As you may or may not know, Iclea town is well-known for the profusion of talented authors and poets that reside there. In honor of their presence, a competition is held every month for budding writers to demonstrate their talents and to compete for valuable prizes - including rare Pokemon and powerful items, such as the coveted Master Ball.

This contest will begin four days after the original post's date and will run for fourteen days. During that time period, contestants will need to write a Pokemon-related fanfiction no more than 5000 words in length (I need to be able to read and judge them!). All submitted entries must be in by midnight on the last day (that's using Pacific Daylight Time). The winner will be selected the following day and will have their choice of prize - a super rare or starter Pokemon of their choice (excludes Legendaries), or a Master Ball. The prizes will be given to your RP character upon their next visit to Iclea Town.

RULES:

1. This contest is open to everyone who has a trainer character, which includes Gym Leader, Elite 4 and Team Celestia characters as well. Crew members may participate as well, if they so choose. I will be judging impartially - that is to say, friends get no extra points with me. Collaborations are not currently allowed, but they may be available in the future.

2. The fic MUST be Pokemon-related - we ARE a Pokemon guild, after all. Crossovers will not be allowed at this time. You may use any original characters of yours and any canon characters from the anime, games, or manga. If you wish to use someone else's original character, you must ASK them first - should I receive any complaints from the character's owner, your entry will be disqualified. For the purposes of this contest, Legendary Pokemon are all available for us - no one may claim them as OCs.

3. All entries must be posted to the thread that will be made during the final week of the contest. Entries are to be graded based on content, but grammar and punctuation WILL be factors as well. If u type liek dis, your entry will not have a very high chance of winning.

4. Your entry must be original and cannot be posted elsewhere on the Internet - I will be checking. Breaking this rule will result in a disqualification of your entry and a three-day temporary ban from the guild for plagiarism.

To clarify - this doesn't have to be something your character would write - it just has to be a Pokemon fanfic. Your character is assumed to have written something good enough to win the prize in the actual RP.

I'm still not really sure what a good length would be, so I chose an arbitrary number. If you guys all start writing and find that 3k is way too short, I can extend the length. I just don't want to make it however long you wish and end up reading a novel at the end xD
