The water was entirely clear and cool as Andromeda loomed over the pond, studying the Kirin looking back at her. Her hooves shifted uncomfortably as she turned her head this way and that, all the while keeping her glimmering eyes locked with those she saw within the water. She knew her name but aside from that she was clueless about herself. Who were her parents? Was she ever in love? And the thought that petrified her most of all, did she have children? What if she had offspring shivering by themselves somewhere and hoping their mother would soon return? A rare case of frustration overcame her and she jabbed her horn violently into the water. “Why can’t I remember?” She sighed.
Turning her back on the pond she angled towards a tall tree, desiring the shelter from the sun. Not only did her coat make her extremely warm when in the sun but the light also irritated her sensitive eyes. Shifting from a walk to a slow trot she headed for the shadows, a frown still painting her features. Her wish to know more about herself would never go away, but it was hard for her to fight wondering about it at all times. Reaching the shade she shook out her mane and tucked her legs beneath her in order to lie in the cool grass. “It is confusing not knowing who you are…” She stated to the tree. Though she knew it would give her no answers, she couldn’t help but feel a little comforted being able to say it aloud.

The deep pink stallion moved in and out through the trees of the forest. Ears flicking he caught the trickling sound of a near by stream. It was getting close to take his afternoon bath. Excited the stallion picked up his pace. Soon Zareth had come to the source of water, which was a pond in which his ears had picked up. When he arrived at the stream within an instant the girlish stallion had entered it with a small 'splash'. The cool water surrounding his hooves. The whole while he was splashing about the pond cleaning himself of the dirt and leaves from his journey, he didn't realize the other who had settled herself down under a nearby tree. If he did he probably wouldn't have been splashing as much.

Her musings were cut short as the sounds of splashing water caused her ears to swivel in the direction of the pond. Bringing herself slowly to a stand, and keeping the noise level down, she peered in the direction from which she had come. It took a moment for her eyes to focus but when they landed upon a vibrantly colored stallion she felt more at ease. A whisper of a thought reminded her of how little she knew about this land, and the predators that may lurk within. The whisper soon vanished as curiosity and the urge to meet a fellow Kirin took its place. Her maw turned to a gentle smile as she began walking towards him.
“Good afternoon!” She called as she drew nearer to the stranger. It was her hope that she would not startle him as she approached for he looked so at peace splashing around in the waters. With how high and hot the sun was she couldn’t blame him for taking advantage of the cool water. “I daresay it is a lovely day for such activities.” She remarked calmly as she stopped at the bank of the pond.

When he was spoken to his splashing had ceased. If he would have known that there were others around he wouldn't have been splashing so loudly. He liked taking his baths in peace, but that didn't seem like it was going to happen now. "Good afternoon," He replied back, he wasn't going to take out his own frustration on her for his own mistake. His tail raised out of the water and he spoke again. "I got some mud in my tail and I was cleaning it." he explained. Seeing that she had a long braided tail like he did he then questioned. "How do you keep your tail from getting dirty?" he wondered. Zareth was a bit of a clean freak. He disliked being dirty.

Only after the fact did the thought that perhaps this Kirin wanted privacy enter her mind. He didn’t seem outwardly irritated but she couldn’t help but get the sense she had interrupted his ritual. Her jaw opened as she was about to apologize but she shut it once he returned her greeting. If she had truly irked him he didn’t seem to wish for her to leave judging by his politeness. She cocked her head as he spoke of getting mud in his tail and looked at her own as the question reached her. Giving the silvery mess a quick flick she laughed nervously. “That is a good question; I suppose I never really gave it much thought.” She answered in embarrassment. “Not that I don’t bathe often…” She added as an afterthought. It wasn’t as though she didn’t tend to her hygiene but mainly it was something she did without thinking and only when it was needed. Turning her eyes onto his tail she smiled gently and admired it. “My what a lovely tail you have!” She exclaimed. She hadn’t seen braids like the ones he had before and they were quite beautiful.
