This is the brook, a small trickle of water that serves as the boundary of StormClan and BreezeClan. Cats are NOT allowed to hunt here, since there's always the possibility of crossing the border! On the StormClan side, there are many bushes and possible hiding spots, but on the BreezeClan side there are only a few trees. Refresh your markers daily! The water in the brook has very few fish in it, and is very shallow. It serves as a good drinking spot, as the water is very fresh and crisp.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Mosspaw,xxxxShe-cat xxxxxxxxxx Medicine Cat Apprenticexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Breezeclanxxxx, If you can't feed a l o t of cats, then feed just o n e.───────────────────────────────────────────────── Mosspaw nodded at Galestar's words, her ears drawn back in slight embarrassment. Why hadn't she remembered before she left the camp? It would have saved her loads of embarrassment. When she turned into a full medicine cat, cats could say "There was a time when one of our medicine cat apprentices almost tried going to the Moonpool without actually knowing where it was." It would be embarrassing! Maybe she'd tell her future apprentice about it. Because any medicine cat of Breezeclan needed to know how honorable her mentor was and how he gave his life so she could continue being a medicine cat apprentice. Wolfspirit deserved to have his legacy live on. Even if he couldn't. The young apprentice shook her head and scrambled after Valiantstride. Remember the way. Remember the way. She kept repeating in her head, her green eyes shooting all around her as she tried to lock the scenery to memory.
The pair of Breezeclan cats padded over to the border where a white she-cat was waiting for them. That must be Moonblaze. The tuxedo she-cat thought to herself as they neared the Stormclan cat. Mosspaw flicked her tail in greeting and gave a small nod, but not saying anything. She wasn't sure what to say. "Hi." She hoped that would be good enough for now. Maybe Moonblaze would do the rest of the talking. ───────────────────────────────────────────────── D a r e to reach out y o u r paw into the d a r k n e s s, to pull a n o t h e r paw into the l i g h t. ooc;; bloop

LOCATION: BC side of brook COMPANY: Moonblaze, Mosspaw OOC: Sorry for the massive delay!
Valiantstride purred in amusement at the young apprentice’s antics. The young tuxedo she-cat eagerly dashed towards the border, but Valiantstride had no doubt that she had no idea where the Moonpool was. ”Calm down, Mosspaw...the border isn’t going anywhere.” He purred as he padded towards the brook, taking one long stride for every two of hers.
It was a good while before the two of them arrived at Breezeclan’s border with Stormclan. As expected, Moonblaze had already arrived and was sitting patiently, waiting for their arrival. Mosspaw seemed a bit nervous, as she flicked her tail and muttered a quiet “hi” unsurely. Time for Valiantstride to step in and do the introductions? Perhaps. ”Hello, beautiful.” He purred as his eyes narrowed into thin slits cheerfully, ”Mosspaw, this is Moonblaze. Moonblaze, Mosspaw. It’s a real pleasure to meet again so soon, Moonblaze.” He meowed as he nudged Mosspaw’s rump forwards with his nose, encouraging the apprentice forwards. His sprained paw was still held against his chest...hopefully it would heal in a few days, as he could hardly bear walking on three legs any longer.

Oh god you don't even know how much research I had to do in order to do this post xD Such is the life of a medicine cat~►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►►╔════════════════════════════╗ An ominous breeze swept through the disturbed riverside; surviving flora whispering crisp nothingness as the faint chirping of lively insects added to the melody of fragile sound. The moon beamed within the clear indigo skies, signaling moon high, in all its pristine glory; adding a sense of hope to the somewhat desolate area…no stranger to the destruction that took place not too long ago. Despite the peculiar peace and eerie atmosphere, a single white she-cat stood bravely by the river side, unmoving and unwavering as the famished shadows of the grove behind her had threatened to swallow the she-cat whole.
Within a shaft of frigid moonlight, Moonblaze pondered countless thoughts as luminous rays illuminated her sleek pelt, turning the fine snowy hairs into brilliant moon-kissed silver. One of her paws was absentmindedly pawing at a little bundle beside her. Moonblaze’s flawlessly poised stature had bent ever so slightly towards the trickling rivulet before her, seemingly in a trance as her crystal blue orbs glazed over as she gazed unseeingly at glimmering silver minnow which flitted past like silvery bullets.
"Hi."
Just like the dream…
Moonblaze blinked as a chill ran down her spine, gasping almost immediately in response…as if she’d been awakened from a dream. She regained her equanimity steadfastly, hoping no cat noticed, as she turned her attention towards the unnervingly familiar mew. It was soft and uneasy…yet Moonblaze identified the salutation by the courtesy of the wintry winds.
Mosspaw…
Noticing the small apprentice’s apprehension and uncertainty, the pallid she-cat smiled warmly, her expression radiating welcoming and cordial emotions as her plumy tail twitched in greeting. But, before the healer could break the silence left by the nervous novice, something…or, rather, someone had beaten her to it.
”Hello, beautiful.”
Recognizing the charming voice she had exchanged words with at near sunhigh, Moonblaze’s moonstone eyes rose to meet the alluring olive gaze of the BreezeClan deputy, Valiantstride.
”Hello to you as well, Valiantstride. I take it Galestar approves of my clan’s proposal…”
”Ah, yes, it all went smoothly. Of course, how could anyone refuse such a meaningful request from such a stunning and gentle medicine cat’s clan? Surely not my clan and myself!”
” That brings peace to my heart and you have my clan’s gratitude. Thank you, Valiantstride.”
An, oddly enough, pleasant burning sensation under Moonblaze’s fur was felt at the deputy’s compliments, an emotion equivalent to being flustered. Of course, the wise she-cat didn’t display the long-since felt passion...though…it wasn’t unwelcomed. It reminded her of…him…
Forcefully dismissing the dizzying thoughts of hidden emotion, she offered the tom a polite nod and a dazzling smile before Valiantstride continued, finding it essential to be the one to introduce the she-cats to one another. ”Mosspaw, this is Moonblaze. Moonblaze, Mosspaw. It’s a real pleasure to meet again so soon, Moonblaze.”
Poor Mosspaw seems to want everyone but her to do the talking…that’s alright. I know I was shy in meeting the other medicine cats when Starpelt first brought me to the Moonpool. She’s no different. It’s not everyday that you find yourself getting a new mentor…oh Wolfspirit…may StarClan watch over this apprentice…she’ll need it…
”The honor is mine, Valiantstride. For you’ve delivered yourself and this marvelous apprentice to me. You must’ve escorted Mosspaw here as Wol- anyways…” Sorrow momentarily flickered within the medicine cat’s gaze as she halted her voice from continuing any further. BreezeClan didn’t need a reminder of what they had unfortunately lost…nor did she. Though, Moonblaze found herself staring at the tiger-striped warrior for longer then needed, spacing out at the thought of the kind gray tom that used to be the clan of the moor’s faithful healer. Scolding herself in embarrassment, her eyes moved to the adolescent beside him.
You must’ve looked like a babbling fool in front of your temporary deputy Moonblaze! You don’t want BreezeClan thinking you’re incapable…especially Mosspaw here! Get a hold of yourself and remember what you’re here for…
Taking a much needed breath, the beautiful medicine cat studied the young badger colored she-cat before her after successfully retrieving her composure once again…which might’ve been taken as a sign of “sizing one up”. Of course, the medicine cat only meant well as a gentle and sympathetic shine had rested with her calming gaze.
”Greetings, young Mosspaw. It pleases me in the knowledge that you’ve both arrived here safely…especially in these…troubled times. As Valiantstride has kindly introduced, I am indeed Moonblaze, StormClan’s medicine cat. Pleased to make your acquaintance.” The medicine cat finished graciously, dipping her head respectfully as Mosspaw copied her, albeit as gracefully…it was a tad gauche but she managed. Such is the power of anxiety. Mosspaw muttered a bashful acknowledgement to Moonblaze’s words as she watched the elder medicine cat retrieve a single small green packet made from a beech leaf from the StormClan border and into her waiting maw before closing the awkward gap between them by making a nimble spring over the border to meet the BreezeClan cats. Placing the bundle before her dainty white paws, Moonblaze portrayed a humble and dignified voice as she meowed.
”From the compromise of the clans of storm and wind, and, I shall be your mentor until you are prepared to serve your clan as a full fledged medicine cat. With this duty, I am honored with the privilege to be the one to teach you the ways of the medicine cat and the sacred path of StarClan. I promise to do everything in my power to pass down my knowledge and skill to you, like Wolfspirit would’ve wanted...oh…I’m sorry…” The medicine cat’s voice trailed off as a pained expression crossed Mosspaw’s vibrant emeralds, dulling them considerably. Moonblaze had forgotten to safe-guard her words in that moment and failed to take heed of Mosspaw’s grieving heart…since…she had lost a mentor whom she had probably grown to love dearly. Compassionate and remorseful, Moonblaze tenderly rested her feathery white tail tip upon Mosspaw’s trembling shoulders, hoping to soothe the traumatized apprentice. Sighing, Moonblaze’s limpid blue gaze traveled up to Valiantstride for support as he moved to calm his clan mate. Suddenly, he hissed in pain, his front left paw jerking towards his chest on reflex.
Time stopped.
Alarmed; her duty to her clan only fueling this reaction, Moonblaze stepped towards Valiantstride with glowing orbs of concern as she studied him closely, the tiger-like deputy mumbling incoherent excuses under his tongue as the petite she-cat entered his personal bubble while eyeing his front left paw with narrowed and studious pools of ice-blue. Mosspaw’s stomach churned with unease and discontent at the unpleasant sight of Valiantstride’s suffering, guilt ruling her young heart as she stood, helplessly, beside him. Surely Moonblaze would censure her for her incompetence in aiding her own clanmate! Anxious, the apprentice looked down at her snowy paws as they kneaded the ground in a poor attempt to appease her nerves. Moonblaze, on the other paw (get it? Huehuehue), was nose to nose with the BreezeClan tom, frowning as said warrior grinned sheepishly and avoided any form of eye contact. Really, Moonblaze felt like the biggest mouse-brain of a medicine cat in the lake leaving the deputy’s apparent injury overlooked…and for such a long time as well. But, she also felt irritation prickle her pelt from Valiantstride’s stubborn refusal to ask Moonblaze for help. Well. No cat was perfect. Especially not herself. So, releasing a breath, Moonblaze sighed loudly.
”Alright. I know what we need to do…and I’ll need Mosspaw’s help in order to make this possible.”
Mosspaw’s head shot up at the sound of her name, eyes sparkling with eagerness and curiosity from Moonblaze’s announcement. The beautiful medicine cat made her way towards the plant life beside the brook, motioning for Mosspaw to follow with a flick of her tail. Obediently, the apprentice proceeded towards her. ”Now what…?” Mosspaw questioned involuntarily while Moonblaze seated the both of them alongside a large piece of flora that Mosspaw had seen, in numbers, around the riverside. The plant stood lazily with its lanky forearms voluminous with strange thorny seeds and serrated and narrow leaves. She turned to Mosspaw with a light-hearted smile that had calmed the apprentice’s nerves a bit.
”This border is one of the best areas to collect plentiful amounts of herbs for both of our clans. A few of these herbs are necessary in order to treat your deputy. For now, we will need the leaves of a plant known as stinging nettle. It looks like a spindly bush of spiny seeds, the very plant we’re next to. Stinging nettle is used in a couple different ways. One, is by feeding the seeds to cats in order to get them to vomit; working especially well with poisoned cats. The other, is by using the leaves and chewing them into a poultice that, when applied to a cat’s injury, will bring down swelling and inflamed joints, like Valiantstride’s paw. Please obtain a few of its leaves for me.”
Doing as she was told without question, Mosspaw tore a good number of leaves from the outstretched stems, wrinkling her nose as the taste reached her tongue. Ignoring her awkwardness, she placed them at Moonblaze’s paws and watched with glee as the medicine cat nodded contently. Moonblaze continued to ask BreezeClan’s medicine cat apprentice to fetch several herbs while explaining what each one was and what it was used for as she sat by a somewhat interested Valiantstride. It was a good learning experience for everyone, no matter the clan rank. By the time they finished the lecture and small trips around the bank, Mosspaw found herself observing a meager pile of daisy leaves, stinging nettle, feverfew, and catchweed. The apprentice felt her heart swell with pride as she was able to find every herb Moonblaze had mentioned very quickly…only directed a few times. StormClan’s medicine cat divided the catchweed and feverfew into their own piles before clumping the supply of daisy and nettle leaves with one another, combining them. Before the apprentice could speak, Moonblaze chuckled softly, an amused sparkle in her eyes while she answered Mosspaw’s unsaid questions. ”Now, we’ll make a poultice out of the stinging nettle and daisy leaves. I want you to put a pawful of the pile I’ve made into your mouth and chew them up until they’re mixed very nicely and then spat it onto your paw. Caution yourself not to swallow them as it won’t be very pleasant. You may get a bellyache and both of us don’t have time for it...make haste.” Mosspaw blinked cautiously, eyes flickering anxiously from the mound to the pretty healer before exhaling sharply and following Moonblaze’s instructions. She bit back a gagging sound as the pungent and sordid flavor entered her mouth, but the apprentice persevered with the goal of pleasing Moonblaze and ceasing her clanmate from his torment. Once that…grotesque…ordeal was over, Moonblaze helped Mosspaw plaster the newly made poultice around Valiantstride’s sprain as she fed the deputy the feverfew Mosspaw gathered. The kind-hearted medicine cat was sure to support and commend the apprentice often as well, knowing that this would only build her confidence as a future medicine cat of BreezeClan…which said clan was desperate for…

”And…there! Finished!”
”Well done Mosspaw! You’ve done everything exceptionally well! Especially for your first time!”
”Great job Mosspaw! My paw’s feeling better already!”
The black and white apprentice’s heart soared at the praise from the StormClan medicine cat and her own deputy. Not only had she served her clanmate and successfully listened and done everything Moonblaze had asked, but, she felt like a real medicine cat and not some helpless apprentice who could only shake her head powerlessly, unsure of what to do. The two she-cats joined in shared laughter as Valiantstride scrutinized his catchweed covered foreleg that had kept to its job of securing the fresh poultice to his healing paw with an odd expression. It appeared as anything but daunting…alas…its purpose was important, no matter how silly the bracelet of green fuzzy balls were.
After Valiantstride’s injuries were accounted for, Moonblaze opened one of the beech leaf packets she had brought and revealed its contents to Mosspaw. The apprentice stared with interest as Moonblaze named the contents, them being daisy, sorrel, chamomile, burnet, and a bit of heather nectar to sweeten the distasteful mixture; explaining what each herb was used for individually as well. Moonblaze explained that they were known as “Traveling Herbs” and that cats would use them for strength and to avoid feeling famished during trips such as this one. The medicine cat didn’t miss the nostalgic amusement that lit her expression as Mosspaw made a bit of a face from the devoured herbs.

”May StarClan light your path!”
”Get home safely Valiantstride! Moonblaze said to stay off your injured paw and to get a lot of rest! Remember that!”
”Alright, alright. StarClan knows what would happen if I didn’t listen to Moonblaze. Anyways, stay safe! Not that a graceful and striking she-cat like yourself will need it, Moonblaze. I know I’d drop dead in my tracks against your beauty~”
”…ehm…”
”…Goodbye Valiantstride.”
”Awww~ Don’t be like that deary…”
”Goodbye Valiantstride!”
After a flirtatious farewell from BreezeClan’s tiger striped deputy, Moonblaze and Mosspaw set off towards the Moonpool once more, glad they were incredibly close by. The ivory furred medicine cat found it hard to disregard the urge to help Valiantstride back one three legs…even after the tom defended himself time and time again with the fact that he made it here by himself safely and he could make the trip back as well. Are all BreezeClan cats like him? Moonblaze groaned mentally as the medicine cat duo neared their destination. While the trip was rather silent, it was evident that a new respect and bond of sorts began to blossom between the two cats.
A beginning to a beautiful mentorship.
”Once we get to the Moonpool, we will begin your induction into the ranks of the medicine cats, your meeting with StarClan, and their judgment of your worthiness as a potential medicine cat. Prepare yourself.”
Mosspaw nodded fiercely in response, eyes glinting with determination…though she couldn’t shake an unsettling feeling of…nerve-racking fear…that distressingly gripped her like icy claws at her throat.
What if StarClan rejects me? ╚════════════════════════════╝◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄❝Tʜᴇ MOON ᴡɪʟʟ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏs BLAZE ᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜ ᴛʜᴇ DARKNESS...❞

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Mosspaw,xxxxShe-cat xxxxxxxxxx Medicine Cat Apprenticexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Breezeclanxxxx, If you can't feed a l o t of cats, then feed just o n e.───────────────────────────────────────────────── Mosspaw shifted her paws shyly as Valiantstride introduced her to Moonblaze and vice versa. Though she hadn't expected herself to be nudged; so a small squeak of surprise left her mouth as she stumbled forwards. She nodded her head to nothing in particular and settled herself between the two older cats as she listened to the conversation move along. Really, she was fine with not saying much; she wouldn't really know what to say unless it was a response to a relatively easy question. So she was just fine with staying quiet.
When she finally brought her green eyes up, she was met with Moonblaze looking at her. Like, like she was trying to decide if she'd become a good medicine cat or something. It made Mosspaw more nervous that she already was and she dropped her gaze right back to her paws. Though it seemed that it was determined that she would be pulled into the conversation, because not too many moments later the Stormclan medicine cat was addressing her.
"Hi Moonblaze." She meowed softly after Moonblaze's greetings, dipping her own head as well. At least this greeting was longer, right? Only by one word, but it was still longer. Curious eyes followed the pretty white she-cat as she padded away for a moment only to return with a bundle. What's in the bundle? She wondered as she stared at the bundle curiously before dragging her gaze back up to Moonblaze as the she-cat began to speak.
"Like Wolfspirit would've wanted..." The green eyes that had been looked at Moonblaze curiously, dropped right back down to look at her own paws at the last words that left her mouth. Wolfspirit. If it hadn't been for her, then he would still be alive and Breezeclan would still have a medicine cat and they wouldn't be needing to ask another clan to borrow their medicine cat. A small, pained mew left her mouth that she'd desperately tried to hold back as she remembered her old mentor. Mosspaw felt a tail on her shoulders but didn't so much as acknowledge it. She did however, pull her gaze from her paw when she heard her deputy hiss. Was he angry with her?
Mosspaw hovered anxiously around Valiantstride for a moment before coming to a stop beside him, watching as Moonblaze eyed his paw. The moment her name was tossed into the air, Mosspaw jumped up and scampered to aid Moonblaze. Doing as she was directed to the best of her ability and listening with the ear she'd always given Wolfspirit; even when she'd been a kit visiting the medicine cat's den out of curiosity.
The herbs tasted weird, no doubt; but it was fascinating how the right combination could either build up or tear down a cat. She just announced her finished job and looked to Moonblaze for approval. Which was granted and Mosspaw beamed. She'd done it right! Her ears perked up happily for the first time since Wolfspirit's death at both Moonblaze's and Valiantstride's praises.
As they were saying their goodbyes, Mosspaw couldn't help but huff impatiently as Valiantstride prolonged their parting with his long goodbye speech. It wasn't that she was annoyed with him, she just really wanted to get to the Moonpool so she could see if Starclan found her fit to carry on Wolfspirit's legacy as a medicine cat. Shaking her head, she rose to her paws when they were finally padding along to the Moonpool. She bounded beside the pretty white she-cat, trying her best to match the pawsteps. Glancing sideways at Moonblaze, Mosspaw beamed. She was eager to see if Starclan found her fit to be a medicine cat apprentice. Though it was a curious thought, what would happen if Starclan found her unfit? Who would become Breezeclan's medicine cat then?
Shaking her head fiercely, she harshly tried to push the thoughts from her mind. Those kinds of thoughts never helped anyone. And the most definitely were not going to help her, especially in her given circumstance. Just shut your mind up. Don't think and follow Moonblaze to the Moonpool. She was telling herself silently. ───────────────────────────────────────────────── D a r e to reach out y o u r paw into the d a r k n e s s, to pull a n o t h e r paw into the l i g h t. ooc;; well you left us a monster of a post to read c: but that's okay. I enjoy reading Moony's thoughts. (:
