Emrys XXXXXXXXX

►►//.General Information:

Nationality: Unknown
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Race: Druid
Sexual Preference: We'll find out!
Roleplay Color: #B3446C

►►//Appearance:
Height: 6'7
Body Build: Built, defined muscles, smooth and cut.
Eye Color: Light gold
Hair Color: Soft coal

►►//Magic:
Rose Vines: Spacial attack, where Emrys can summon vines, materializing out of the earth and attack a circumference of 25 feet. Minor damage, but enough to land a few whip lashes and lacerations.
Animal Site: Emrys has an affinity to any creature with antlers, thus being able to use their eyes to see for his own. When this spell is active, he can see both from his own eyes and the eyes of the creature. It does no harm to the creature and does not lower his defenses.
Famine: Unlike the word itself, Emrys has the ability to bring death to vegetation, nothing largely organic like trees, or even animals, but small trees, bushes, flowers, ect. This is a large spacial attack, not against a foe, but can kill a village if he really wanted to.
Vegetation Manipulation: Short ranged attack / use. If Emrys needs to, he can use a tree's branches, or a flower to trip, hold, or smack into an opponent. Minor damage, but a great prison especially when using thick tree branches to hold someone, however, he will tire after a long period of time as he needs to focus to control the wills of the vegetation he's controlling.
Vegetation Conversation: Like all druids, he can speak to plants and other larger vegetation.
Tea: Rotting Rose

Personality and Background XXXXXXXXX

►►//.Personality:

Overview:
Emrys, like his predecessor before him, which his name comes from, is shrouded in a lot of mystery, as he tends to keep to himself, and his of his clan. While he is soft-spoken and quiet, as he will usually not talk unless he has something to say, it by no means dictates that he's unapproachable. In fact, he's quite approachable.

He's a strong hunter and a good warrior; dedication runs deep within his veins. If his clan is threatened, or someone has threatened him, he will not think twice about coming to violence, magical or physical. He is rather strong and thus uses his hands a lot more than he uses his magic. He's not shy of others, nor does he look down upon those who are not druids. He believes everyone should be entitled to their own ways in life, and no one should tell them differently.

Emrys is quite loyal to those who he befriends and has a soft spot for the youth, and does his best to help them when they come to him with situations they're unsure of. He's often seen as a shaman of his clan, being they believe he can call forth and send away spirits, because of his ability to kill vegetation or bring it back at will, however, he has no talent with herbs and poultices. With this title, many come to him for advice and he is more than willing to give it.

He's not unkind, but he's not a bleeding heart. He won't go out of his way to save a damsel in distress and he certainly will not feed a man who cannot provide for himself with an able body. However, if that man has a broken leg, Emrys will surely share his kill with the other. He firmly believes in providing others with the tools to success, but not giving them that success, as that is what life is about.

Paths and journeys are important to Emrys, and he often goes out on vision quests when he finds himself in difficult situations within his clan. He has not abandoned his clan, and protects it fiercely. His place in the world is with his people, but to be able to advice correctly, he understands that he must venture outside of his clan to gain more knowledge of the world outside of his fellow druids.

Emrys is certainly not one for books though. Instead of reading and studying, he much prefers interactions between humans and life lessons. He believes no one can fully understand the meaning behind a text, but they can fully understand the meaning behind a smile.

Emrys has a bit of a weakness for failure. If he fails, he will regret and obsess over it for quite some time, and will usually work years and years to try to fix it in some manner. His biggest regret is the exile of his childhood friend. It tears at his heart and often will cause him to be a bit more "antsy" when it comes to helping the youth, because he doesn't want the same fate to happen to them. Regrets can make him a bit careless and cause him to fail more. When he does fail, he falls into bats of depression and even can become rather rude to people, going so far as to tell them to, "******** off," or, "You figure it out." After he heals from these moments of weakness, he will be more than apologetic to those of which he had hurt or wronged when he was "beside himself."

►►//.Background:

When Emrys was born, he came into the world kicking and screaming, like most babies, but he was wrapped in vines and flowers. Both his parents knew he would one day be a great with magic, and thus gave him the name "Emrys" which was Merlin the Wizard's original name. Little was known of Merlin before he was "Merlin" and that mystery both excited Emrys' parents and haunted them all the same. For Merlin became cruel and cunning in his older stages, but he was respected and hailed as one of the greatest witches in all of history. Thus when they named their own son, "Emrys" they were confident that with good, bad, or something in between, their son would go on to do great things.

As a youth, Emrys was far from the quiet, "mysterious" man he grew to be. He was loud, troublesome, and very curious. He and his friend, who came to be known as "Bane" would play for long hours and cause so much mischief among the clan that they were considered the "double trouble." But with all their mischief, there was also smiles, as a lot of their pranks were very harmless and...hardly...anyone ever got hurt. As a child, Emrys showed exceptional skill in basic nature manipulation, moving plants and even tree branches, it wasn't until he was much older that he could move the large tree trunks or warp larger scale vegetation. He also grew up with his family unit, composed of his mother, father and himself. He was an only child, and thus his father had much more time to focus on his bow training, which led him to be quite skilled in hunting.

It wasn't until Bane was exiled that Emrys became much more introverted. He stopped smiling and he started mulling over the world and the "hows" and "whys." He also became obsessed with regrets. How could he have allowed what came to pass, happen? Why did he not try to stop it harder? Why was he so powerless? These questions burned and plagued at Emrys, eating his soul and giving him a heavy burden to carry. He vowed to never allow such a fate to ever happen again, and he'd protect his clan. When he was a youth, he was skilled with the bow, and as he grew, he became even more talented with using his magics and the spear. He became a valued hunter within his clan and provided for those who didn't have the abilities to provide for himself. Yet no one was ever happy completely with him. He told them, he would only provide for those not able to provide for themselves, which was met with many outbursts and anger, but he would not recoil, and they learned to accept that he was their backbone, but not their heart.

As he found adulthood, he found his spiritual side and would often pray like those who valued animism. He thanked his kills for their gifts to him, and he prayed hard to the "spirits within the trees and the nymphs of the rivers." While his clan was very pagan, and worshiped many gods, he found his own religion, of which they did readily accept. With his abilities to bring back the dead plants, and kill them all the same, his clan felt he was a great spirit controller and he became their appointed shaman, even if he said he had no talents with the herbs he could raise and kill. Instead of becoming a healer shaman, he would go on vision quests, and advice with prophecy and give an ear and a voice to anyone who asked for it. He was also an important warrior and would fight many other druid clans who threatened his own.

He remained an important figure in his clan's society, and with that, he hoped that authority and respect could eventually one day, recoil the exile of his beloved childhood friend...Bane.

Only time will tell.
