Appearance: Her hair sometimes turns a light gold in the sun.
Perspective on Life: Out of most of her friends, Chiaki can be described as the most level-headed one and keeps her calm. More of a pacifist, it's hard to see Chiaki as the offensive sort, with the exception of when she's holding a bow and arrows. Chiaki's very friendly around everyone, and can literally laugh everything off as a joke. Rarely seen angry, Chikai has a warm and friendly personality and is a peacemaker that occurs between her friends. Despite her peaceful nature, she does not like to lose and feels guilty and regretful after losing. She's very loyal to her friends, and protects them at all costs. Somehow, she keeps her head during life-or-death struggles. In addition, Chiaki is a fast learner and understands a situation better than most people. Chiaki is also optimistic to the point of naïvetè. Just like the tranquil rain that washes everything away, it's often up to Chiaki to keep her head in an argument between friends and figure things out. It's rather hard to provoke Chiaki, and insults directed at her usually flies straight over her head, or through her. Chiaki values friends and family bonds above all, and she'll put her interests aside for them first. She has a very large imagination.
Journey so far: Chiaki was born into a normal family, but her mother died of an illness when she was very young. Stuck with an over-enthusiastic father, she was dragged from village to village, and eventually polished her sword-wielding skills with her father. Her father disappeared mysteriously, when she was still quite young, and so Chiaki's set out looking for him.
Possessions: She carries a bag with her, containing mostly apples and a penguin plushie inside. Chiaki carries a bow and quiver of arrows, the only inheritence from her father.

Appearance: His eyes are a light salmon - mix of pink and red.
Perspective on Life: Lawrence is a well-spoken, young master type, who was initially aloof until he was saddled with too many burdens. Lawrence gives higher priority to his hobbies rather than his work, and is more optimistic and quiet in comparison to the other scholars who are more serious and work-oriented. He's very organized and tidy, but he's not an extreme work-a-holic. Despite being musically talented, he has no sense of direction and frequently gets lost. Although he isn't much of a sociable person, he's friendly and well-mannered enough to get along with most people. Lawrence isn't exactly cold, but he doesn't exactly trust everyone either. He's rather calm and refined, and rather formal too. He's not the best person to tease, because Lawrence just doesn't fit the type. He won't get what you're trying to say anyways. He's elegant, and his words are fluent and eloquent. He can get flustered and confused too sometimes. If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful day, go and spend one with him. He hates people who blabber on and on. Lawrence is a peacemaker most of the time, acting as a third party in arguments (or fights). He's intelligent, and probably the most kind you'll find out of all the snobs higher up in court.
Journey so far: Lawrence grew up in a relatively well-off family, and he became apprenticed to a scholar. He loved books ever since he was young, and always studied and studied. Eventually, he grew tired of court life, and ran off to have an adventure of his own. Of course, he did not simply abandon his job - he asked for a pardon and whatnot, and his parents, although tearful, allowed the youth to go traveling around in unknown dangers.

Age: Twenty-two
Appearance: Niccolo always wears his fedora hat, no matter what season, and it usually slides forward slightly so that his eyes are always hidden in the shadows.
Perspective on Life: Niccolo is rather aloof, and even cold to you if he doesn't know you. He doesn't trust people easily, but if you do get his trust, then you'll know he's a great friend. Initially, Niccolo is rather distant and somewhat cold, but to close friends he may open up and laugh and smile. He can be sarcastic, blunt, and somewhat stubborn, but he also has his soft side as well. Niccolo's rather unwilling to ask for help from others, but he's still willing to step in when help really is needed. He's independent, and also reliable. That being said, Niccolo has high intuition, and is also rather smart. He is able to sense people's feelings at times, even what they are thinking. But mostly, he doesn't care. He's never really straight with anyone, especially when it comes down to relationships, even between friends. He is very loyal to people he cares about, and protect them to the best of his abilities. Despite his cold exterior, Niccolo is quite a gentleman...to the ladies, at least.
Journey so far: Not much is known about his childhood, but everyone that has met the cold man knows that Niccolo has no family to speak of, and that he's been trained in combat. Rumors are that he was a mercenary who quit his trade and decided to travel instead. Somewhere along the way, he found Kanon, and the two became companions over time.

Appearance: Kanon's hair is constantly tied up in pigtails, and her eyes are actually a deep sky blue.
Perspective on Life: For a light-hearted and carefree girl, Kanon can be awfully detached when it comes to heart-to-heart stuff. Although she is very friendly and cheerful, you have the feeling she isn't quite sincere in her speech and actions. Some may see her as a social butterfly, but in reality, Kanon is asocial. Rather than being antisocial and going out of her way to avoid crowds, she simply harbors no motivation to form personal relationships. Kanon hardly expresses her true feelings, and it's a question of whether she has the capability to have any emotions at all. She hates to be pitied by others, and often rejects people who offer sympathy. Kanon likes to stand alone and shoulder her own burdens, brushing everyone else aside. She hardly "crumbles" and breaks down in front of anyone, with the exceptiong of her companion. He's probably the only one she'd ever show her feelings to. Despite all that, Kanon enjoys being free and not being tied down. She frequently travels, since she has nothing to hold her down in the first place. A daredevil and troublesome girl, Kanon has no qualms about trying everything and anything out.
Journey so far: Kanon has had nothing but a tragic childhood. Her parents, both talented musicians, died when she was only one. Adopted by a kind old man who taught music, she was raised in his home until the age of seven. For reasons still unknown to her, the old man was taken away by soldiers, leaving little Kanon alone. Kicked out of the now empty house, Kanon wandered a long time around the village on her own. This time period of her life molded her into the girl she was now. She became a thief and street-rat, carrying around small silver knives for protection. Eventually, the village kicked her out and she was alone for a very long time. When she did meet Niccolo, Kanon became his companion, and the two have been traveling together ever since.
