"There is an art, or rather a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how To throw yourself at the ground and miss."_ Nallan Akira Korochi_ x-> Yawning and stretching his arms up, the boy's wings pushed out from under his jacket as he slipped it off and threw it over his bag in the sand. The sun shone over them, the light dancing over the natural- green feathers. His turquoise colored two-piece swim suit top similar to a girl's belly shirt. [for reference.. not colorXxX] The small white flower on the front hand-stitched in by a good friend of his back on the main land, in remembrance to the friendly nickname given to him; flower-child. His shorts were plain and his skin was gently fair. Although a light tan had touched across his skin already, as he preferred the outdoors where he could fly.
He stood with his hip to the side, his stance very girly as he pulled out his pony-tail and shook out his hair. Wrapping the scrunchy around his wrist so it wouldn't get lost as he looked out at the sea, wondering whether or not to fly out and leave his stuff to the sand and coming tide or stay and enjoy the surf.
He pushed back his bangs, tucking his hair behind his right ear as the wind took it away, he turned to watch the birds fly past. His own wings tucked back behind him, resting against his shoulders. He smiled, waving to them before his stomach growled, and he crouched down holding his middle. A frown on his face. If only he'd brought something other than lemonade with him..
Either way, he sat down, playing in the sand with his toes as he searched through the bag for his drink.

Huh? Oh, hi. I'm Rebecca Lawrence. That morning, Rebecca woke up earlier than usual. The main reason being the fact that today, she would be able to spend some time on the beach, and she wanted to do so before all the other students found themselves on the sand. She hated crowds more than most people she knew, even her brother, and thus she was determined to be one of the first to show up at the beach. However, the second she stepped onto the sand, her gaze moved along until spotting someone else. Well, at least it was only one. She could handle that. Sighing inwardly, she made to stay away, setting up her mat and umbrella several yards away. Her bathing suit was a pale purple, her favorite color, but she carried a towel around her shoulders that clashed horrifically in random stripes. Not that it mattered, since she had liitle notion of actually getting wet. No, she would stay here until her brother showed, then try and get away before he made her speak with others.

[ **thinks you switched Rebecca and her brother's photo's** ^=^] "There is an art, or rather a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how To throw yourself at the ground and miss."_ Nallan Akira Korochi_ x-> Finding only the bottom of his bag, and no refreshments, the Fallen flower-child began to crave watermelons and other thirst-quenching fruits he could think of.. his wings fluttering once or twice as he sat motionless, staring out at the sea morning his loss. How could it had slipped his check list not to bring food? but it didn't matter now. The boy stood up, looking around to find a solution to his problem, only to lay eyes on a quiet, shy-looking individual not some five yards away or so..
He smiled, casually jogging towards the long-haired figure. His wings flapping windless in the ocean air. His arm was out stretched to wave as he slowed down, "Hey! You wouldn't happen to have any food on you, no?" the disorganized-as-of-today fool asked, not at all embarrassed for asking out in the open like that. Especially with what he was wearing, any other male [ well.. most males ] wouldn't have been caught dead in a girl's swim suit.
Her hair was long, and he watched the sun and wind dance along it. His bright turquoise eyes looking to hers as he smiled warmly. The sea breeze blowing past them, ruffling his feathers.

Huh? Oh, hi. I'm Rebecca Lawrence. After she was comfortably set up and able to sprawl out on the beach mat, Rebecca's entire focus was spent on the waves. They way they clashed against sand and rocks, and the intruiging fact that it always moved back out, to return back to the sea. She smiled, thinking that perhaps from now on, she should meditate out here. It certaintly was calm enough. Maybe after, she could find some of those cute little shells her mother uses to make beads from. Or perhaps, she would be able to learn more about some of the aquatic animals she knew lived in the ocean. That would be wonderful, since her love of animals was as strong as her care for family. Sighing wistfully at her half-formed planned, she sat up a little, only to hear someone addressing her. Turning her head to look up, she was just able to keep from wincing. It wasn't as if she was afraid of anyone out here, on the school's island; it was just that they all thought so loudly, and she was worried that this person would be the same.
At least this one had a proper question, and she would never dream of purposely lying. "Uh, yeah." She sat up fully, moving her legs to fold at the knees and cross at the calfs, the position she usually took when meditating. Reaching for a bag that was inlined to keep items cool, she unzipped the top, eyeing the contents as she asked. "You didn't bring any?" Not that it mattered, though she was curious as to how someone could forget such a necessity when the day promised to be so hot. Looking up from her selection of sandwiches and drinks, (she'd brought some along for when her brother and his friend arrived,) she managed a weak, yet polite, smile.

[ - - -] "There is an art, or rather a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how To throw yourself at the ground and miss."_ Nallan Akira Korochi_ x-> Catching his eye was the girl's posture. A similar way to- The girl's brought his attention from his train of thought. His surf colored orbs moving over her arms and down to the container she had with her. Gazing curiously.. no.. more hungrily at the contents. But as she spoke up again, his stare went to the sea.
"You didn't bring any?"
".. Eh. Well." he said, ashamed to share his inability to be organized that day. He shifted his weight to one foot, scratching the side of his chin with his fore-finger. It had always been his strong point. Nothing was usually missed, and always checked three times during the day. "I'm usually very prepared.." Nallan said, empathizing usually. The fallen's thoughts turning to his day in fast-forward.
[**points back to his dorm at another bag hanging up near the door, exactly like the one he had.. inside his lunch is stashed** -.- *shakes head in disappointment* ]
His memories failing him as to where he could have lost them. They'd been in his bag the whole time after he packed them. His eyes turned down, tilting his head a bit to the side as he thought. He'd been flying most of the day, although he did stop once or twice.. but he didn't check to see if it was there, and never once opened or set it down anywhere for any reason. It hadn't been out of his sight at all. "I guess it happens to the best of us once in our life," he mumbled, sort of pouting as he rested his hands in his pockets and looking down, trying not to think about the fact his memories were always the ones to get him in the end. But his gaze quickly turned back to the girl, 'Sense we just met and all,' he thought, raising his hands as he leaned back a bit, his eyes sincere. The feathery lumps on his back spreading slightly and flapping windlessly. "But I don't want to impose." he said with a slight smile, his wings stopping as he glanced at the sea in his peripheral vision, "I guess I can wait until I get back [dorm]." he thought honestly. Knowing he had a small refrigerator of chilled peach cobbler, grapes, salad, and lemonade from the night before. He wanted to enjoy the sea today, not worry about health issues.

Huh? Oh, hi. I'm Rebecca Lawrence. Despite her initial wariness, she smiled faintly at the stranger's admittness of forgetting food. It wasn't such a terrible thing, and it wasn't as if she was starving at the moment. "It's alright. I have plenty." She managed a truer smile, trying to keep this girl...or boy?, at ease. At first, she'd simply assumed that this was a female, as the person was wearing a two-piece. Yet, there were threads of her ability that was picking up something else; she could always take a peek and check, but she was never one to pry with her abilities, nor would she question another's ideals. Shoving aside her curiousity on the matter, she simply motioned to a space beside her, where the mat would still protect one from the warm sand. "I'm Rebecca." she volunteered, her gaze going back to the bag in her lap as she evaluated the contents. Without any idea as to what her new companion would like, she chose to zip the top open completely. "Do you like watermelon?" she questioned, pulling out a small baggy of the fruit, chopped into squares and triangles. A plastic fork was dug up soon after, and she held out the items should they be taken.

[ **craving watermelon now** D: ] "There is an art, or rather a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how To throw yourself at the ground and miss."_ Nallan Akira Korochi_ x-> Curious of the girl's faint yet surely distinct difference in smiles, the transgender smiled back. Deciding not to question it, her body language was his next thought. She showed him the open space beside her, expressing in normal terms that he should sit down with her. A blanket separating them from the earth, not his usual turf. But he guessed it had it's ups and downs. For one there would be less chance of sand getting in the food, and less possibility of irritation to the skin and chafing to occur for someone with sensitive skin. The shade was nice too, he thought as he gingerly sat down. Pulling his legs under and over each other like a pretzel as she had, he thanked his blessing upon having the flexibility of a dancer. As his favorite pastime was such, besides flying that is. Otherwise it would be useless if he were unable to succeed in showing off. He locked his arms, holding his hands on his legs. Mentally kicking himself for that thought to even come to mind, his wings tucked close to his body to a point of almost disappearing. He'd been taught it wasn't okay to advertise or flaunt one's ability unless he was expressing himself truthfully. Even if he was proud it wasn't nice of him. But perhaps if he hadn't thought of it he wouldn't have been so hard on himself.. Wasn't it just casual? Either way, he would try to be less of a crow, he promised himself.
He smiled to her brightly, "Pleased to meet you're acquaintance. My name is Nallan." he said, reaching out a hand a little enthusiastically to shake, only to be filled with a baggy of one of his favorite fruits. The angel's eyes shone. "It's my favorite!" he said, thanking her by inclining his head quickly and carefully taking the fork from her. He opened the baggy and was quickly picking one out and putting it into his mouth without touching the fork. The sweet sensation filling his entire mouth and satisfying it. It was hard not to chew without swallowing first. His own world of pure bliss encircling him as he enjoyed the small bit. "This is some of the best watermelon I've tasted!" he said honestly, turning his eyes to Rebecca. Although it was just regular old watermelon to someone with "You should try some." he said, holding a newly forked piece for her. He smiled, having made sure not to let it touch his lips it was okay.. right? The fact they had just met and all not even coming to mind.

Huh? Oh, hi. I'm Rebecca Lawrence. Moving over just enough to give her guest some elbow room, she nodded to acknowledge his greeting. "It's nice to meet you." she told, surprised by the truth in the statement. He seemed nice enough, for all his opinion in clothing might be different from other boys. His acceptance of the fruit and announcement of his liking of it made her feel a bit better about her invitation. Perhaps it was his energy and excitement, making her feel more upbeat, but she was sure that her abilities were still under her control. Every thought was her own, so she was fairly certain that her emotions were her still her own as well. That made her feel even more proud, and she didn't worry nearly so much about being around a single person. Turning her attention back to the bag of food in her hands, she zipped up the top to preserve the coolness of the items inside. Hearing his exclamation at the quality of watermelon, she looked back toward Nallen, blinking for a moment in question. "Really?" When she'd bought the fruit the day before, she hadn't thought much of the comapny's sticker on it or the store she bought it from. She'd simply taken it home, then cut up half that morning for the beach. Seeing the offer, she smiled after a moment, then slowly took the plastic ware from his hand, making sure not to let any juice drip onto them or the mat. "Thanks." Popping the square into her mouth, she returned the fork to Nallan as she chewed the fruit. It was good, though she wasn't sure how to compare it to other watermelons, as it wasn't something she had regularly. Still, she swallowed, then said lightly, "It's really good. I guess I'm a better shopper than I thought."

[ - - - ] "There is an art, or rather a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how To throw yourself at the ground and miss."_ Nallan Akira Korochi_ x-> Smiling, the boy took back the fork, his little finger brushing up against her's unconsciously. Thinking nothing of it, he picked another slice and began the process of enjoyment all over again. His eyes straying to watch the waves roll in and out. It was comforting. The gulls overhead could be heard, along with several other species of bird he could probably pick out if he listened hard enough. He changed his seating arrangement, tucking his knees to his chest and wrapping his arms around them. Swallowing, he turned from his watching of the sea. Her comment of shopping catching his attention as he looked to her. "Thanks again, actually." he said, beaming, "You can shop for me anytime." he said before filling his mouth with another cube of watermelon.
His eyes had wandered back to the surf riding the waves. His mind wondering what to do after he was satisfied. He glanced to Rebecca, holding eye contact if he could. "Do you get out often?" he asked, putting another piece to his lips. Maybe she already had a job.. But it wasn't bad to ask, right? No.. he'd save that for later when he got to know her more.. It might get awkward fast if he just blurted it out and she wasn't interested. 'She looks like the kind that would look good in cosplay,' he thought, a little bit envious, and not in the least bit sexual. He decided to just leave it as a casual conversation starter, thinking about swimming when he finished. But then again flying didn't seem all that bad either.

Huh? Oh, hi. I'm Rebecca Lawrence. Nodding at his joke of shopping for him, she smiled. It was an amusing thought, but she kept that to herself. Instead, she answered his question, which made her worry that she'd acted rude to this person. The last time someone had asked her the same, she'd been told that she always appeared 'stand-offish', which she added to her list of lacking social behaviour. "Uh, I go out. Just not often with others. I really don't like crowds." Rebecca shrugged, though she didn't volunteer her reasons behind such. Setting the bag back to it's position to the spot behind and to the side of her, she turned back to face the ocean. It was still relaxing to watch the waves move, and she took comfort in the repetative motion. There was nothing that could bother the sea, nor make it do anything but what it pleased, and she liked that. It was...strong. Propping one elbow on her knee, she leaned forward slightly, breathing in the scent of salt and water. Today was almost perfect weather, even if it was on the hot side. The shade provided comfort, but she debated the idea of actually getting into the water. It would be cooling, and she hadn't gone swimming since last summer...
"What's cosplay?" she asked absently, only to realize then that she'd picked out a thought that wasn't her's. With only the boy near her, she was sure that the thought had belonged to him. The realization made her jerk back, and she looked to Nallan as she quickly apologized. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I really didn't mean to, you know, pry." By now her cheeks were a bright shade of red, though not from the sun's rays. She was embaressed, but the worst part was that she'd let her guard down, with only one person nearby. Letting out an exasperated breath, she pushed aside her hair, keeping it from her eyes as she stared back out onto the sand. Maybe flying would- "God, sorry, again." There was no way she could fly, but remembering the boy's wings let her know who could.

[ - - - ] "There is an art, or rather a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how To throw yourself at the ground and miss."_ Nallan Akira Korochi_ x-> Glancing back to the woman, he smiled. He understood that whole ordeal. He wouldn't go near a roomful of people when he was little.. or. did he? He put the bag of melon down in front of him along with the fork he was holding. The angel then scratched his temple, trying and failing to remember if it was truly that which he remembered. He leaned over, resting his chin up with his knuckles, propping his elbow on his knee for support as he stared blankly out at the waves. He hardly noticed he had nearly mimicked the girl exactly as she did the same. He took in the scent of the ocean. Maybe he should go swimming after all.. It looked so vast and wild as the winds and the waves moved as in an almost harmonious way.
"What's cosplay?"
That snapped him out of it. He sat up straight again, slowly as he turned to give eye contact as he explained. "Oh, It's kind of like dress-up for older kids and adults.. like at a Convention; you see people dress up as their favorite character. That's cosplay." he looked out at the sea again, resting his chin on the palm of his hand this time. Clearly oblivious as to the fact the girl had just read his thoughts. "I guess it's sort of like Halloween, only you can do it.. whenever.. you.. want." he said, cut off by Rebecca's quick assembly of thoughts and explanations of her own. Althought he continued speaking, getting slower and slower until he finished his train of thought. He stared at her a bit, closing his lips upon realizing his mouth was about to hang wide open in his focused, yet jumbled thoughts. The angel finally blinked, smiling as he looked down, letting out a questionable laugh before looking back up to her. His cheeks only showing a hint of red as he saw her's brighten as well. He tried to smile reassuringly to ease the tension that had been suddenly brought up. "No, that's. Quite alright. I mean I don't. Mind.. Umm." He looked down again, at the watermelon she had so generously let him have as he tried to piece together his thoughts again. He smiled slightly, then looked out at the sea. It was interesting that she knew what he was thinking. He wondered what it would be like, deciding he much rather fly. Perhaps swimming wasn't a good idea.. Maybe flying would be the better option. But suddenly Rebecca spoke up again. He just gave her a smile, waving her off casually. "No, no. It's fine." he told her, then suddenly got an idea. The breeze brushed his hair back, his feathered wings slightly shaking up and down in anticipation. "Would you like to go flying?" He asked kindly, smiling, "It's the least I could do to repay your kindness." he explained, the empty bag and fork proof of his words.
