Appearance: Kasai is both thin of face and body but not gaunt. In fact, her grandfather made a running joke of her appearance. He was of the mind that she had been grabbed at both ends and stretched like noodles. Her eyes had always been rather narrowed but not unpleasantly so and not enough to affect her vision. Her face is very feminine but seems to become masculine when she wears her mask. Kasai’s canines are somewhat longer than average which can make her smiles appear vicious. Typical with her build, Kasai has average-sized breasts. Her arms are toned with long lean muscles. Veins pop from her forearms and her legs are elegantly formed and often spark envy in other women, including a few models. She has almost nothing for a rear end, and so has to hike her pants up to her hips, even after tying them tightly. Kasai's hands are large and calloused and she has freckles across straight shoulders and high cheekbones. Her skin is a deep, ruddy tan, like one whom spends a great deal of time in the sun or in direct heat. This effect was achieved from spending hours before her forge.
Her eyes are very dark brown when sealed, with amber and mocha overtones and darken progressively toward the edge. There are golden flecks which catch the light to make her eyes seem as if they hold the very element she commands. Her hair is about waist-length and a very bright red-like an acrylic. It resembles blood or red paint and is entirely natural. Her hair actually seems to grow at rapid rates, and only stops growing once it reaches to the floor. Every week Kasai must cut her hair by reaching behind her back and hacking it off with scissors. Then she waits a week and cuts the newly grown meter off. Once cut, the separated hanks of hair will sear and burn in a matter of seconds, thus she needn't worry about stray hair getting all over her things or finding a nearby wig maker to anonymously donate to. She typically keeps it in a loose braid over one shoulder half the time, and in a simple but high ponytail the rest of the time, particularly when entering combat(provided, of course, that she doesn't just cut it all off right before).
Markings: It seems Kasai's hands are calloused and worn, scarred from battle and the trials of life. She has a number of scars across her torso and upper arms and legs. None of these scars have resulted from fire, however. She also possesses a number of tattoos, including the kanji for fire, 火, directly center on her chest just below her collarbone in bold black ink. Behind each ear are tattoos of twin oriental dragons, one blue and one gold which start their at the tip of their tails, flow down her neck, shoulders, and back to the base of her spine. There they cross eachother-gold dominant-before flowing around to her torso across her hips, crossing again-blue dominant-just below her belly button. They then flow up her torso, arching outwards and then drawing close to one another when following the inner curves of her breasts before parting ways to spiral down her arms and end o the backs of her hands. The blue appears to have solid gold eyes and vice versa for the gold. Black lines run down the tops of her fingers and toes and curl to form four fifths of a circle at the first knuckle of each finger and all the way to the base of her ankles. Usually the circles have a small opening to the inside of her body. This does not disclude thumbs and big toes.
Wardrobe: Kasai’s typical wardrobe is of a short white summer kimono hanging wide open across the chest and tucked into a primarily black hakama which rests high on her hips. Her hakama is designed with a red stripe running down the outside of each leg from her hips and is made of a shimmery material which shines and reflects with blue overtones. Following the hems of each leg are chains of dyed white irises, with vertically slitted pupils which match the surrounding material. Kasai also sometimes wears a chest plate in the traditional style of an ancient samurai which is made from polished bronze wrapped in dark leather and which is formed to her bust and snugly fit. She is always seen wearing a dark green cloth mask over her nose and mouth which is treated to keep gases and contaminants such as smoke out while in human form. Across the front of the mask is an oriental-style depiction of a mouth with sharp teeth, much like an oni's. She wears three-inch-tall geta without tabi.
Accessories:
- Piercings: All of Kasai's piercings are exclusively located on her ears. She has a total of ten with five in each, two in the lobes and three in the cartilage. They are all rings and made of silver.
Backpack: It seems for the most part that Kasai lives out of a small backpack which is solid orange and only has one pocket. It looks like the sort of thing a student might use, particularly one with a rather relaxed approach to education. Typically within are a handful of things: the occasional spiral-bound notebook, sometimes a textbook or two, although it is usually filled with snacks-predominantly her favored kind of sucking candy.
Bracelet: It appears that centuries ago, Kasai came across an agate stone on a gold chain, just large enough to be a bracelet. It was rumored to be some form of holy artifact and kept in a mountain shrine near her formal stomping grounds. At the time, Kasai was on what she called a "mineral run" to buy and steal as much jewelry as she could in order to smelt down and reforge in the volcano she called her home. This bracelet, however, was very beautiful and she decided to try it on. It really did have unique properties for it activated thanks to her overwhelming power and combined with her life force, refusing to come off her wrist. At the time of activation, it also sent her to a strange pocket dimension which was dominated by another mountain with a stream running down one side and a young, airy deciduous forest running up its slopes. Kasai soon mastered the technique for jumping between the living world and the pocket world and over time built a forge on the mountain. She eventually added a home dug out of the side of the mountain and dug and fireblasted a secret stash for her riches. It seems that Kasai can take anyone or thing her skin is touching along with its contents however she projects any more than a dozen people or a ton of material would kill her. The technique requires a huge deal of concentration, thus making it impossible during battle. She also appears in the same spot as she last left in both worlds and cannot travel to any other worlds.
Psychological
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Overview: Kasai is wild, she's hard to put to measure and her behavior is eratic. Most people find her to be slightly...off, but they can't be certain why or how. She runs hot often, but also cold with rapid and unfathomable mood swings. Commonly she behaves like fire-high maintenance when starting out and impossible to stop once she is in her stride. She has a singular focus in almost everything that she does, and is obscenely stubborn.
Kasai is quite proud and tends to wear that pride like a skin. She strives for excellence in her work, even when at the human school she attends to relieve boredom. When other people initiate conversation with her, she is a brick wall, silent and unyielding, however when she initiates it, she is confident and outgoing and coolly comfortable in her own skin. She is unexpectedly receptive and accepting of humans, even going so far as being somewhat popular among the students of her school, even despite being a traditionally anti-humanitarian species and generally not talking to others unless obligated.
It seems Kasai is mostly withdrawn and quiet due to unfamiliarity with humankind and their ways. Up until this point in her life she has viewed them as typically fragile, weak, pitiable in every aspect and had tendencies to simply ignore them. Following her first period of time spent among them, she grew to find them vaguely amusing, and eventually even went so far as to develop a slight proprietary sense of protectiveness for select groups of them. She is most open around other spiritual beings, showing open hostility, vaunted confidence, and various displays of attitude and challenge. She seems simultaneously chipper and lifelike and dark and resigned. Most view her as being highly bipolar.
Values: Kasai has peculiar values. She seems to be morally bankrupt and mostly driven by materialistic desires. She has yet to show overt loyalty to her own kind or major groups, but instead with individuals whom usually meet her fancy or curiosity. Her only real honor may very well be in her general reluctance to break pacts, though she has in the past. It is usually quite hard to make these pacts as it is, and Kasai will rarely invest in such pacts unless the other party is truly without alternatives. She feels the pressures of being someone's only hope for aid to be pleasant, like playing god. If Kasai comes across information which leads her to believe that the other party has betrayed her or her interests, she will abandon her pact and even smite them herself. She seems to impune racial classifications and kills pretty indiscriminately.
More than anything, Kasai values her own life and seeks to live it looking for petty distractions and fast friends through the interminable mire of tradeable people. Kasai also seems to have a "thing" for jewelry and naturally occurring metals and jewels.
Intellect: Kasai is relatively intelligent but focuses on specific subjects-smithing and the earth's treasures, weapons and battle, literature (oddly enough), and her studies. She was born with enough innate knowledge and lived long enough that she sails through her classes. Math seems to be her best subject. She suppresses herself too well in P.E. to tip people off, even though she took on the roll of Captain of the Kendo Club easily.
Habits: Kasai has a favorite sucking candy that she stockpiles and can constantly be seen going to town on. It is called a hoarhound and has a very strong and acrid taste and smell. It's made from tree sap, primarily and remains rock-hard. Because of how powerfully flavorful it is, she salivates and needs to spit often. She'll do this in front of anyone, even going so far as to occasionally use others' cupped hands exclusively to their disgust. If she is particularly agitated, such as when she's in a fight, she'll consume more candies and simply chomp right through them and grind them up behind tightly closed lips. In most cases, when lying, she touches her nose. She has a nasty habit of snacking and doodling or writing in class, which fascinates and confuses her classmates who can't understand how she isn't failing. She also tends to fidget with her hair and earrings when listening to lectures or watching movies. Her most abhorrent habit is that she chews on her fingers in general.
Fighting Style:
Preferences: Kasai likes spicy foods and salty snacks. She has a love for cooked and raw fish, but only consumes the latter from the appropriate dispensaries. She easily prefers warm climates and likes to participate in sports and exercise. Kasai goes out of her way to make sure she has active mornings by jogging to locations to do her chores or completes her chores in a vigorous manner. She likes cats as compared to dogs, and hates eating really sweet foods. Kasai likes extra wasabi and soy on her food. She prefers oriental cuisine to any others and regularly chomps on a locally grown breed of incredibly spicy peppers. She seems to shy away from technology in general, and likes to eat alone in the heat of the day but will politely accept company.
Insecurities: Insecurities? Hah! You have got to be kidding me! Kasai doesn't have insecurities, she just loathes being cold.
Hobbies: Kasai takes an avid interest in swordsmanship and practicing it, to the point of being able to use a huge variety of handheld blades with reasonable skill. She is also a master of pike-wielding and armed combat with bladed staves and likes to focus on it. She is skilled enough with a katana to have become the Kendo Club's Captain after challenging her predecessor the year prior. Kasai reads like a fiend which is unexpected for someone who has to concentrate in order to not burn a book up with her finger tips. She is a blacksmith and silversmith by trade, though prefers precious materials. She is good enough with her skill that she runs a small, private business selling replica weaponry and armor to random geeks with fat wallets around the world. Her business is through a P.O. Box, and mostly by recommendation, though she'll attend a handful of conventions and sell her wares under assumed names. One of her other hobbies is fishing which is handy when she feels tired of store-bought food or is low on cash. She likes to perch on a massive boulder at the base of a waterfall farther up the mountain and laze the day away and has spent many a summer doing just that. Sometimes on these ventures she would bring along pencils and a drawing pad and sketch what her powerful eyes saw.
Theme(s):
Relationships
Family: Kasai doesn't really technically have a family. She was sort of tossed together and that's how she came to be, like any other elemental. Over the long years, she has come to tolerate humans, even to the point of loving a very select few and adopting them into her family. So far there are three such individuals, all of whom are long since dead.

Biography
Kasai was born in a far-flung time from roiling masses of energy and unreasoning hate. She rampaged blindly and apart from herself as she had yet to form in the fitful mind of the monster she was. When she came forth, she did so dumb and feral, and had to slowly unlock her own humanity. It came in the way of rationality and the ability to vocalize it so that the shameful two-legs might understand. Soon it became that she resembled them in body and somewhat in countenance. Panicked, Kasai rejected this prospect, not understanding the true implications of such a change. She was functioning without a guide and so fled like any reasonably terrified sprit might. Kasai made her place under the epidermis of the world she loved, and meditated on her plight, focusing to such an absurd degree that she retreated into the most personal and vast part of herself-the flames of the world at large. She lived and observed these two-leggers from the heartiest bonfire to the smallest of candles. Through her observation she became familiar then apathetic to them. This change of character, from revulsion and loathing to simple neglect bore her over into true maturity as a full-fledged Elemental and formed a slight split from her ad her element, marking her as an individual and yet a part of the whole. This disturbance caused the fires to stoke themselves and bear forth the great halberd of her sealing. Kasai chose to support an isolationist existance away from the consolidated mire of humanity. Over the years she would stoke the volcanic flames of her home to the southwest to fire off warning shots when humans overstepped and abused the earth or simply came uncomfortably close. She seemed to come to terms with her own creation quickly, however, and took to walking amongst them while masquerading as their own, always sporting her halberd. Kasai developed an innate instinct for her next course of action and so came to understand the nature of her seal and so used it. Eventually the name by which she truly goes was given and she took to it.
