He was almost back to Amphi when another fragment blinked to light. Roch hesitated, for a second, then raced forward, grabbing it, as well. The same screeching sound came from it as the last one, he thought, his ears going down like a bad dog's. But somehow these were important, right? Jay knew there had been something fishy about the squid. They shouldn’t have meddled with it in the first place. They should have pondered about it more, but it was a little too late for that now. Sighing, she let herself fall and entertained herself by watching the colored blurs fly past her before she crashed to the ground with a soft thud. She roared, quickly rolling to her feet and shaking out her wings. Jay craned her neck to examine her wings and fortunately they were relatively intact. She cocked her head when she realized where exactly the minipets had landed in. It was an unusual land, but Jay liked unusual. If she wasn’t a minipet she would have gladly wanted to explore the area with wild abandon, but then the pale green of certain fragments caught her attention. A nearby fragment flickered to life and the gukumatz attempted to reach for it. She probably shouldn’t have. Her eyes widened when her senses filled with a loud scream before she realized she had dissipated. Bewildered, her tail flicked back and forth as Jay spun around. “What? What? What?” She felt so weird. What in the...Stats Jaida (Jay) HP: 30/30 Faction: Horsemen Element: Water Keys: Glass, Blood Fragments:

While Jay attempted to figure out what exactly was wrong with her—there was this odd sensation that the dissipation wasn’t normal. She didn’t feel completely herself. It was like something had taken a part of her without her consent, but she couldn’t tell what that exact something was. The feathers of her wings ruffled before she decided to continue walking. It would be better than fretting over something she didn’t have a complete grasp over. Up ahead she spotted another fragment embedded into one of the malformed minipets. She picked up the pace and reached out toward it with her claws, but the minipet opened its eyes and roared, biting and snapping at her. Jay shrieked back at it and smacked it with her wing. It took her a while, but eventually she managed to take the fragment from the minipet.Stats Jaida (Jay) HP: 30/30 Faction: Horsemen Element: Water Keys: Glass, Blood Fragments: 1

She held onto the fragment while she began to move forward again. Curiously, Jay looked at the television sets and the odd minipets. This was a strange place indeed. What was this place, exactly? Her face lit up when she noticed a fragment floating above a particular television set. She flapped her wings a couple times so that she could get closer to the piece. She held out her claws to grab it, but instead it sparked to life and gave her an electric shock. She yelped, recoiling. Jay glared at the fragment as it began to fade away.Stats Jaida (Jay) HP: 30/30 Faction: Horsemen Element: Water Keys: Glass, Blood Fragments: 1

Quote: 21- 40: A fragment seems to be half-merging with one of the oddly malformed minipets just floating in space. You make a grab for it, but not before the minipet's eyes snap to life and grabs you, attempting you drag you away. It gnashes unusual teeth at you, chatters in a strange and high shriek, and only with the greatest amount of effort do you finally extract the fragment from the minipet. You obtain ONE fragment. He saw the glint of another fragment, and inwardly cursed as he realized that it was starting to merge with one of the partial minipets. He headed for it, grabbing the fragment. The gleaming, eerie eyes of the partial minipet opened and it gnashed its teeth at Roch, grabbing him and trying to drag him off. "GIT. OFF. MY. JACKIN'. SHINY!!" Roch bellowed, slamming tiny feet straight into the minipet's eyes and shoving as hard as he could. He jerked out of the minipet's hold, triumphantly holding his third fragment. Then he headed back to Amphi's side, his hoard in his arms. Roch the Jester Treat Faction: Amityville Element: Dark HP: 18/30 Location: Void Room Keys: Glass Key, Blood Key, Toxic Key Fragments: 3

Amphi flitted her eyes briefly when she heard Roch's call, the proceeded to keep them close, something about an echoing get your something off shiny.
Shiny things? The mermaid shifted when she felt the presence of another, blinking open to see Roch treat with a ton of shinies in his hand. Sitting up, she chuckled as she looked at them all.
"Wow Roch, You got a lot." She pretended like her whole body didn'e hurt right now, that she was tired and homesick and wanted to just curl up somewhere and sleep. This trip to minipet land was becoming exhausting.

"Um, yeah, it was annoying," he said as he dropped down next to her head, patting her gently. "I wish I could heal you," he said, examining her cuts and bruises. "If I had my guitar--" He'd be able to do nothing with these stubby arms and paws, he finished silently. There was one way... "Amphi... this is gonna sound cold blooded," he said after a moment of thinking. "But if I force you to dissipate, you'd come back feeling better... do you want to do that? Or would you rather not?" "It's okay!" The mermaid exclaimed, "Your doing enough by being around with me! After all, I got these wounds by getting through the maze. The plants were a killer..." She ended on a whisper. "I wish you did too! A song would be nice." Amphi giggled and then stood up to shake.
it did sound cold-blooded when he explained it. Especially if there would be lingering guilt of doing such a thing. And for her to die because she couldn't hand a couple of scratches? That wasn't a strong character. She wanted to be strong.
"It's okay!" She walked around, "I can still walk, I'll just have to be careful in battles if we have another! I don't want you to feel like you have to do that!" Amphi gave him a detriemened look. "Your injured too and can still walk...so I'll be strong and deal with it too!"

He watched her, and he realized a lot of things as she looked so determined, as she turned down the easy way out. He actually, seriously, LIKED this ghoul. She wasn't the strongest he'd ever met, she didn't even rank in that list, honestly. She wasn't the bravest, either. But she just tried so jackin' hard, he thought, feeling a stupid smile pulling at his lips. She faced her fears, and she trudged through her difficulties. "Sit down, we're not going anywhere," he told her, sitting down, himself. "I'll sing to you instead of play, would that work?" Danny got her nose out of the trash and back to the big center, where a big pile of television sparked with electricity. Her eyes caught a kirinni that looked like Amphi, and her eyes lit up. Then a Roch treat appeared beside the kirinni and she frowned. Roch-treat reminded her of the real Roch- he was smiling and looking perfectly content without her.
O-Oh. Well ... she ... didn't need to talk to him. He would probably just make that scowl again and tell her to leave him alone. At least, that's how it went down in Danny's mind. Danny sadly walked off, head hung and tail drooping between her little minipet legs. She missed Roch, but he was mad and when people were mad they didn't want to talk to you. That's what Rosalie said.
A poor gukumatz wandered into the televisions trap, and Danny bounded over to help, eager to distract herself from the Roch dilemma. "Hey, you okay little guy?" she prodded. "That looked like it hurt ..."Quote: Faction: Amityville Element: Fire HP: 30 Location: Void ZoneFragments: 1 2

Rep fell into what he could only rationalise as a kind of nightmare. The world blew past in a blur of colour and images, it was a sensory overload for his already very finely tuned feline senses, and he found himself just seeking out for the ground vainly, claws outstretched.
He landed with a soft thump as even cat reflexes didn't quite cushion his large size, tail flicking behind him irritably. He had no idea where he was, and as he looked down, he froze. There was no ground, no ******** ground at all.
It took him a good bit to look up from where he was frozen in place. Just pretend its glass, he told himself, just glass, a glass floor, yes that was okay. Everything was twisted and skewed, all wrong. He wandered through the nightmarish landscape wishing vainly he could wake up.
A fragment glittered nearby and in a vain sort of hopefulness, he hopped to seize it.
He very quickly let go as the moment his paws touched it, there was a shrill, agonising sound in his head. Okay, maybe that wasn't such a good idea.

A long, long, disorienting way down. Dizziness. Jordan's body twisted without conscious thought, cat-flexible spine and tail orienting towards what seemed to be down, or at least the direction towards which he was falling, and he landed on his feet with enough force that he was surprised he hadn't broken anything. Among the weird distortions and the television screens, mirror shards floated. That was what they needed to collect, Jordan remembered. One turned slowly in midair nearby, and he rose up on his hind legs to reach for it. A grating, rattling shriek tore through his skull, and he thought he screamed as he felt himself falling apart. Mitzi sighed in relief as the squid-thing finally left them all alone - but it didn't last long. Almost before it had gone she felt herself sucked through the doorway that appeared, not even time to try to grab onto anything, and she was tumbling ears-over-tail down down the giant hole. It seemed to go on forever, and all of the fears from her time in the War isle came rushing back, oh no oh no oh no ohnoohnoohno... She had just worked herself into full on panic when she hit the ground, hard enough to knock her out of her mental loop and leave her dazed. It surprised her so much that she didn't even notice she hadn't taken lasting damage from it, and it took her a few moments to push herself up and look around. She couldn't figure out at first where she was. She couldn't figure out at second or third either, actually, and she just kept looking around in confusion. Until she saw one of the weird sort-of-a-minis going after one of the shards. Well, whatever those were, they seemed important, and she wanted one for a closer look! She made a dash for it, grabbing on before it fully disappeared into the other mini, and fighting it with everything she had until she tumbled backward, shard clasped in her paws. She bared her little bunny-teeth at the other mini, which finally backed off, leaving her with her prize. He wasn't really sure why. But as he gazed at the Usagi-hime about to go after the shard, he... he really wanted another one. Even if he felt, well, empty inside. Like some part of his little self was gone. "Wait!" Kaneshiro leaned forward to snatch. By all means, it could appear that he was actually saving her life; the shard sent a nasty electric current through his body in a shock of AGHAGHAGH. Poor Kaneshiro let out a little whimper. But ... he had a shard now. Two of them? Ugh, when would this day end? Quote: Name: Kaneshiro Stats: N/A

Just as Rep stepped back from the offending shard, a familiar flash of red caught the corner of his eye. If he had been human his expression would have gone from serious grim dread to clear delight. Somehow Jordan had made it through that damn maze, if he had managed it, Harrison could too, and they could finally go home.
Leaving the crystal behind, he turned to begin to trot towards the other cat, tail aloft, a spring in his step, mouth open to greet him and congratulate him on making it out.
The words died in his throat and his eyes grew round and wild as the all too familiar cat screamed and disintegrated. His horror was absolute and he could hardly believe what he had just witnessed, glued to the spot like a statue. He tried every excuse, it was an illusion, he was more injured than he thought, it was someone who looked like Jordan, it was a mirage, he was dreaming. But nothing took away that heavy nightmarish weight of dread in his gut. In a gesture of desperation he could do nothing but yowl, the sound pained and drawn out, twisted into the other hunter's name as it trailed off.
His fur was on end, his ears were back and he was like a feral thing as he leapt to launch himself at the nearest fragment with a yell. "******** YOU ******** THINGS AND THIS ******** MISSION AND NEVER WORKING OUT." But he didn't even get the satisfaction of swiping it, of breaking it or at least gathering some measure of vengeance, instead a shock ran through him that made him kick out his legs stiffly and fall hard to the ground, fur smoking slightly as the crystal faded away.
He curled up into a despairing little ball of cat and gave up.
1-20: A fragment hovers above a television set but as you half-hover, half-walk close to it, it sparkles and comes to life, electrocuting you. The fragment itself fades and disappears.
