You know, Jay had always wondered what it would be like to fight herself. She just never thought she would be fighting herself as a minipet. Her paws slowly clacked against the ground as she took in the unusual appearance of her copy. Could the horsewoman-turned-minipet even consider it to be her copy? It didn’t reflect the same bright blue, white, and black colors of her pelt. No, the other gukumatz had weird, distorted colors. She was on all four of her legs when she swished her tail feathers back and forth. She lowered her head at her not-quite-a-clone. “Are you supposed to be me?” Jay eventually called out to the other, but it didn’t respond. Not at first, at least.Stats Jaida (Jay) HP: 18/18 Faction: Horsemen Element: Water Keys: Glass, Blood Fragments: 1

“Are you supposed to be me?” she repeated, but the other gukumatz still remained silent. Jay huffed, her head lowered until her beak grazed the ground, but her blue eyes never left her clone. “I said are you supposed to be me? Hey. Hey. Hey! Listen to me! Are you listening? Are you are you are you—?” The distorted gukumatz shrieked. “Stop it! Stop it stop it stop it your screeching is going to make me deaf!” Jay threw back her head and pushed the other gukumatz in the chest. “How rude!”Stats Jaida (Jay) HP: 18/18 Faction: Horsemen Element: Water Keys: Glass, Blood Fragments: 1

It yelled back at Jay, “Rude? Rude? You think I’m rude! If anything, it should be you who’s rude! You rejected me. You abandoned me.” The distorted gukumatz shook its head angrily before it lashed out at Jay with its beak.

Jay shrieked before she bashed her head against the body of her copy. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” she shouted back before she jumped back a few feet to widen the distance between them. She pumped her wings a couple time before her feet touched the ground again. Jay shook her head as she recalled the attack. There was something weird about the other gukumatz. It radiated a thick miasma. She shook her head again. Whatever it was, she was going to have to beat this thing. She was from the war clan, after all. Jay puffed out her furry chest before she lunged out, her wings spread out.Stats Jaida (Jay) HP: 16/18 Faction: Horsemen Element: Water Keys: Glass, Blood Fragments: 1

Her copy rose up on two legs and pushed Jay to the floor with its front legs. It let out shrieking laughter. “You’re not as strong anymore, are you? Because the Clans are declining after those wretched hunters.” Both of them uttered the same name with equal amounts of hate. “You used to be so powerful, so skilled, but look at you now, Jay. Try looking in a mirror.”

Jay closed her eyes for a moment as she continued to lay sprawled on the ground. There was a ring of truth to what her other self said. The Clans were not as strong as they used to be, not after that incident. However, Jay could not agree with everything the distorted gukumatz claimed. Slowly, she forced herself to stand back up and fling her entire body at her opponent. “You’re wrong! I’m still strong!”Stats Jaida (Jay) HP: 10/18 Faction: Horsemen Element: Water Keys: Glass, Blood Fragments: 1

She was met with only laughter. “Strong? Really? Are you sure about that?”

She snarled back at the other. “Yes! I’m sure!” Jay roared loudly as she flung herself at her copy again and angrily tore her beak into its body until it disappeared. There was a sudden feeling of realization. The strange calling. The unusual pull of the shards. It was a warning, and this time around the punishment had been light. Jay shrieked when she saw flashes of light, but then realized it gave way to scenery. There was a forest near a lake. Two forces. One with a staff and the other a sword. Hatred. Power. She could feel it as they collided against each other before there was another burst of light and she knew it was time to go home at last.Stats Jaida (Jay) HP: 9/18 Faction: Horsemen Element: Water Keys: Glass, Blood Fragments: 1
