peace after years of war. All five of the worlds governments combatted for power and land in a drawn out free for all world war. None were able to claim a victory. Anaria and Camica of the western continent came out of the war with the least amount of damage to ther peoples and their economies. The two neighboring countries were on the brink of destruction when they signed a treaty to ally against their mutual enemies. Their combined forces were enough to push the separate forces of Calivert, Donaliag, and Taolizohrn back to their own eastern continent. The war ended shortly afterwards when none of the eastern continent nations could claim victory over another and treaties were drawn for an end to the hostilities. After the war Anaria and Camica became one nation, The Nation of Duality, and are quite prosperous. The three eastern nations are left in poverty while they still attempt to rebuild from their disastrous losses in economy. To make matters worse the fiends remain a problem. Many Hunters and Guardians were killed in the war and fiends are a ever present problem to the rebuilding of all three nations. Vier - 6 years ago The northern nation of the eastern continent, Calivert, begun putting efforts into building a new complex in their capitol city. The Calivert Hunter/Guardian Corps. They felt that they would never be able to rebuild their nation while constantly being attacked by fiends. They decided to create an organization whose sole purpose was to destroy fiends and capture their spirits. Within a few short years they intended to have several teams of three members. Each member was to be trained to either kill fiends, capture their spirits, or both. Vier - Present Day Construction of the Calivert Hunter/Guardian Corps. Headquarters has been completed for several years. Several teams have passed training and been assigned a designation thus far. More are expected to pass at any time. Also there is a slow, but steady, influx of people coming to the Corps to join.

Important Information Hunter Guardian Teams: Currently the only standing team, due to shortage of members, is that of Kiro, Mathias, and William. Other members of the Corps. are available to recruited to a team on a mission to mission basis. Calivert Military Ranks: Highest to Lowest: Marshal General Brigadier Colonel Major Captain Lieutenant Cadet (Hunters and Guardians of the Corps. hold an Unofficial rank between that of a Major and a Captain.) Fiend Spirits and Sealing: When a fiend dies its spirit leaves its body. The spirit can then continue to attack. It cannot cause physical harm, only spiritual damage. If a fiend spirit were to swipe with its claws at a wall, nothing would happen, the claws would pass right through since the wall does not possess a spirit and fiend is therefore incapable of interacting with it. If a fiend spirit were to swipe with its claws at a human, animal, or even a plant, the claws would again pass right through, but the target of the claws would feel the pain as if they had been slashed with real, living, corporeal claws. The fiend spirit is able to interact with humans, plant, and animals by attacking their spirits. This does not cause physical damage, but spiritual damage. It leaves no visible mark, but the injury is just as real and a living entity could still be killed due to "wounds" sustained in this way. A fiend spirit cannot be destroyed by conventional means. Normal weapons will simply pass through them and likewise cannot deflect their attacks. Weapons may be treated with special liquids that have been "blessed" by having sealing runes placed within them. Weapons treated in this way are able to, then, interact with a fiend spirit and can cause them harm. Any damage inflicted on a fiend spirit is temporary as they possess incredible regenerative powers, strong enough to prevent them from ever being truly destroyed. The only method of stopping a fiend spirit permanently is to seal it within an ancient rune. This method of dealing with fiends and their spirits has been passed down for millennia. Nobody remembers how or why this works, but are simply thankful that it does. A seal, those that are used for blessing and those that are used for sealing, are both self degenerative in nature. This means that a rune, once created, continues to decline in strength until, over the course of mere minutes, it no longer has any sealing capabilities. Blessing runes act similarly, beginning to deteriorate immediately, and the effects of their blessed liquids also deteriorates at a similar rate. This is why Guardians are so important. They are trained to create seals in seconds, to seal a fiend when a the time comes, or to bless weapons as needed. Corps. Identification: Instead of a card or a badge to display ones identity and status as a member within the Corps, members are given a plain steel dagger. The dagger is solid steel, including the grip, and comes with a matching sheath. Each members name and information is engraved into both the sheath and the handle of their dagger before it is given to them. The Corps Executives felt that given the purpose of the organization giving out a functional identification seemed prudent. It is not uncommon for a Hunter or Guardian to lose their ID dagger, particularly if they are forced to use it in combat. If they ask a member of the Executive offices they can have a new one made for them within the day. Nations/Goverments: Calivert: Prior to, and during the last major world war, Calivert was a monarchy. It was presided over by King Roland, his Queen Maria, and their children, Prince Michael and Princess Isabel. With the downfall of the nation of Calivert so, too, came the downfall of the throne, shortly after the end of the war. There were many who wanted to persecute or even execute the King and his family for bringing such ruin upon them. But there were equally as many that recognized that King Roland had done the best he could in a bad situation. In the end Roland and his family were allowed to retire to a small farm at the furthest north coast of the nation. It is believed that he and his family still reside there. After the King was removed from power a council was established. 13 men and women. In the process of choosing council members the nation was divided into 12 provinces, with the capitol as the center point for the divisions. One member was selected from each province, chosen by the people that lived there. The 13th was chosen by the people of the capitol to represent them as the 13th province. The Council now is the primary governmental figure of Calivert. They hold public Council meetings weekly and answer questions and solve problems accordingly as they are brought to their attention. All matters are voted upon by all in attendance, allowing the people to have a direct say in the matters concerning their nation. Taolizohrn: Taolizohrn is, was, and most likely always will be a relatively poor country. The people are spread out living in small villages or isolated farms. The capitol is the only major city in the country and is run by a powerful dictatorship. This system of government evolved from the Taolizohrnans ancient history as war like nomads. They still retain their ancient tradition of being able to challenge their leaders for the right to rule in single combat. This tradition has been corrupted though, many of the past, and the current, dictators of the nation using the force of their army to thwart any would be challengers. The current Dictator is a man named Jeoril Raast'el. Taolizohrn fared poorly in the war, not having the numbers to win many major battles. They were pushed back to their own borders, and sometimes beyond, time and again. The stubborn Taolizohrnans would not relent though. They fought to the bitter end until the war finally burned itself out and it became clear that there was nothing to gain by continuing. Taolizorhn, while left as the poorest of the five nations at the end of the war still had lost the least. They had not much to start with and so, at the end, while they had lost many lives and resources, they still had not lost more than they could spare. The hardy and determined people carried on and are almost fully recovered to their former strength again, though their numbers are still far lower than originally. Danaliag: Donaliag is the most varied of the five nations. Having the most differing types of environments it has many differing cultures and religions. Even the people of Donaliag have varying appearances. Despite the many differences of their people Dolaliagans are very accepting people. They have few problems coming to terms with other peoples views and opinions, so long as they are not questioned or judged on their own. Donaliag did well in the war, their people came together quickly and held a strong sense of loyalty for each other and their home nation. From the very start of the war Donaliag had no intentions of expanding, the nation was content with what they had. They were determined to keep what they had, though. They focused on defense, strengthening their borders and turning back invasion. They fought with hearts and souls to protect their homes and their way of life. Their greatest threat was from Taolizohrn, whose people thought that peaceable Donalaig would be easy prey. They pushed them back again and again, and even past the original border on more than one occasion. When the war finally wound down they were still on the Taolizohrn side of the border but willingly gave the gained land back to the neighboring country. Donaliag has been recovering swiftly, though still has years, maybe decades to go before their shattered economy and population rise from the ashes of war again. They have returned to their peaceful lives, and willingly allow immigrants from all nations to travel through or even move into, their country. Donaliag is currently ruled over by a council of representatives, one from each of the cultures of the nation. Anaria, Camica, and The Nation of Duality: To the peoples of the Eastern Continent not much is known about this nation. It is known that both societies developed from tribal origins, though of very different styles. Following the war and their merging into on nation TNoD has maintained a stance of isolation, keeping themselves separate from their Eastern neighbors and focusing on their own development.

Members/Character Profiles PM all applications to me: StoicNinja. All Characters will be Human. No half-human-half-whatevers, none. Also, I will not be accepting characters that are the typical emo, mary sue, or sadist/masochist, I would like some variety. This is a medieval/dark ages style roleplay, though military technology has advanced enough to create simple flintlock and muzzleloader weapons. There is no magic in this roleplay, with the exception of spirit capturing. Instead there are powers individual, for the most part, to each person. History/Background: He was raised as an orphan because both of his parents died while he was still very young. He grew up in the orphanage with very little to call his own. Despite this he was a generally cheerful boy. Once he was old enough he moved out of the Orphanage and took a job, He spent the first weeks sleeping in a local monastery. After a few weeks he was contacted by the Orphanage. Now that he had come of age they could release certain items to him that were left from his parents. They were weapons, clothing and armor. because of the dangerous nature of these items they were not allowed to give them to him until after he had come of age and/or moved out of the orphanage. His father was a Hunter and his mother was a Guardian. Shortly thereafter he decided to join the Calivert Hunter/Guardian Corps. Sleeping in a monastery wasn't the way he wanted to spend the rest of his days. And he wasn't making nearly enough money at his job to afford housing of any sort. He decided that this was the best option. They would feed him, clothe him, house him, and pay him. And in return all he had to do was train himself into a weapon capable of following in his parents legacy. No problem. *Misc: Weapon of Choice: A Katana which he calls Legacy. It has a stylized crescent engraved in the blade near the hilt. The sheath is polished black wood and the handle is wrapped in worn black leather strips. This was passed down to him from his mother. A very stylized broadsword called the Howling Blade. This is a weapon passed down to him from his father. The hilt is in the shape of a large crescent, with three spokes coming from the inner curve, holding a stone in its center. The blade is shaped like a wolfs head, with a heavy reinforced edge. A Kukri knife. A no-dachi (a larger version of a katana) with a hilt in the shape of the Howling Blades blade. He also has 14 custom throwing daggers, each one with his necklaces crescent symbol engraved into them. Azure Poison  Kiro Name: Kiro Age: Unknown, estimated to be around 19-20. He is lean and also quite muscular but still maintains an average maneuverable width. He is known by or at least heard of by most other Hunters and or Guardians. Occupation: Hunter Hobbies: Kiro takes real pleasure in his everyday naps he takes. He loves to relax as well as have a good time eating and at the same time, spending time with others. Likes: Kiro finds it easy for himself to be at peace while it’s raining and or when it’s quiet. He enjoys relaxing but he also will happily entertain himself with training on occasion. Dislikes: He will become very irritated when people take irrational actions and usually is obligated to fix people’s mistakes. Strengths: He is very experienced with the arts as well as swordsmanship. His speed is by far commendable and knows how to turn the tide of battle in an instant. He can be very stealthy when he wants to be. He is also quite nimble and good with reacting quickly to situations. Weaknesses: Kiro isn’t as quick moving and agile in cold weather. If your able to immobilize him, he won’t be much of a threat. Personality: Kiro is very outgoing and is social able with almost anyone who approaches him. He is relatively intelligent and will help give advice when asked. He thinks rationally and sees things for what they are. He is an overall friendly person. Motivation: He wishes to protect the people and good in this world to help make up for the mistakes and bad deeds he had made when he was part of Axis all those years ago. Though, he knows deep down that he can never fully be forgiven for what he did. History/Background: Kiro was born into an organization called Axis that specialized in assassinations. He was trained for as long as he could remember until he reached the age of fourteen. At that time, he managed to escape from Axis and whenever members were sent to silence him for betrayal, Kiro would slay them and continue living in his own freedom. Around this time, he became part of a new growing community called the Calivert Hunter/Guardian Corps. Once he turned sixteen, he was finally fully accepted into the new organization and has been part of it ever since. *Misc: N/A Weapon of Choice: Kiro carries two extremely sharp, piercing katanas. They are both sheathed in black sheaths on each side, this helps keep an opponent guessing from which direction will he draw his sword from. His eye techniques: All of Kiro’s eye techniques will take effect once he makes eye contact with someone. The effects cannot be deactivated unless Kiro uses Lydon eyes or the time for the effect runs out. Kiro can deactivate his eye techniques at anytime but will still have to wait for the next time to use them again. Also, once Kiro learns all six eye techniques, he will be able to mix eye techniques, one in each eye. -Kyto(K-EYE-TOE): Making eye contact with Kyto eyes makes the person‘s body feel ten times as heavy as it really is. After activation, the Kyto eyes will last only five minutes. The effect of Kyto eyes also last five minutes. Kiro can only use Kyto eyes once every day. Example: After three minutes of activation, Kyto eyes finally make contact with the enemy. The enemy feels the effect but it will only last five minutes. The Kyto eyes themselves will deactivate within two minutes.-Shyto(SH-EYE-TOE): Making eye contact with Shyto eyes causes that person‘s perception, reflexes, and reaction time much slower. After activation, the Shyto eyes will only last five minutes. The effect of Shyto eyes also last five minutes. Kiro can only use Shyto eyes once every day.-Lydon(L-EYE-DUHN): Making eye contact with Lydon eyes will nullify or cure any and all eye technique effects instantly. After activation, the Lydon eyes will last ten minutes. Kiro can only use Lydon eyes twice each day.-Rychi(R-EYE-CHI): Making eye contact with Rychi eyes will allow Kiro to create an illusion within his opponent's mind causing copies of himself to appear however he likes. Only up to two copies can be made. Activation lasts roughly 4 minutes and the illusion will last also four minutes. Kiro can only use Rychi once every other day. Likes: the admiration of his comrades, doing the right thing, and winning the day. Dislikes: losing a friend be it battle or otherwise. Strengths: Skill at arms, keeping his word once given, dependable. Weaknesses: Naive to a fault, sees the world in black and white. Personality: mild mannered and friendly, he likes to think that everyone, especially comrades, can just get along fine. When the swords are out, he is protective and cunning with his blade. History/Background: Mathias grew up as the only son of a very prestigious household. It was seen to that he should never want for anything, and all was provided for him. Even so, Mathias' father was frequently away on official business, and more than anything Mathias wanted his father to be proud of him and to earn his respect. Talking with the vassals and men-at-arms in service to the Valenti family, Mathias heard stories upon stories and accounts of his father's bravery and strategic genious on the battlefield. After leaving active duty and entering into service with the Calivert Hunter Guardian Corps, Mathias new what he wanted to do over anything, and quickly enrolled to join there when he was old enough. He tries his best to be a useful member of the corps, but sometimes leaps before he looks. Likes: training, meditating, rainy days Dislikes: people who criticizes his background, loud places, uptight people Hobbies: hiking, gardening Strengths: a strong staff and unarmed combatant, rune shaping, confident Weaknesses: can lose his temper if someone puts down his school, mentor or friends, sometimes overconfident. Motivation: To become one of the greatest guardians of his time and to make his mentor and school proud. History/Background: Hiro was first trained by an old priest who traveled to his village at the age of 8. Hiro had always been able to sense the presence of the supernatural as a child and often feared what others saw of him and his ability. The old priest introduced him to an acquaintance of his who happened to be a Guardian. Through his mentor, he learned the art of rune making and their effects. He also learned how to fight with a simple staff as well as unarmed since sticks can be found nearly anywhere and you may not always have your weapons at hand. At the age of 12 he was able to seal a minor spirit and by the time he reached 18 he could travel on his own. Before leaving his mentor versed him in the art of spirit channeling, a technique that requires a lifetime to master. As a parting gift, he presented Hiro with the traveler’s robes of his school. He was now free to being a new journey of self discovery. His travels eventually brought him to the steps of the Calivert Hunter Gardian Corps. Misc.: Aside from Rune creation Hiro practices the ancient art of spirit channeling which allows users to use their own spiritual energy to amplify their bodies or use it to attack fiends. Hiro is only able to perform any combination of these abilities up to 5 uses per day. He understands the importance of having energy to seal fiends is more important and sets limits upon himself to avoid running out of energy. - Astral Eyes – allows the user to see all fiend spirits within sight for 1 minute including those that are cloaked. Spirits appear outlined in bright red light. Possessed individuals emit a red aura around their bodies - Resounding shout – concentrating his energy into his lungs and throat, Hiro can let out tremendous shout that he can project in one direction or around him stunning his enemies for a short time. - Heaven’s Fist - in cases of emergency Hiro can imbue his fists as if they were blessed by runes. However in its current state the effects only last half as long as a blessing from a rune, however his blows become faster and deadlier than a normal weapon. Weapon of choice: – A steel reinforced staff passed down from his mentor to use during his journey. The staff is made of a unique wood that is very durable yet flexible. It is lined with various inscriptions that are said to help channel spiritual energy. Unarmed combat – An expert in unarmed combat, Hiro’s body becomes a living weapon through constant training and fighting. Upper Clothing: Bear hide vest with the lighter leather added as armor. Underneath his a long sleeve shirt, made of the same materials as his pants. Lower Clothing:Dark brown cloth with a lighter leather armor over top. Shoes:Old boots made from bear hide, trimmed with the fur. Gloves:Rough leather gloves with the fingers cut off. Other: He wears a cloak made from the hide of a bear, though in truth it's more than that. The forelegs are strapped around his arms with the paws over top his hands. And the head with skull, still attached will pull down over his face like a helm, with him looking through the eyes. Social Standing: He is well known within the Corps for his brutality and efficiency with his work. Though none would say it to his face, many refer to him as "Exile" and some as "The Fallen Chieftain" or "Demon". To his face most people just call him "Bear". Occupation: Hunter Personality: Cold, quiet. Likes:Fighting, training, drinking, killing, darkness, and silence. Dislikes: Talking and most people. Hobbies: He takes pleasure in fighting and killing. Strengths: Few can match his speed and what he lacks in speed he makes up with experience in battle and the shear efficiency of every movement having purpose in a fight. Weaknesses: He is getting older and he's never been a fast and agile fighter. Motivation: He wants to kill every Fiend. History/Background: He was born into the Kodkine, Demon Kin, clan. Growing up in a lifestyle of battle, survival, and the hunt. As a child his father was the chieftain of his clan and later killed his father to take over the role. In truth it was a mercy to his father whom had grown increasingly ill after a fight with a particularly nasty fiend and it's spirit. It is/was his clan's calling to fight the fiends and remove them from the world and thus they took no part of the war between the nations. It was this reason alone that when the war came to an end his tribe was forced to disband and he as the leader was exiled from his homeland in the southernmost reaches of Camica. Though no longer allowed to be a citizen of the Nation of Duality he traveled and found battle in the lands across the ocean. Eventually joining with the Calivert corps as they put their organization for removing the fiend threat from the world of Vier. He had found a home albeit similar to his tribe in duty though effectively different in every other way. Misc.: His abnormal size and strength also comes with an unusual resilience to disease, poisons, and even physical damage, often he acts unhindered by his wounds, especially in the heat of battle and recovers from them twice as fast as most people. He possesses a kind of battle fury to which seems to amplify his natural abilities even more. Weapon of choice: A greataxe he simply calls "Bane". It is rumored that he can cleave the head off a fiend with a single blow from the axe. And many people find the fact that he wields the axe one handed to be an almost inhuman feat. Between the two edges of the weapon on either side of the head is embossed and it has been noted that by tracing his blood over the rune that he can strike a fiend's spirit. He is also quite experienced using his bare hands and often does while wielding Bane in his right hand Mount:An Auroch named Kolo.

Dramatis Personas This is going to be a little bit different from the way I usually do things, but I'm hoping it will be a change in a positive direction. Over the years that this roleplay has been running many members have come and gone. And I've built up quite the cast of characters in the process. As I stated in the Rules, I reserve the right to use.reuse the characters of any member that leaves the roleplay. Most of these are those. Also if a member shows the skill and displays a commendable level of activity I will more than likely be open to allowing that member to roleplay more than one character. I will be listing those here as well. StoicNinja's Additional Characters:Tyrone "Ty" Calcite Tyrone is a large muscular black man approaching middle age. He has black dreadlocks, mismatched purple and red eyes, and scars on his back, right forearm, and the right side of his face. He wears blacks pants tucked into black combat boots and a sleeveless black shirt underneath a white trench coat. The right sleeve has been torn from his jacket, revealing his scars, and there are metal plates fixed to the both shoulders. The back of the jacket has three long stitches across it, matching his scars underneath. He wears cloth wrappings on his hands and a large chain necklace. Tyrone is a well known and renowned Hunter. Tyrone is a very friendly person, and fiercely loyal to his comrades. He is normally very calm. He likes to spend time in the company of people he deems to be possessed of good character, though he also spends long periods in quiet contemplation. He dislikes senseless violence and people of poor character. He likes to train and play chess and shogi. His greatest strengths are his determination and willpower along with his excellent physical conditioning. He is incredibly strong. His weaknesses include being too bulky to be agile, and not being able to adapt well in combat. As the story goes Ty joined the Corps. early in its conception. He was quickly assigned to a team and sent out to slay a powerful fiend. During the course of the battle, though they were able to defeat and seal the fiend, both of his teammates were mortally wounded and died. Though injured himself Tyrone carried them back to the Corps. where they were laid to rest. Since then he as never accepted a permanent position on any team, instead being an eternal substitute. Tyrone carries a huge broadsword. It is nine feet in length, with only two of that being handle. The blade is nearly 2 feet wide with jagged and irregular edges. Also the entire sword is pitch black, so it appears almost as if the entire thing were formed of cut and chipped obsidian.
