The following humans are under the command of Schwarz: Played by Mystaira: Lucius Robles - This serious guy has almond-shaped eyes the color of pine needles. His luxurious, straight, very short hair is the color of the midnight sky, and is worn in a dignified, simple style. He is very tall and has a graceful build. His skin is light-colored. He has a wide chin. His wardrobe is strange and unconventional, with a completely blue color scheme. Played by thyPOPE: Claire Traci Savage - This lady puts you in mind of a mysterious shadow. She has deep-set yellow eyes that are like two sunflowers. Her thick, curly, apple-green hair is worn in a style that reminds you of a complex device. She is very short and has a curvy build. Her skin is ruddy. She has small feet. Her wardrobe is odd.Played by TanuKyle: Tasha Mathews - This woman puts you in mind of a looming thundercloud. She has slanted blue eyes that are like two turquoises. Her silky, curly, white hair is worn in a style that reminds you of a flower's petals. She is very short and has an athletic build. "Have a nice trip!"
The AI's last words echo in the air as the leader's communicator crackles, then dies. The airbus overhead turns and zips away with a faintly lasting whirr, disappearing quickly over the mass of trees now that its cargo is deposited. The group is left standing at the base of a tall metal beacon; it stretches upward into the air, reaching over the trees to transmit data back to the central Labs. All around, alien trees twist and stretch toward the sky, their curling branches and frond-like leaves soaking in the planet's pure sunlight.
It is a small clearing, big enough to hold the crew and the beacon, but the wildlife is already encroaching upon it eagerly. Vines can be seen trying to creep over the pole's base, and the rough-hacked path leading back to the Labs is already overgrown. It is easy for the explorers to see why airlifting to these outward spots was a better idea than trying to hack through the woods.
The communicator crackles to life again, and CaTDOS's voice splits the air, his words stringing together in a sing-song manner.
"Alright, adventurers~ It's time to begin~ Everyone, remember to keep your data transmitters active at all time~ It will constantly analyze and stream information back to us, so make sure you don't lose it, no matter what~" A face flickers onto the communicator's screen, a very distinct, pixelated '+ w+' expression. "Take a moment to introduce yourselves, but then please begin~ You are to enter the jungle away from the previously cut path~ Your goal is to find anything of interest that you can, particularly new species~ Please remember, be very careful~ Who knows what's lurking out there~? CaTDOS out~!"

Schwarz snapped his jaws, and claws, as he peered about at the group of people he'd been assigned to lead. What an exciting prospect, leading. He couldn't help but feel a bit over encumbered, being a stealthy and somewhat solitary creature himself, but he supposed that he oughtn't turn down such an important opportunity. The doctor was counting on them all, wasn't he? Plus, who could turn down the chance to actually get out of that stuffy place for once? Here they had a whole freaky jungle to pick through, lots of trees to climb...yeah, this was gonna be fun.
He kicked for a moment at a vine that had decided to slither up against his foot, and his tail lashed as CaTDOS finished its little spiel. Looking to his team, he studied each for a moment, gazing steadily with all four of his eyes. It was interesting to see new ones, sort of. Being at the lab, you got used to the ones who were already around. He sniffled, and his claws clicked softly, seeming to have minds of their own. "Alright, hello! Welcome to the jungle, I'm sure it's going to have fun and games. My name is Schwarz and I'll be your guide into this mysterious unknown..." he crossed the lower set of his arms and held up his own communicator.
"As you all heard, you are not to lose these. Losing these constitutes a pinch. I've also decided that it will be in your best interests to pair off. We will be attempting to stay together as a group, but in the instance of separation, it will be best to have a buddy system in place." he grinned slyly. "That way you can save each other from being eaten if something bad happens. Take a moment to introduce yourselves and pair off, and we'll get this party started!" He set his hands on his hips, looking to the human nearest to him, fully intending to learn each one's name. He didn't really give much of a crap about any of them, but he supposed that it would be a good idea to at least try to be a good leader.

Lucius stood very straight in his completely blue multilayer outfit that looked completely out of place with the jungle. He had declined to wear any read as that would clash with the rest of his clothing. Atop his head was a bowl-cut of black hair. His family had declared this his coming of age test, come back with interesting finds and become a man! This was very important to him, so he planned to do his very best to succeed or he'd never live down the humiliation of returning empty handed... If he even returned at all that is...
He eyed Schwarz with a completely blank face. What... IS their leader... exactly...? He'd never seen a being like him with so many arms and eyes before. Not to mention the claws. Changing his expression to a serious frown, he declared. "I am Lucius Robles, heir to the Robles financial empire. I don't really see the need of a buddy system..." His family might not see him as a man if he couldn't do it on his own, even if he was part of a larger group. "But I suppose if that's what our guide wishes..." He glanced at the others wondering who he should pair with.

The next member of the group moved with a reserved energy - she was no-nonsense, with a deep-set gaze that seemed to push everyone else out. Claire Savage had pulled her hair up today: it was pretty and curly, but really all she'd done was attach a butterfly clip.
The interesting part about her was not her face or her body - she had an ordinary face, and an ordinary body (short, curvy). It was her wardrobe. She was dressed in a red wetsuit with a long black overcoat: it seemed as though she had not gotten the memo about the heat. She didn't seem bothered by it, though, preferring merely to level a glare at her fellow expeditioners. "I'm Agent Savage," she told them, and it looked as though that was all she'd say.
After a pause, though, she turned back to Schwarz. "Are you pairing off, too?" Her tone was clipped; she seemed like a woman who chose to use exactly as much energy as she needed.

"Awwww, Agent Savage!" The epithet was almost affectionate as one Tasha Matthews flung her arms round the other redshirt. You know. If you were socially mutilated and couldn't read the smirk on her features as the taunt it was. Honestly she wouldn't be surprised if Savage didn't remember her; she'd not been a particularly high-stationing agent and the only thing she'd really been good at before switching to a less serious role were pranks.
"Babe, it's been too long!"
Tash didn't even particularly like Savage - the only thing she remembered was swapping her shampoo for hair dye which had (hilariously) turned it varying shades of brown, red and yellow ontop of the existing green and making her look like a badly-ripened apple.
"I'm Tash by the way~"
She flashed a flirtatious, general grin at the rest of the group.

With the much to-do introductions out of the way, the group slowly began their trek away from the tower and into the dense forest, the few looking back perhaps noting how much darker, and perhaps eerier, it seemed as the undergrowth thickened and the towering fauna becoming more canopy and less welcoming shade.
Perhaps it was also in their best interests to make a mental map as well, for the further they went, the more everything seemed the same.
Soon enough they were totally consumed by the thick vegetation that seemed a literal representation of their being lost. If someone didn't figure a way out soon, it would be best to start moving in another direction.
Dangerous Active Phase: Roll 1d10.
Goal is: low roll.
