Regina stood near the middle of the city, clipboard and pen in hand. She was, naturally, dressed as a surveyor. She’d already interviewed multiple new trainers, with no interesting results. Some had shown potential, but others were obviously not going to finish the circuit. Most were of the ages ten to thirteen, with a few just over and a few just under. Bored now, she sat herself down on the bench nearby, Caroline hopping up next to her, waving her inky tail. “Observe. Do you see anything worth my time?” she asked in a low tone. The Smeargle stood on the bench, doing a three-sixty turn to see if there was something interesting in the vicinity. She then sat down again, shaking her head. “Good girl. We should move on soon – I hate wearing skirts and my hair will curl up again.” She stood, dusting herself off and waiting until Caroline slid off the bench before she began to move to the Pokemon Centre.

Once there, she entered and handed the Smeargle over to Nurse Joy, just in case – who knows what diseases those kids who had petted her had carried? When Joy deemed her healthy, they set off again, now moving closer to the central water fountain. “See any moves you like?” A scarce few trainers were battling in secluded areas, so as not to disturb the citizens, but none seemed all that powerful, so the Smeargle shook its head. “Alright.” She leaned against the stone, contemplating going to watch a few Gym battles to scope out trainers, but it was only a substitute Gym Leader, so it wouldn’t be a proper battle, in her opinion. She allowed herself a small smile, thinking of all the trainers that would be beaten down today, for lack of proper battling skills – these would be the ones easiest to recruit. The ones wanting more power, to show others what they could really do. It was marvellous, really, what people would do for promised – and delivered, of course – power.

Regina had been talking quietly to Caroline, and looked up when she saw a little boy approaching with an Oshawott riding on a shiny Blitzle, with a Poochyena, Lillipup and Zigzagoon running around him. How odd. She stood as he neared, smiling at him. Yes, the Smeragle helped to draw in new trainers - curiosity killed the cat and all that. She was surprised at his first comment - that she was pretty. Well. She supposed that he could be spared a little longer in the end . . . "Thank you," she replied. "My name is Hayley Morris, and this is Caroline, my Smeargle." That was the name she'd used to register for her job, and it seemed to work out fine - no paper trail would ever lead to her. At that stage, Caroline's slightly vain nature took over, and she waved her tail in the air, drawing what appeared to be a bone. The bone then solidified, and she reached out and gripped it before it feel, holding it confidently.

"Smeargles have the special move 'Sketch', which allows them to copy pretty much every move. Here, she's using the move Bone Club that she learned through Sketch. You can pet her if you'd like," she offered. In her experience, most children liked to touch Caroline, although she had no idea why.

Regina nodded at the boy. Well, he was a rather quick learner - that was good. His question about the Blitzle, though, interested her. Had no one taught him this before? "It just means that your Blitzle is exceedingly rare. It's what's called a 'shiny' Pokemon, meaning that it has a different colour and than other Pokemon, and it tends to sparkle in strong light. You're very lucky to have caught one." Frankly, the nice tone was killing her a little, but she knew it was necessary. She gestured to her clipboard and pen, asking, "Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about your journey so far? Afterwards, I can tell you a little more about Pokemon," she offered.

Caroline, apparently bored with this, tossed the bone she'd made into the air. It twirled for a few moments, before she conjured another one and sent that flying to the first. They collided, both bones shattering. Smugly, she sat down again. Regina shook her head at her Pokemon, muttering, "Show off."

Regina nodded patiently while the boy pulled his Lillipup away from a bin. Eh, she'd seen worse. She smiled again when he agreed to answer her. "Several questions, actually, but they're all very basic, I assure you. What is your name? How old are you? What is your starter? Well, I can see that one," she murmured, scribbling down the answer and ticking the Water-type column. "Why did you want to become a Pokemon trainer? What Routes have you been on? How long have you been a trainer? How would you describe yourself in terms of personality? What is your strongest Pokemon's current level? Do you expect yourself to be able to finish the Etrua Circuit? Finally, have you challenged the Gym yet? If so, did you win?" She knew that that must've been a lot to take in, so she'd paused for a few seconds or so to let him digest the questions. Some of her questions weren't actually part of the original survey, but he didn't need to know that - only Team Celestia did.

Regina nodded, writing down the few answers that she was given. Tsk. That was the problem with kids - such bad memories. "Alright. These were the others: What Routes have you been on? How long have you been a trainer? How would you describe yourself in terms of personality? Do you expect yourself to be able to finish the Etrua Circuit? Again, have you beat the Gym?" This time, she gave more time for him to respond between the questions. The little boy - Alex - was . . . weak. At least, his Pokemon were weak. Perhaps if he leveled up a bit more, she could see what he was worth, but for now he was just another trainer. Caroline, peeked over her shoulder, seeing what she had written, before hopping down from the ledge and going to examine the Shiny Blitzle.

(Err... I can't remember where my last post was... So Im just gonna reset my post counter and keep the levels I had on the pokemon from my profile.)

Vayne still carried the ralts around along with Cyndaquil on his shoulder. Ledyba and Pidgey both were flying low, Vayne noticed that they were all being a little dampened. He forgot to heal them earlier, so he set course for the nearest pokemon center.

Ledyba continued to fly along side Vayne until she noticed further ahead the blue-hair boy from before. She quickly lew past her team and overhead the boy and the woman she was talking to. Vayne watched as Ledyba flew past them, he was a bit confused by why but He didn't let it bothher him, at least she stopped at the pokemon center.

Today, Nolan was just going to be taking things easy. He'd take it slow and prepare for his upcoming gym challenge. It's not like he was worried about Valor being unable to charge up enough electricity anymore, especially since that morning was a rather rude awakening for him. Eager to play some more, the little Flash cub had lovingly woken up his human with electrified claws. He dug them into Nolan's flesh and zapped the trainer awake, just thrilled that he could do this new thing. Between Valor and Twill, Nolan was confident they had a fighting chance against the Gym Leader, however, he wanted to do some scouting and fact gathering first. Being prepared!

And he was curious about the Hippopotas he had caught after his misadventure out on Route 3. Yet it was the rules that he couldn't carry more than six pokemon at a time. Getting an explanation from another rookie trainer in the pokecenter, Nolan felt fairly confident how to use the PC system now. Choosing, however, was one of the most difficult things he had done, and it was Honor who was eventually transferred over to the PC back home. Nolan did feel a tad better after he had written an email explaining to his parents that he was fine, and yes, everything was going just great, and could they please look after his Shinx for awhile, thanks.

With Snivy riding 'co-pilot' on the bag, and Nolan trying to imagine what kind of pokemon Hippopotas was like, he sat down on the fountain's edge in central Blyse. Fiddling around with the pokedex and holding an apple in his teeth, he wasn't really paying attention to the other passing foot-traffic and trainers hanging out around the area. 'The Hippo Pokémon. Nolan scoffed to himself at the entry, but he was starting to be quite impressed with the Ground type the more he read about it. And he hadn't even yet had met it after their first encounter when he caught it. Err ... she. This Hippo was female.

Ignoring the smug snake, even if it was her fault that he had Hippopotas in the first place, Nolan was itching to let the new girl on his team out of her pokeball - big girl, heavy girl, potentially dangerous girl. Shifting on the stone, he glanced up from his pokedex, snapping it shut, and finally took a bite of the apple. No, he would wait until he was outside of the city, because his Taillow proved that not all pokemon were sweet and gentle angels of kindness. Nolan wouldn't want to suffer the humiliation in public if the Hippo didn't listen to him, or worse, got out of control. How far could a pokemon on the rampage go until someone stopped it? How much damage could that possible be? Someone could even be killed ...

"Nivy."
Nolan looked back down when Snivy poked his side, making him flinch, and with a matter-of-fact attitude, Snivy pointed at the apple in his hand. Sighing, Nolan rummaged around for his pocket knife and cut a generous slice for Snivy to eat. Yet the Grass snake had also pulled him out of his nightmarish daydreaming, and Nolan gave the groups of trainers walking by a little more attention. He certainly didn't feel like the same total newbie who walked off the ship only a few days ago. But he also tried not to make eye-contact with any of them. Nolan wasn't the type to invite disaster, or um, a pokemon battle when he could help it.

But while he was looking around, Nolan too noticed the strange white pokemon with the funny beret and a paintbrush for a tail. And there were a lot more pokemon near the fountain too that he hadn't first noticed. It looked like most of them belonged to two trainers who seemed to be talking to the Smeargle owner. Nolan could identify several of the pokemon species, and he even recognized Alex from their brief meeting on Route 1.
