I'm writing this story and in it someone is cursed with worldwide fame. I'm trying to think of something a criminal could do that would both suck for the criminal and be crazy enough to get into the news but I'm coming up blank.

Any ideas?

you might siphon gasoline from some VIp vehicle, swallow it accidentally and get very sick?

i once did something similar to this and it did suck, and it was illegal.

I've seen the method and always assumed that if I tried I would ******** it up and get myself a belly full of oil.

I don't think you can break a world record chugging gas though.

Write terrible Twilight fanfiction that gets turned into a poorly written "s&m" story and eventually a movie that sweeps the country, shocking everyone who thinks with their brain instead of their genitals?

edit: warning: this idea may be too out there.

Could always go with a most crimes committed in a day, or most of a specific type of crime (shoplifting?)... or most bungled crimes in a day. No one wants to be a famous thief; it implies being caught.

train to be a pilot and land going the wrong direction, against the traffic patterns at the airport and mess everybody all up, halting flights for hours.

you were trying to deliver a dessert to a dignitary, so when you are questioned you say "i've got a bombe! for the ambassador!"
