The Hero Code || General Rules

1 ~ Follow Gaia ToS
It's the most basic and most heard rule on Gaia Guilds. So, let's get out the way straight away then; please abide by the Gaia ToS.

2 ~ No God-Modding
God-Modding's meaning has changed considerably over the six years I've been RPing. At one time, it meant using divine like means and powers to influence roleplay both in and out of character but to me personally, it's always meant the neglect of reason and the bending of the natural order in order to manipulate the roleplay scenario you are currently in. For example, Auto-dodging without even being aware or adequate reaction time and ignoring the actions of others towards you because you as a roleplayer refuse to say they have happened. These are both forms of God-Modding.

Repeat offenders will see punitive measures put in place.

3 ~ No Metaplaying
Metaplaying is the use of Out of Character or OOC knowledge and using it to influence in character roleplay. An example of this can be seen when two friends whom are rping against one and other discuss tactics and one of the said friends uses the the fact he knows what his other friend is up to despite the fact his character would have no means of knowing how or when the opponent was going to attack. This is Metaplaying.

Repeat offenders will see punitive measures put in place.

4 ~ Restrictions on Character Changes
Character changes happen almost all the time; whether they are small or large. Yet, there are stricter measures on large character changes. Changes such as new skills and new weapons must be approved by a moderator and once a character is approved, any changes made to that character must be approved once again.

Anyone caught not following the correct procedure will have their character removed from Roleplay until the issue is resolved and a moderator has approved the profile.

5 ~ Character Death
Character Death is a natural thing in the Roleplay. It's war. Total war. Sorta. So there is no need to ask to kill another character, however some would prefer if you did so keep that in mind.

You may argue the character's death if the circumstances are unfair/appear to be godmodding/out of character. (Example, if Joker goes out of his way to leave Gotham just to kill a random hero in another city.) If it's a fair death(Example: your character went up against someone out of their league and paid for it with their life), then unfortunately, that's it. There are means of resurrection but that must follow canon and make sense.

6 ~ No Post Editing
Post Editing, is not allowed to happen unless Moderator approved and non-combat related. It's a form of God Modding and carries the same punitive measures.

6 Amendment ~ Deleting Posts
To clarify an apparent loophole that appears in Rule Six about No Post Editing; which is the fact Deleting a Post counts as an edit because it changes what has happened within an RP by removing certain elements. Not only that but it is also poor RP etiquette to Delete Posts. So, this amendment clarifies that Deleting a Post is the same as Editing a Post in terms of severity and punishment.

7 ~ No Posts of Sexual Nature
I don't care what you're into. But not in the guild. You can RP romance, flirtation and relationships can be roleplayed out but if it escalates into a sexual situation and you really, really want to proceed into the scenario; please, dear God, take it to PMS. Neither, I nor the guild need to be exposed to that and it can get the guild into serious trouble.

Anyone caught partaking in such behaviour will automatically be banned.

8 ~ Work Stealing
Me and the Moderators put a lot of work into this guild and the roleplayers in here are also hard working and brilliant. However, there are the times where the work we slave over is stolen and used by others; if this is made apparent to the moderators and with adequate proof, we as a guild will take action.

Anyone caught doing this will be banned from the guild.

9 ~ General Respect, Politeness and Cooperation
I hope that we all can get along really well and help each other out. The only thing that I ask of you is a basic level of respect to both the Moderator team and the fellow members. We also ask you to be polite and cooperate with everyone in the guild.

10~ 72 Hours Rule
Social Interactions
During social interactions, if the character you're interacting with has not responded to your post after 72+ hours, you may post again leaving them. This rule is to keep members from being held back by others in role play.
•In order to use this rule, you must quote the person. If not, whatever you do will be invalid.

Battle Version
During battle, if the opponent has not responded to an attack after 72+ hours, the attacker may post again having all actions in their previous post follow through without interruption [This also means, if it wasn't intended to kill them, it won't unless it is capable of doing so]. This rule is to keep members from being held back by others in role play. (Don't engage in a battle you cannot see through to the end!)
○ If you wish to kill them, you must post and wait another 72 hours for it to go through.
•In order to use this rule, you must quote the person. If not, whatever you do will be invalid.
