I know this one lady who's a really over the top right-wing fanatic who's always trying to make me feel bad about being a liberal & is always coming up with reasons why I can't be a Liberal AND a Christian... It's SO annoying! Do any of you know anyone like her?
I wanna know, why do people think that a person can't support Liberal values & Christian ones at the same time? It's not like it's having two religions at once.. I don't worship the politicians or the US government.. but I have reasons to support them on things I stand for!
I love God & believe that He's in all things. I embrace His message & love & I pray to Him & He answers my prayers & He speaks to me. I know that God is there & that He created all the wondrously amazing things of this earth that are so complex only He could have made them & I give glory to God for all things good...
However, I also support Barack Obama. I support him because he's for all people, not just the rich. I want Barack Obama to stay president because I want my kids to have the same benefits and services I grew up with. I want everyone to have healthcare regardless of pre-existing conditions & the American dream if being able to make something of yourself & have something in life & have money when they retire, to stay alive!
I know that Obama supports a few controversial things like abortion & gay marriage... but the other party supports something I consider to be far more controversial... taking away healthcare, medicare, social security, and whatever other government services they can siphon money away from to uphold tax-breaks for the top 1% wealthiest people.. as if those tax-breaks were gods themselves and all the poor people were lambs to be sacrificed so that the rich people's money gods could be appeased.
I mean hey, so I care about healthcare & welfare for the poor, so I care about the young, the old, & the sick! Why wouldn't God want me to? So I'm willing to look the other way on a few issues for the entire countries benefit & survival! Why should 2 religious issue make or break an important decision of who to run the country, made during America's 2nd Great Depression, when we need to focus on creating jobs & helping poor people survive until the economy heats back up?
Does anyone here think this makes me a bad Christian? If they do I don't even care... cuz I can't throw away my faith or my political beliefs, cuz they're both as much a part of me as my arms & legs! What I believe makes me who I am. God has always been there for me & so has the government that Obama supports that the Republicans want to take away! I can't turn my back on my God our my country & it's government when both have been so kind to me & my friends & family & I feel we need them both! If I did I'd just feel torn in half!

I am from New Zealand, I do not really know much about the politics of the US... though I gotta say, if gotta be Religious to be a Republican, and a Atheist to support Liberals? Sounds retarded to me...

I am from New Zealand, I do not really know much about the politics of the US... though I gotta say, if gotta be Religious to be a Republican, and a Atheist to support Liberals? Sounds retarded to me... Your tellin' me. I think it's retarded too... it's not even a law or anything.. it's just something decided by idiots as an unwritten rule enforced by the closed-minded threw taunting & shaming.

Others only matter if they have some legit challenge really... If you want to be a Christian and support that party, instead of the one you are "supposed" too, then go for it. If you feel God is directing you that way, do it.

Others only matter if they have some legit challenge really... If you want to be a Christian and support that party, instead of the one you are "supposed" too, then go for it. If you feel God is directing you that way, do it. I feel that it's right to do what feels right to me. It feel right for me to believe in God because He's always answered my prayers & been there for me when I needed Him most, & it feels wrong to side with the Republicans... because I feel like the Republican party in the USA has become corrupted with greed, stopped caring about America, and turned their back on everything & everyone's needs. I feel like being a Liberal is the right thing for me to do & what bad comes out of it (from things like abortion) is forgivable in the eyes of God as long as more good then bad comes out of it & those who allowed it did not become part of it themselves & tried sway others away from it by personally speaking out about the bad while supporting the good.

I don't believe homosexuality is a sin and I don't believe a fetus is a person until after the first trimester. I really feel this issues are distractions being created to keep people from seeing the bigger problems and forget about the main tenants, taking care of the poor and the helpless, and having trust and confidence in the Christ and the Spirit of Truth.

Wait... So you do not believe a child has a soul until after the first trimester? Though I suppose once we take our first breath of air from the womb... it's like Adam doing so when life was breathed into him...
