Just recently I was told via insult that Gaia was a site for children. I thought that was funny because I always thought it was teen-oriented. I mean, most "kid" sites I've seen don't have all these personal editing options, or even individual accounts. They focus more on playing games than developing a secondary personality online. Last I checked Disney Channel's website didn't require a login.
Plus, anime and manga always seemed to be for an older crowd. And if you read the announcements, it doesn't seem to be something aimed at kids.
What do you think? (It would be great if you could include your age, even if you include it in a vague way: child(10 or younger), preteen(11-12), early teens(13-15), late teens(16-19), early 20s(20-24), late 20s(25-29), etc.)

Haha, A website aimed at Children!? Have you seen some of the items here!? Like OMG Children shouldnt even see it xD Maybe from Preteen upwards but children? That just made me Laugh!

I'd be shocked if this place was made for children and to be honest if it was made for only children then i'd be seriously worried about my gaia dad (TheLoneWolfJedi) since he is like 30 xD

Loydem late teen 17, well 16, but soon will be 17 in August!!! LMFAO!!! That is so hilarious and so true!!! And yeah I'm pretty positive that this site isn't directed for children... I mean if it was then they would most likely say close to no cursing, but you see a bit of it in the Chatterbox. Then like you guys say, the items... also I don't think kids are mentally capable to role play and if they can they have to be either extremely smart and extremely mature or they'll take it too far I would think. -Shrugs- But what do I know? XD

I'm 18, by the way.
I can think of a LOT of inappropriate items on here. I own a couple, including an Alruna's Rose. There's also one with chest and crotch censorship bars. There are all sorts of bras, there's a skin from one item that turns female avis into succubi.
Erm, Loyd, great point, but not every Gaian RPs...

Personally I think it's 'aimed' at teenagers and up (at least preteens, not children though). Gaia's been around a long time and changed over those years as well. I believe the people running it must have realized at some point the player base would get older and have done what they can to adjust it in whatever ways possible to appeal to an older crowd as well. Just my opinion on it. *shrug*

I started on gaia when I was maybe 13 I think, I'm pretty much a fossil by gaia standards, and it's always been for teens and young adults, not so much for the content but for the freedom given to users in terms of what they speak of and how grafically they post on the forums or guilds...

18 here, and I always figured Gaia was for all ages, like facebook or twitter... well, all ages capable of using computers anyways
