"Fool me once, shame on you, but fool me twice, shame on me! Zeus catch that Magikarp!" Zeus landed on the sand and held out his arms to stop Dosu. But that was a lot of fish for a little Psychic pokemon and he got knocked down when Dosu landed on top of him. He grabbed the fish as best as he could so Jupiter could tag him again. But once he saw Twill he Teleported away to the opposite side of the field, over the deep water.

Kiera was celebrating too soon. Twill went for Zeus and the Abra teleported in time to dodge the first Quick Attack. He reappeared over the fallen tree and couldn't teleport again so soon. Zeus got hit hard and fell down on to the ground. A simple tag would have been enough for the point and Kiera couldn't really blame Twill since it would be hard to touch Zeus before he teleported away. But Twill made it so Zeus wasn't able to battle anymore by using attacks. He couldn't take very many physical hits at all. She ran over to Zeus and picked him up. "Aw can we call it a tie now? Twill is really strong."

"Don't worry so much Nolan! He'll be fine after a rest and a visit to the PokeCenter." Kiera returned Zeus to his PokeBall and she put it back on her belt. "Lets say it's a tie because that sounds better. You tried really hard to win too. I can't be angry at you! You've been helping me so much training my pokemon! You're my good luck charm!" Kiera jumped forward and hugged Nolan. She couldn't help it because he looked so sad for hurting Zeus and she wanted to cheer him up. Then she blushed and giggled a litte. "I'm sorry. Do you want to go swimming with me?"

Kiera covered her mouth so she wouldn't laugh at Nolan. He was younger than her but she was starting to really like him. "Okay that's fine! That sounds like a really good plan. I'll camp out here tonight because I don't like all the crowds in the city. I'll be safe with all my pokemon!" Kiera smiled and bowed. She unwrapped a lollipop and winked at him. "Don't get into any trouble now. Snivy you watch after him too!"

Kiera woke up the next day and yawned and stretched. The Pidgey and Taillow were singing in the trees and Kiera got up carefully out of her sleeping bag. She didn't want to wake her up her pokemon in the tent with her and she pat Brutus who was standing guard outside. It was a lot more quiet since Nolan had gone back into town. She would go too but her pokemon still needed training.

She didn't have any Electric, Ice, or Rock types. Only Yanma had a weakness to Flying. She thought she would be okay after everyone got tougher. "Wake up everyone! It's another new day and we got to get ready for training!" She looked around to see what was nearby because Brutus was growling at something. It was just an early morning group of Oddish looking for food. "Relax! They're nice pokemon."

Kiera walked towards Route 2 to see the ocean and all the water pokemon. She didn't need another pokemon but she liked catching something rare. She kept a look out but one extra PokeBall so it had to be something really special. A cute little Purrloin walked across the path and waved its tail at Kiera. "I don't really trust that face even if you are a cutey. But you're a Dark type!" Kiera checked her PokeDex but Purrloin wasn't what she wanted at all. Brutus was neater. "Jupiter go Tackle it!" Jupiter ran up behind the Purrloin and knocked it right back into the tall grass. The cat went running. "I guess we're too strong for these pokemon too. We could go back to Route 3 maybe. I don't know."

She had to keep training though and only until her pokemon were starting to look tired. But she was getting tired before them. Oddish Oddish everywhere! Yanma and Vesuvius were having fun and none of the others had a weakness to Oddish. They were fine fighting only Oddish. Kiera yawned. She didn't even have to tell her pokemon what to do anymore since it was Oddish Oddish everywhere!

She sat back down near the Ruins. Another wild pokemon was coming up. It was...no surprise. Another Oddish and Vesy scared it away with his fire.

Nolan stopped short of Blyse City's Gym, and just looked at the building for a few minutes, trying to work up the nerve to go inside. What if there was some hidden rule that he had to battle just for walking inside? Snivy was much more patient than normal, and quiet for some reason. Nolan thought maybe she was just as nervous, not that Snivy would admit it. She was refusing to meet his questioning glance, just sitting passively in his arms while he carried her. But finally, Nolan finally sneaked a peak inside, just poking his head into the building to get a look.

Satisfied with that, next he went to the pokecenter, and did something Snivy thought was just about unthinkable. Nolan put the Grass Snake in her pokeball, and then deposited her in the PC along with Dosu and Nincada. He had decided on his team for the gym battle, and honestly, really didn't want to risk the Magikarp evolving before he was ready.

Nolan just didn't realize how much he had come to depend on Snivy though, not until he was walking out of the pokecenter. He felt a little hollow, and the sunny city seemed a little more threatening and unfamiliar. Letting Valor out though did help a lot with the overly affectionate cub giving him all kinds of cute faces. Nolan just wouldn't go far from Blyse, so he could hurry and get Snivy and Dosu back if he had to.

"Well, Valor, I guess we should get to know our lady Hippo sooner or later, yeah? Better find out if this is just another disaster waiting to happen."
Valor yowled happily.
