The 101 on Horseman Week 3 Congratulations on making it to Week Three of the Horsemen meta! During Week 1 and Week 2, all Amityville characters have been focused on learning about the cultures of the Horsemen. In Week Three, with the Horsemen gone to their Conference... Well, it's just too much of a fine opportunity for the Hunters.
So now the Hunters are here.

Horsemen Battle Rules For the Horsemen event, the core rules for battling in the shop are the same. However, there are a few key changes between the two that you need to be aware of.
+ No natural abilities, or FEAR attacks. These are still "locked." -- Natural forms ARE allowed. -- Hunter FEAR attacks ARE allowed. -- Amityville characters that are considered Year 2 or higher MAY use their FEAR attacks. Y1/Guest/Quest students may not use their FEAR attacks.
+ Amityville students and Hunters CAN use learned abilities.
+ You must edit in damage totals and results IMMEDIATELY after rolling. Your RP post can wait. Please be considerate of your fellow RPers! Having the damage plainly visible enables people to keep RPing.
+ During PvP segments, only three people can attack one person at a time per turn. -- By "attack," this means up to three people can roll to hit the same person. If anyone misses, this STILL counts as one of the three attacks than can be taken against them! -- If someone chooses to DEFEND someone, that does NOT count towards the three person limit. The defender will need to wait for the person they are defending to take their next turn, though! -- A "turn" is defined by someone taking a rolling action, such as attacking, defending, fleeing, etc. If you need to roll, that's an action! -- All characters can take up to six "turns" per GM round. This means, every character can choose to attack, defend, OR heal someone a total of six times per GM round. A GM round is when a GM posts and states that a new round has begun. -- If you defend or heal someone, the target being defended/healed just needs to acknowledge they were healed/defended and you can go again, it takes up one turn. If you defend yourself, it takes up one turn and you generally have to wait for ANYONE to hit you before you can defend/attack again.
+ During PvP it is required for all combatants targeting the same target to keep a tally of the damage they deal against their shared opponent. See the below PvP example.
+ When you roll, INCLUDE YOUR TARGET. Then look at your dice and CALCULATE+INCLUDE THE DAMAGE YOU DEALT. Hit submit. THEN edit in your RP post please!
+ If your opponent does not make a move for 24 hours, you are free to select a new target. -- If your target has gone to bed/you don't want to wait for the 24 hours to be up, it is possible to cancel your attack. Simply edit your post to NULL the roll. If you were targeting someone, PM them to let them know they can ignore the damage. This will still take up one of your six allowed turns per GM round. In addition, you can ONLY do this if the person you are targeting has not taken the damage yet. This is for those who attack a person whose player went to bed; please do not abuse this system. -- If you do this, please note that only the roll is void. You can keep your RP post and actions, so you don't need to retcon.
+ QUOTE THOSE YOUR CHARACTER IS INTERACTING WITH. -- QUOTE the person you are attacking. -- If you are being attacked, QUOTE your attackers when you take your turn so that they know they can take their turn too!
+ Work with each other OOCly to find opponents/battle! Not everyone is in the same time zone, and not everyone is a fast RPer. Please, please work with each other and coordinate attacks on BOTH sides.
+ If fighting a boss, KEEP A RUNNING TOTAL OF BOSS HP AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR POST.

Battle Reference Sheet HP Values Y1/Guest Students: 30/30 HP Y2/Hunter Trainees: 40/40 HP Y3/Advanced Hunter Trainees: 50/50 HP Y4/Horsemen/Hunters: 60/60 HP Clan Leaders/Division Leaders: ???/??? + It is impossible to go over your maximum HP; it caps at maximum amount. + When your HP falls to 0, your character is not knocked out. Their "Fear shield" is gone, and they are susceptible to pain and scarring. + At -5 HP your character falls unconscious. Characters can still attack you until you hit -10 HP. + At -10 HP your character dissipates, aka they have just died. They will respawn elsewhere. Attack Dice Y1/Guest Students: 2d6 Y2/Hunter Trainees: 2d8 Y3/Advanced Hunter Trainees: 2d10 Y4/Hunters: 2d12 Horsemen: 2d12 ( note: subtract 8 instead of 6!) Clan Leaders/Division Leaders: 2d12 ( note: subtract 4 instead of 6!) "2d6" means "roll two 6-sided dice." Finding Accuracy and Damage Not every attack will hit, nor will every attack do a lot of damage. Unless otherwise stated above, all characters will subtract six from their dice total. This six represents your character's accuracy AND your opponent's block/dodge. If your result is larger than 0... you deal that much damage. If your result is 0 or less... you deal no damage. Instead, one of the following occurs: xxxxx + You missed. xxxxx + You attacked, but your opponent was able to dodge. xxxxx + You attacked, but your opponent was able to block. xxxxx + etc etc. Don't be afraid to get creative! All it means is that somehow your attack did not connect with your opponent. And no, it cannot hit someone else instead. Targetting You can only attack someone who is not being attacked by three other people. This means you may need to ctrl+f user names to find a free opponent! Work with each other OOC to find out who is available for targeting. Once you pick a target, you cannot move until your target moves, either to attack, defend, or flee. If you are being attacked, you STILL must wait for your target to move before you can. Please QUOTE your opponents to let them know of your actions! If you attack someone and realize you are the fourth person, you do NOT need to wait for them to tell you that your attack is void. Just pick a new target and roll a new post. Please strike out your previous post, as editing a new target can potentially mess up other people! This is going to be very, VERY chaotic. My advice: look at your notifications. Acknowledge the first three people who quoted you, ignore the rest. It is up to each and every one of you to know who is being attacked by three people, and who is not. Defending You can give up your attack roll by choosing instead to defend. What you roll is the amount of damage you nullify. If you defend someone else, you TAKE the damage for them. Also QUOTE THEM so they are aware of your action. Ie I defend Bob and roll a 6, getting the result of 4. The next person to attack Bob hits him for 5. I take 4 of that damage, Bob gets hit for 1. When you defend someone, you take the damage for their NEXT attack. Let's say: Bob attacks Sue for 5. Jim attacks Sue for 3. Fred defends Sue for 6. Sam attacks Sue for 2. Sue attacks Bob for 1. Jim attacks Sue for 2. In this case, Fred takes Sam's attack of 2 against her. As soon as Sue makes a move, Fred is no longer defending Sue. As such, Fred does not take the second attack Jim made against Sue. This is an example of how your battle posts should be when facing a boss. Minus the SHOUT dialog box, of course. Notice that there's no RP post here. Instead, the important information present is what's in OOC. It is important that you calculate your damage and boss HP RIGHT AFTER YOU POST AND HIT SUBMIT so that everyone can see at a glance how much damage you did! Edit in your RP posts AFTER you have edited in the damage/boss HP amount!

Since she's being attacked, Qlue decided to defend herself. ...Except she defended herself for one. Character Name: Washington Becker HP: 40/40 Target: Marushii's Sample Student Damage: 10 Effect: None Marushii Nio Love's character Riley is attacking Qlue for 10 damage! Marushii Ravvlet's character Wash is attacking Qlue for 10 damage! Appearance You like dark chocolate? Wash is the guy for you. His semi-fro blows in the wind gloriously, his scarf whipping around his face as he punches you right in the jaw. The look on his face suggests he is wondering why you are not in the kitchen, making sandwiches. ^ Please don't do that. Wash is about 6 feet tall, with dark brown skin and dark hair and eyes. He is wearing a white jacket with gold accents over a black t-shirt and blue jeans. His weapon is a round shield that is blue and silver and glows with a hint of electricity.

My turn again! Qlue is still out-matched: four people have attacked her! But that's more than three. Because Dragain is the fourth person to attack her, Dragain's attack is void. Dragain will need to roll again and pick a new target! So. Nio's character hit Qlue for 10, Ravv's hit her for 10, and Grey's hit her for 9. Since Qlue defended for 1, this means I can subtract it from the first person who hit her: Nio's character hits Qlue for 9, not 10. If someone else was defending Qlue for one, then THEY would take one damage instead of Qlue. Damage is only nullified if you defend yourself. So. Let's see. Qlue's being attacked for 9+10+9. She's been hit for 28 damage, ow! Either way, Nio Love, Ravvlet, and Grey Dragon can't roll for battle until I move. If you're going to be AFK for awhile, please FLEE from battle so that your opponents can keep fighting! It's really bad taste to "delay" or "put off" a post so that your opponents can't play too! Please be considerate of your fellow RPers. You MAY NOT attack then flee from battle. Every turn, you can either ATTACK, DEFEND, use a LEARNED ABILITY (Amityville Students)/RUNIC WEAPON (Hunters only), or FLEE. If you find yourself in my position, you technically can flee... but it's bad form to flee when you're about to die, heal up, then come back in. Please don't do this.Even though Qlue has low HP, she's going to attack. Also, did you notice that zoo attacked Ravvlet and Nio Love? Even though zoo attacked them, they can't retaliate until I move. Please quote your opponents when it's your turn, so they know they can move too! This is going to be very chaotic.
